Chapter 3
Nixon Gray
Maggie
I climbed out of bed and changed my clothes before going downstairs. As soon as I walked out of the bedroom, I ran smack into Nixon. He gave me an annoyed glance.
“You can’t be serious. You can stare at us, but you can’t look where the hell you’re going. Get out of my way.” He brushed past me, bumping his shoulder against mine.
Nixon Gray was the second oldest brother, who’s eighteen, and hated the sight of me. We’re seniors this year. Lucky for me, I get to see him and his charming personality at school and home. Woo hoo!
Nixon was the most unpredictable of the brothers. He gets into fights, expresses an opinion, and hates me. What did I do to him?
The only time he acts sweet to someone is towards his mom or a girl he was dating. The only two times that I’ve seen his pleasant behavior.
Then there were his brothers and Dad. He would be in an in-depth discussion with Nash or talking to his dad. Nash and Nixon have always been close. They plotted about how to make my life miserable.
Nixon wouldn’t be a terrible guy if he had a better temperament. He’s hot but doesn’t have much else going for him.
I came downstairs for breakfast. The brothers had eaten it by the time I appeared.
“Oh, Ma and Dad left early, so they made breakfast. Sorry, you took your sweet ass time getting down here,” Nixon said with a smirk while his brothers snickered. I shot him a glare as he took a bite of bacon and grinned. I wasn’t too fond of Nixon.
He was moody, rude, condescending, and any other dreadful thing that comes to mind. I had to find something to eat before we left for school. I scoured the cupboards and fridge for food, not seeing many choices. I decided on toast. At least, it was something.
As I waited for my toast, the four of them, besides Nash, got up and left. Good. I didn’t want to deal with them. The toast popped up. As I was getting ready to butter it, the engine roared in the driveway.
“I would hurry. Nix gets impatient with tardiness,” Nash said.
“He wouldn’t.”
Then he peeled out of the driveway.
“Oh, he would.” Nash smirked.
I walked to the door. Yep, Nixon left. Great. Now I had to walk to school. I grabbed my toast, slapped butter on it, and made my way to school. All the way there, as I munched on my toast, I planned ways of getting even with Nixon. If he wants to play dirty, then I’ll play dirty. I’m friends with a specific female he has been checking out at school.
I made it to school as the Gray brothers laughed at me. God, I hate them. I strolled to my locker as Kat and Marcy walked up.
“How is life at the Gray house?” Marcy asked.
I glanced at her. “It’s jail.”
“Yeah, with hot inmates,” Kat said.
I rolled my eyes. The brothers walked by. I caught Nixon checking out Kat. Hmm. It’s the perfect time for revenge.
“You won’t believe what I found out,” I said.
“What?” Kat asked.
I leaned into them and whispered. Both Kat and Marcy’s eyes got huge, and both said, “Nah, uh.”
“Yep.” I nodded my head.
“Damn, that’s a shame because they’re fine-looking specimens,” Kat said.
“Oh, and spread it around,” I said.
“Don’t worry. We will,” both said.
They walked to their class as I walked to mine. Check and mate, boys.
