At about a block behind SLO clinic, there was a wide and spacious public park where rows of blooming cherry blossom trees were planted, creating a picturesque view of the location. Mrs Dawson and Lynney were marvelled to discover such a serene area to unwind from the immense stress from a while ago. Thankfully, Specky was back in shape, though seemingly weary from the terrible experience, now cuddled comfortably with Lynney's arms. The pair of mom and daughter sat down by one of the public picnic tables surrounded by charming cherry blossoms nearly on all sides gracing their presence...
Both have been quiet for some time while walking to the park, until Lynney's cellphone sounded right after they sat down on the benches, a timely interruption to the heavy silence between them. Lynney saw that it was a call from Danson...Upon a brief glance, she decided to switch off her phone, surprising Mrs Dawson.
Mrs Dawson spoke up, "That's the first time I'm seeing you doing this, honey..."
Stuffing the phone back into her backpack, Lynney then turned to her mother and shrugged, "Mom, this is the first time you're saying about me ignoring a call..."
Mrs Dawson could at least bear to break into a light chuckle by now, "Come on, sweetheart...I hardly ever heard your phone ringing for the past ten years, and now you're deliberately throwing away a chance of a lifetime...Now, tell me, who is this special guy?!"
Lynney glanced up at the magnificent canopy of pink and white right above them both. She simply shrugged it off a second time, "Oh mommy...I feel so tired...It's a long and mysterious story...but it seems like I'm fed up with everything already..."
Mrs Dawson shook her head and smiled, "Alright, tell me the background story when we get home...But for now, only tell me if you think there's any possibility between you and him."
Lynney sighed and turned to her, shaking her head, "I don't know...that's too far-fetched...He's only a graduate student at Sanford University."
Mrs Dawson was somewhat impressed, "Why, that's not bad, girl...What else might you be expecting, a doctor?"
Lynney managed a slight giggle and shook her head, "Come on, mom...What's important now is that Specky remain whole and healthy for the time being, okay?"
Mrs Dawson too laughed and gently stroke the beloved bunny, "Oh dear, my precious daughter has fallen in love with you, sweetie...You must for certain get very well soon!"
The wind blew and sent countless cherry blossom petals descending and flying all over them. Mrs Dawson immediately urged Lynney to take out her phone and capture the touching scene of the moment on its camera, watching how those sweet tender pieces of pink had fallen on her daughter's silky smooth locks and narrow shoulders...Perhaps, Lynney's love for photography was inherited from her thoughtful mom.
After taking more than five dozen pictures of her beloved daughter and the lovely flowers, Mrs Dawson was reminded of what Lynney told her the other day. She apologised, "Sorry, hon...Now, I really believe you about the time matter you were trying to convince me..."
Lynney almost forgot about it, "Oh mom, don't mention it...I know it's definitely a weird thing to believe in, even I was tricked by a double birthday this year...Maybe, there's a purpose behind it all..."
Mrs Dawson was intrigued, "Really? God's trick? Just so that you can own this sweet little precious in your arms?"
At such words by her mother, Lynney was enlightened and her pretty almond-shaped eyes widened upon realisation, "Wow, mom, you're my superwoman! What a revelation is this indeed! I do think it could be God's answer to my wish!"
"Your wish?" Mrs Dawson repeated.
Lynney finally beamed with a big smile at her mother, hugging Specky upclose, "You know, mom...There's just something about my every childhood birthday wishes when we're still living together at Hampton that I gradually forgot all about ever since moving here at Sommerville to attend Sandford...Now, Rolleen reminds me a lot of all I had left behind...But it's funny that its back zip pocket is no longer visible...I used to stuff a lot of little things inside there!"
Mrs Dawson wondered curiously as well, "You're sure about that pocket being lost...Nevermind dear, leave it to mommy...Maybe naughty Macy has done something..."
"Thanks, mom," Lynney was most happy each time when Mrs Dawson came back to Sommerville...Not long after their treasured time by the cherry blossoms, they had to return to SLO clinic so as they could continue to monitor Specky's vital signs and potential symptoms.
