Chapter 6They fell into a routine, almost too easily, Hector thought when he had a spare second to consider it. Days began early, with Cap stoking the ovens, Hector at his workbench, and Doc seeing to breakfast. Hector joined them at morning and evening meals, much to Diana’s delight and Miss Forster’s chagrin. He made her nervous, which made him nervous, so he skipped lunch entirely to give her a break from his presence. What Cap did during the day, he wasn’t sure. Diana had lessons in the morning, and Doc spent a lot of his free time drinking and reading, but unless Cap stopped by the workroom, Hector didn’t see him until it was time for supper.
