I waited, feeling Lux’s warmth soak into me, but for some reason, I still shivered. "Why?" I asked more strongly as he remained silent, his expression becoming more and more unreadable. "You’ve made it clear that I am beneath you, so why haven’t you let me die yet?" I didn’t know what exactly I expected from him. I most certainly didn’t hope that he would say that he cared. Especially after he made it clear that he didn’t. As if finally waking up, Lux loosened his hold on me as a smirk formed on his face. "Were you expecting me to say that I helped because I cared?"
