Chapter 4

Charity Dinner

Most of the guests have arrived, I haven't made it down yet. Aiko is being difficult. She keeps getting down, running around her room hiding and throwing balls at Summer. She laughs every time a ball hits her mother with one.

Summer is wearing a silver sheer one-arm short cocktail dress.

"Aiko come on let mommy, put your dress on. Your grandmother and your Aunt Lily are waiting on us."  She walks over to her daughter.

Summer finally, gets her daughter dressed and combs her long beautiful light brown curly hair. Aiko's eyes look so much like Cordell's, it's like looking at him. Cord's eyes are blue. "I saw him about a month ago. He was standing outside of the Mall. He's 6'3 he was looking like a god. His hair is brown. He was wearing a white tee-shirt and black jeans." Summer is thinking. "Come on princess let's make our first mommy and daughter grand entrance. "  She is looking at Aiko. She is running down the hall.

"No, no let me carry you. Don't run, you might fall.

No, mommy no, me walk." Aiko said still running 

"Aiko, no, I will carry you." She catches up with her daughter. She picks her up. She starts walking down the stairs.  She is hit by the same intoxicating scent from the mall. "Oh no, he's here, why tonight? Don't I have enough to deal with tonight without having a mating issue?  Summer mumbles. She takes a deep breath, as she walks down the stairs.  The first person she sees is  Rachael. She is waiting for Summer at the bottom of the stairs. 

Rachael is looking around the room. But is talking to Summer " Cordell is here.  But he came alone. Jillian just arrived with her parents.

Summer leans close to Rachael. "My mate is here somewhere. He was at the mall earlier."

" Is that a good or bad thing?" She is looking at Summer confused

Summer shakes her head "Bad, real bad"

Heath walks up to Summer and Rachael. "Heads up, Cord just asked about you."

Rachael looks at Heath "Her mate is here."

" Who is he?" He's looking around the room

" I don't know yet. But he is getting closer" She sees Chase walking beside Heath

"Hey, guys what's going on?" Chase is smiling at Summer

Summer smiles at him

Rachael looks at Chase. "Summer's mate is here.

"Hell f*****g no," Chase whisper yell while clenching his fist

Rachael's head snaps to look at Chase " What?"

Chase shakes his head " Nothing, I'm going to get something to drink. You all want anything?"

Heath sees Cord sniffing walking their way. "I'm going with you man. I got a feeling the s**t is about to hit the fan. 

Summer looks at Rachael " The scent is so strong it's like it's right-___ cut off.  She looks into Cord's eyes.

"MATE!" Cord smiles looking at Summer.

Summer shakes her head. " Mate? No, No you can't be my mate. You already have a Mate. No way." She is looking at him

"Your right I do have a Mate.  You, ever since we were nine." He points at her with his head.

Summer is staring at him in disbelief. Aiko is smiling looking at her grandmother.

Julia is standing on stage. "Ladies and Gentlemen. This is my youngest daughter Lily Castle. Let me introduce you all to my other daughter Alpha Summer Castle and her daughter Aiko McMillan.

"DAUGHTER? MCMILLAN?"  Cord yells  looking at Summer and Aiko

"Yes, my daughter, " she whispers. As she walks away heading to the stage 

Summer smiles looking around the room. "Thank you all for coming tonight. We're sorry that we missed the last two years. But we won't miss another year. (Aiko's clapping her hands and smiling) Do you want to say anything Aiko?

"Mommy, my mommy. " Aiko kisses Summer's cheek 

Everyone laughs and claps their hands

Summer laughs. " Everyone please enjoy yourselves and don't forget to donate." Summer walks off the stage. 

"We need to talk, " Cordell grabs her hand.  He is walking her to the library.

They are stopped by Jillian.

"Why are you with her?"  Jillian's  rolling her eyes at Summer

"She's my mate and this is our daughter. What business is it of yours?"  Cord looks at Jillian. "I don't have time to deal with you right now. He pulls Summer toward the library

"What?"  Jillian yells looking at Aiko

"You heard what he said, slut. Now move."  Summer looks at the woman.

Jillian grabs Cordell's arm. He pushes her away.

Cord closes the door to the library. He pulls Summer into him kissing her like is no tomorrow. Summer didn't resist, she opened her mouth giving him full access. He and Summer are sucking on each other tongues. She realizes what she's doing. She pulls away from him.

"You don't know how much I missed you. Cord looks at her.

"Not much since you dumped me and have a fake Mate. " She turns her back to him.

"Summer I didn't dump you. You dump me through a f*****g text. Jullian has never been anything to me." He walks over to stand in front of her.

"Don't cuss in front of my daughter."  Summer is  looking at Aiko

Cord is looking at Aiko "Our daughter, I didn't break up with you."

"I texted and called you for a week when I left here. You never replied. " Summer whisper yells

"Can I hold her? Please." He is looking at their daughter

She hands Aiko to him

"Hey, cutie pie, you're beautiful just like your mommy. I'm your daddy." Cord kisses his daughter's forehead.

"Dada, dada, dada "Aiko smiles looking at him

"Summer did you hear her? She called me daddy" He smiles still looking at Aiko.

"Yes, I heard her. She has your eyes. What did you mean that I broke up with you in a text? " Summer is looking at Cord and their daughter.

"I saved it on my phone, I don't know why I did but read it."  Cord  hands her his cell phone

"Cord this isn't my number. That still doesn't explain why you didn't answer my text and calls."  She hands him back the phone

He looks at her. "Right after you left some rogues attacked. I lost my phone, I found it a week later. That message was on it. Your parents were gone on vacation. I called that number the text came from. It was a non-working number. Summer, why didn't you tell me, I have a daughter?"  Cord is patting Aiko's back. She has laid her head on his shoulder.

"When I came back you were already sleeping around. Then I had Aiko and three days later my father died. So I just didn't bother." She sits down 

"What about you and Chase?"  Cord asks looking at Summer

Summer looks away from Cord and Aiko. "He's a very special friend."

"What do you mean special friend? What is her middle name?"  Cord is looking at her

"I mean he's very special to me. Rielle" Summer looks at him

"Thank you for giving her my last name." Cord is hugging Aiko

Summer is looking at Aiko smiling "You're welcome'

"I want to be a part of both your lives. After all your my Mate and she's our daughter. I have never stopped loving you." Cord sits down beside her.

"I'm still trying to take the Mate thing in. Why didn't you come for me? " She is looking at him

"After reading that text would you have looked for me if I sent that to you?" He holds his phone up.

She shakes her head. "No, I guess not." Summer is looking at his phone.

"Summer I never slept with Jillian. Don't and never did have any feelings for her or anyone besides you. I still can't sleep at night. When you were gone I would come here and sleep in your room every night. I had to be close to you." He takes her hand

"I don't sleep at night much either. I wonder who sent that text?"  She looks at him

"The one person who would have the most to gain."  Cord kisses her hand

"Jillian. Well, that is the only person I can think of."  Summer is looking at Aiko. She has closed her eyes,

"We will find out who did it. I want Aiko and you. I want my family. Cord kisses  Summer's hand again

Knock knock knock

Her mother walks into the room She looks at Summer and Cord concerned. "Is everything okay?'

"Yes mother we are good"  Summer smiles

"I have some wonderful news. Chase found his Mate. Rachael said you two are Mates."  She smiles looking at them.

Summer didn't say anything, she feels a sense of loss. She knew their agreement was not to reject their mates if they found them. She loves Chase and Cord

" Yes, ma'am we are. Can I start calling you mom again?" He looks at Julia

"I didn't know you had stopped. Julia smiles 

"Summer you didn't say anything when I said I want my family." He is looking at her concerned

"Okay. She smiles looking at him.

"Don't play with me Summer" He shakes his head.

Believe me, Cord I wouldn't do that. But first, we still have dinner to attend. After all, Aiko has  already claimed you." Summer rubs their daughter's head

" Yes, she has.  She knows I'm her daddy. He kisses their daughter's head.

"We still need to deal with the person that sent the fake text. But not tonight, I will fill you in, tomorrow mother." Summer is walking to the door.

Her mother nods her head. 

Cordell is walking behind her " I have to introduce our Aiko to my parents. Let them know I  my mate is back"

"If I find out you lied to me about anything Cordell. I will not hesitate to have you killed. "Summer stops walking she turns to look at him.

"I have told you the truth. I didn't break up with you. I only received that one text from you." He softly rubs her cheek. He reaches for her hand

"Okay, It better be the truth." Summer nods her head.

"I Cordell Adam McMillan accepts Summer Renay Castle as my Mate"

"I Summer Renay Castle accepts Cordell Adam McMillan as my Mate."

Cordell kisses Summer and Aiko, "I have two of the most beautiful girls in the world."
