Prince Ken was sweating profusely even though the weather was not too hot. The reason why he was sweating was because he was going to meet his father after his father just saw him shouting at his future brother in law. He snorted at that. In-law in deed! If he had a choice, he would say that they should hang Fallon and her brother to rid the earth of them because they are not worth the air they are breathing. They are vile and take pleasure in other people pain.

And that is one of the many reasons why he cannot marry Fallon. She doesn't like it when others are happy so that means that if he does marry her, he is going to be miserable or she will be miserable. They both cannot be happy at the same time.

There are other reasons why he cannot marry her, reasons like, if he does marry her, he cannot produce an heir because his skin crawls to be away from her. How could he produce an heir when he cannot perform. Then there is the fact that she acts so bratty. If she is a queen, she will be a queen in name only, he would have to shoulder both his responsibilities and hers because the only quality of a queen that she has is beauty then grace sometimes. She is not calm either is is patient, don't even think towards gracious and merciful. She is the exact opposite of those two words.

" come in. Son. " the king said as he gulps loudly then opened the door of his father study.

" shut it behind you. " he father ordered when he wanted to leave the door open. There goes his last plan of escape. Now if he gets into a shouting match with his father, it would be hard for servants to hear and when they do and get to call his mother to intervene, she can't because the door is shut.

" what was that about son. " the king asked in an angry tone that made the hair on Ken neck to stand. The king don't need to raise his voice before he gets a response like this from others.

" he got on my nerves. " Ken said

" and pray tell how did he do that son. " the king said and when Ken kept quiet he continued " is it by talking about his sister who is going to be your future wife or by talking about you accommodating your future brother in-law. "

" if I have my way, none of that will happen. " Ken spat out in anger as he father raised his eyebrow and relaxed back on his chair. " father you know that I cannot stand Fallon. "

" and why is that. She is a pretty girl. "

" and that is all there is to her father. She is pretty but nothing else. "

" she is respectful. " the king added after a while of being quiet.

" only to those who can benefit her cause. She shouted at the head cook when they sent a bowl of custard to her room. She then proceeded to insult her . " when the king made no move to talk which shows that he doesn't see the point of the conversation. " she was the head cook when you were my age father. "

The king was quiet at that but he still continues " her station is lower than Fallon own so I don't see anything wrong in what Fallon did. "

" Father, listen to what you just said. That means that if there is quarrel between our people, she will side those whose stations are higher than the others who are also involved in the quarrel "

" I am sure that those things can be fixed. " the king dismiss the argument.

" those are just one in a million father. " Ken cried

" then I am sure you will tackle them one after the other... After your wedding. " the king concluded.

" I will not get married to her. " Ken shouted frustrated at the conversation which is not going anywhere.

" what is it that you have against her. " the king roared matching the same tome that his son used.

Ken kept quiet for a while as he thought quickly, right now the only way to get his father to back off about this marriage is to use his parents story as his own. His father was almost forced to marry some one else but he already loved his mother so his father fought against the command that his grand father issued. Right now, the only way for him to escape is to use that same story.

Looking at his father straight in the eyes, his father smile died when he noticed the serious look on Ken face. " because I am in love with somebody else.

His father flinched at that when he realised that he almost forced his son into something he ran away from when he was young.

" do I know her son. " the king asks softly.

Crap. He never knew that his father will switch gears so soon. He have to be vague as possible until he gets to talk about this to Jared " maybe. " he replied.

The king eyes narrowed at that. " it is either I know her or I don't son. "

" how will I know who you know and don't know. " Ken defended himself and his answer.

" is she an elite. " the king asked.

Ken bristled at that. " of course she is an elite. I will not fall in love with some commoner. I know my boundaries father. "

" it is okay. " his father said quickly. " no need for you to get all protective of her. " the king chuckled. " just like how I was protective of your mother when I was younger. "

" I know. " Ken nodded. " that was how I knew that she was the one. "

" why haven't you brought her to the castle yet. " the king asked.

Ken froze at that. It is true. He would have brought her to the castle since even if it was to get his mother off his back. " well... she is kind of shy and we wanted to keep it under the wraps. "

" are you sure she is shy. I don't know any elite who is like that. " the king asked with narrowed eyes as he began to doubt his son story.

" see, this is why I told you that maybe you know her. I don't think you do. " Ken laughed nervously after finishing his statement.

" is she from this kingdom. " the king asked.

" of course " Ken replied instantly only to bite his tongue, why on earth will he narrow the location like that.

" well, you better work with her to over come her shyness. Princess Fallon will be here in a week. The council would want to know which one will make the best and I suggest that you tell her to hide her shyness. "

" can't you just tell Fallon not to come. "

" I need to give reasons to the council and besides, she already knows, why did you think she sent prince Flynn to come first. She expect that as soon as she reaches here, the engagement will be announced and she will send for her parents for the wedding. " the king explained to his son who did not bother to hide the horror that showed on his face.
