CHAPTER ELEVEN It was another unusually hot day, and Elliot was already sweating buckets before noon. It didn’t help that he and Gwen were having to move furniture upstairs today. They’d already taken up three beds, three nightstands, countless tables and chairs, rugs, curtains—anything you could possibly need and then some. Elliot wiped his forehead with the bottom of his shirt. He normally didn’t mind manual labor. In fact, he usually enjoyed it. But he hadn’t slept well last night, and he’d woken up in a bad mood. And now, Gwen wanted him to start assembling the furniture. Apparently, his little sister wanted to make him suffer today.
