Scarlet’s file had details of all werewolves from the continent of Australia. A few decades back all the werewolf packs had come together to form a better structure in order to manage their territories.

The seven old clans (the Silver Moon, the Death Moon, the Blood Moon, the Wolf Moon, the Pink Moon, the Red Moon and the Blue Moon) took the responsibility of smaller packs within their territories. These territories coincided with the human-made territories. This was a big shift from the olden days where some of the territories were not laid out along the political borders of the Australian States and Territories.

The Silver Moon and The Death Moon clans were already in an alliance with the Blood Moon so they did not have much friction with the new demarcation of territories.

The 6 packs along with the Blood Moon were together a formidable force in the last century and helped the Australian werewolf world grow.

In 1970, Alpha Waru flipped. No one knows what happened but he started a ma*ssacre of witches. Out of the six clans, only Silver Moon and Death Moon continued their alliance with Waru while the other four parted ways. They were still friendly territories but they wouldn’t officially agree to indiscriminate killing of the witches.

Waru’s influence was all over the continent. He had close friends in these clans who would report any witch activity to him. He was running sleeper cells and covert operations in the other territories. When they would get to know about a witch, Waru’s men would become active, track the witch and her family and have them killed. Some freak accidents that killed witches around the country had Waru's name written all over them.

The files gave Scarlet the name of the clans and the packs they controlled, their territories and the names of their Alphas and Betas. She was supposed to meet all Alphas of every subordinate pack after meeting the Clan leader.

She was doing the rounds of the continent, making sure that each and every Alpha was personally invited. But she desperately wanted the trip to end soon. Kirra’s birthday was nearing. Scarlet had been given only 20 days to meet over a dozen packs.

Good, she was a fast runner or she would never have managed this feat. Some days she met more than 1 pack, each from a different territory. She never stayed and was constantly on the move. Her sole intent was to ensure that the meetings were completed soon and she could return to be with Kirra for her birthday.

By 19th Jan, she had met every other pack and ensured the visit of guests from those packs. She moved towards the last one, the Silver Moon clan, happy that she had an extra day in hand. She had plans to spend it with Kirra. She wanted to be consumed by their lovemaking.

Silver Moon was located in Western Australia (WA) and controlled the southern part of WA through 3 smaller packs that managed the North, East and Western regions. The northern part of WA was the territory of the Blue Moon pack who she had finished meeting the previous day.

She had then proceeded to check with the Beta of the Silver Moon clan to confirm the timings of the meeting. Jeremy, her PA had done a good job of managing the calendar. He had fixed these meetings in the first couple of days of January even though the people were partying.

He was a human but was very efficient with his job.

The alpha’s family was known to be the fiercest of all. She planned to meet the Alpha, give him the invitation with the necessary information, finish meeting the Alphas of the three packs in the same day and return to her Kirra.

She reached Alpha's house in the Mundaring Forest at the time of her appointment. It was close to her house in the Jarrah Forest area. She intended to visit Albert’s grave. It had been a long time since she had visited home. After meeting Kirra in 2012, she had started living in a house near Myponga. It didn’t make sense to live so far away as she could continue her work from any location. Working with the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia allowed her that freedom.

She reached Alpha Leo's house. He was the elder of the two brothers. He had called in all the Alphas from the three packs that were controlled by them. They had a meeting regarding some rogues. Their meeting had started early in the morning and Beta Charlie had called her towards the end of their meeting so that she could meet all the pack leaders.

Worked well for Scarlet as she could give her invitations to everyone without having to travel to each pack’s house.

She passed on the letter that Waru had given to the Omega who opened the door. The Omega was expecting her and ushered her to the Alpha’s office.

The entire east wing of the first floor was converted into an office. There were two cabins and a conference room lined next to each other at one end of the office space. The rest of the space had small workstations for people, actually werewolves, to work.

Today, although it was Friday, the stations were empty. Through the glass partition of the conference room, she saw men in black suits sitting around the oblong table.

Alpha Leo was a smart cookie who had a construction company. Some of his work was managed through this office. He also owned offices in Perth where he had humans working for him.

Scarlet entered the masculine space and was ambushed with the most exquisite scent possible. She was shocked at the scent of berries that teased her nostrils. It affected her at different levels. Her body suddenly wet with desire for whoever that scent belonged to, her most basic instinct was to look for that person and protect him/her!

The Omega requested her to go to the conference room and left. She didn’t know what was happening. It looked like there were only men in the conference room. For as long as she remembered she had never been attracted to men. Her heart belonged to women and after turning into a vampire when her heart stopped beating, she still belonged to women. Who was doing this?

She entered the conference room, introduced herself and shook hands with Leo. He requested the members in the meeting to introduce themselves to Scarlet, letting them know that she was there to extend an invitation to Kirra’s Alpha ceremony.

Each Alpha gave his name, introduced his Beta and shook hands with her. The last man in the group was Alpha Lucas Rott who was seated opposite Leo. The scent of berries was still there, nagging her. It wasn't any of the men who were making her body quiver.

Lucas walked over to her, shook her hand and gave a friendly smile. His freckled face had a boyish charm. He looked towards a small door behind Leo and said, “there is someone else that you should meet. My employer is shy so stays away from the crowd.” He walked towards the door and beckoned her.

She followed him. The door opened into a large office that was next to the conference room. It had a huge glass office table with an office chair behind it and two chairs for the visitors in front of it.

To the left of the room was a huge black leather couch. A voluptuous female dressed in a well fitted Gucci suit sat on the couch with the most sensual smile ever. The teal colour of her suit complemented her dusky skin. She had paired it with a cream top and cream Louis Vuitton ankle boots. Scarlet could make out the bulge of her breasts through her well fitted suit. The cream top revealed a hint of her cleavage. Her office look was complete with pearl earrings and a pearl necklace. Her personality screamed power but her smile screamed s*x! A few ringlets of curly hair had escaped her bun. Scarlet’s mouth went dry seeing her. She fell hopelessly in love the moment their eyes met. Now she knew where the enticing berries were.

She could hear the girl's heart flutter. Scarlet couldn’t stop herself as she walked towards the girl. For her, no one else existed at that moment. It was just the two of them.

She offered her hand to the green-eyed beauty. “Hi, I am Scarlet. You are beautiful.” She took the girls hand to her lips and kissed the back of her hand.

The girl did not flinch with her cold touch. What was she? Was she used to being around vampires? Her fluttering heart and warm body clearly showed that she was a human. But, what was she doing in this meeting of the Alphas? She wanted to know all about this sumptuous beauty.

The girl continued smiling with her perfect kissable lips. “Hi Scarlet, I am Jade.” She released Scarlet’s hand, stood up and brought her palms together and said, “Namaste. I somehow find greeting a new person with Namaste far more fulfilling.” Her voice was the most sensuous voice Scarlet had ever heard.

Scarlet mimicked the position of Jade’s hands, “Namaste to you too. So are you an Indian? What are you doing here?”

By now Lucas had reached her. He patted on her shoulder and said, “I know you girls are bonding big time. But Scarlet, you are here for a reason and as you can see we are all really busy here. Why don’t you finish your work with us and stay over for lunch.” He winked at Jade and continued, “I am sure Jade would like to have a chinwag.”

Scarlet composed herself as she remembered the job she was supposed to do. That also reminded her of Kirra. Guilt churned her gut.

Kirra and she had been together for over a year now. She politely accepted the offer to stay for lunch. “Won’t Jade join us at the table for the meeting?”

“Unfortunately not. She distracts everyone at the meeting so she is usually requested to join in only when needed. She doesn’t even visit that often. I represent her in the meetings whenever needed.”

“Alright, let’s go.” Scarlet nodded. She said bye to Jade and unwillingly walked back to the huge table, where the nine men were seated. What was Jade’s relationship with Lucas? Would Jade be interested in her? What would she do about Kirra? She had to tell Kirra about this.

Lucas cleared his throat. Scarlet cringed. She wasn’t a person to get lost in thoughts, yet Jade's presence had sidetracked her thoughts.

“Sorry gentlemen, your guest distracted me.” She nodded at the men in the room who smiled understandingly. “Before I delay your meeting any further, let me formally invite you to Kirra’s anointing ceremony. She turns eighteen on the 21st of Jan and the ceremony will happen at Myponga on their ancestral ceremonial ground. I was going to visit each one of you personally but thanks to Alpha Leo’s smart Beta, I could meet you all here, under one roof.”

She passed on the invitations that she was carrying in the file in her handbag. They asked a few questions about permissions and directions.

Everyone agreed to visit. With that, they took a break for lunch and walked out of the office.
