"WHAT IS THIS?"
Lux’s voice echoed around the room as fire raced through my veins and attempted to burn me from the inside out.
Never in my life had I felt this amount of pain. Not even at the hands of my stepfather and brother. It was like tiny knives were stabbing me from the inside, trying to cut every inch of my skin. Or like something was pressing against my bones, trying to shatter them into dust.
"Aurora..." Emery’s shaky voice squeaked right beside me, as I felt small hands clasp onto my arm. "What’s wrong, what’s going on?"
"Move!"
I managed to see Lux kneeling down beside me as the world began to blur. From the look on his face, I must have looked a sight, but then again, I guess he probably just didn’t want to have to bury my corpse if I were to die right here.
