Chapter 9: Attack

After a moment of silence, the next two fighters got in position... The atmosphere so so heavy. Hikari against Alex Hayama... Dusk is tied on a pillar and the principal that is just next to him... Is ready to announce the start of this fight...
"Let the fight between Hikari Ianku and Alex Hayama, begin!"
--- As he approached him, Hikari's stare pierced right through Alex, who was quietly standing in the same place where he was at the beginning.
Thinking about how he should approach his opponent, Hikari started thinking: "He stands with his hands in his pockets and just looks at me. I also don't see any kind of weapon in his possession..." but then, Dusk's words resounded within him once... "Watch your weapons..."
"Maybe he has some sort of power to copy opponent's weapons or even powers... There's only one way to figure it out." he thought
Hikari took out one of his lightsabers and with his incredible speed that seemed impossible to react to, approached Alex... But nothing happened...
"Did I just... miss?" muttered Hikari
Then turning over to face his opponent, he witnessed Alex holding his lightsabers... And not only the one Hikari used, but them both...
"What the-? How did he manage to get them?! I didn't feel anything!"
"Wow, these are so light! That's why they call them lightsabers?" asks Alex while intently staring at the lightsabers he just stole.
After that, he pointed one sword at Hikari and said:
"Let's see who uses these better!"
Then he charges towards Hikari with high speed, but Hikari easily dodges all of his attacks with no problem.
"You have some speed, but don't think you can win just because you have my weapons!" said Hikari
Then, Hikari drew out his two guns and started shooting light bullets towards Alex. But while Alex blocked the bullets with the swords he said: "You know I can steal those too, right?"
"Just try, you burglar!" shouted Hikari
Alex just made a really angry expression...
"In this situation, it is better to approach sine he is using a ranged weapon. Also, my power can be used only if I am at a close distance to him... If I can get the guns I can win easily..." thinks Alex
While Alex was thinking about his next move, Hikari threw the guns in the air, and without thinking anything more, he charged straight at Alex without any weapon in hand...
In just a fraction of a second, Hikari can be seen with his lightsabers, holding them against Alex's neck, thus turning the tables...
"I knew it... He can steal weapons, but that doesn't mean I can take them back..." muttered Hikari
"Hikari Ianku gets the win! Good job, you get, nothing!" shouted the principal.
"But since you won, you can leave now... Same with this weirdo that is tied to the pillar! The rest of you, back to training!" he added.
Then, everyone went back to the training fields to continue the lessons, with the exception of Dusk, Hikari, Fabio and Alex... Hikari and Dusk left the training field in opposite directions, then, in one of the corridors...
"Yo mate, that was so cool, you are awesome!" said Fabio
"I don't like this guy... He is too friendly to me... He wants something from me..." thinks Hikari while continuing walking towards the dorms.
"Oh and also, how did you become this strong?" asked Fabio
"From training... I do this since I was little. What about you? I see you've got some skills..."
"It's a funny story, my friend! I was playing video games, and one day, I just came with the idea: "Why not enter the army?" and then, I ranked first at my school... Pretty funny, right?" explained Fabio, leaving Hikari on the spot with a dumbfounded look on his face.
And so, the two of them then continued walking...
--- A day has passed since the fight between the transfer students with Dusk and Hikari. Everything seemed to be normal... Until the next night... On a corridor, we can see every student from the second year, mage classes, late at night, and moreover, they were all whispering about something. Then randomly, Dusk came out from the bathroom, everyone staring at him...
"Umm... What are you all doing here at this hour?" asks Dusk with a really sleepy expression.
"Dusk? What are you doing here?" asked Maya
"That's what I was asking..." replies Dusk
"Can we just kill him to spare us from explaining?" asks Mikage whispering with a sarcastic tone.
"Okay, I will explain. We are gathered here because of an order..." said Maya
"Order? What order? I didn't hear anything about an order..." said Dusk
"It's only for second years, but since you are here, it can't be helped... I will tell you..."
"We don't have much time, but the short story is... We are being attacked by the corrupted..." said Mikage.
Dusk's expression changed fast... He doesn't look surprised but rather angry...
"What did you say?" he asked with an angry tone.
"We don't have much time to explain, but since you are here, you are going to help us."
"Tsk, let me get Hikari, he will be a good help..." said Dusk
"No, you can't bring here a first-year student, moreover a normal class one..."
"But he would be of better help than most of you..."
"No "buts", we are going now! There ain't much time!"
The squad formed of second years and Dusk got on the top of the wall that surrounded the school... The school is surrounded by a huge wall, with magic that can protect them from the corrupted... But that magic seems to be weakened by something now... There we see troops with fire weapons shooting down the wall... Also, in a zone of the wall, the principal was here giving orders...
"Captain, we are here!" said Maya saluting.
"Good, we needed more help..." said the principal and then turned around.
"What is Dusk doing here?" shouted the principal, very surprised.
"I am sorry, I am the one who brought him here. I will take his punishment!" said Maya
"Don't worry... It is good that he's here. Now Sanae, get your position!"
"All right team! I will stay here trying to snipe them off. Mikage Hakuren, take the lead of the squad!" said Maya
Mikage shakes his head in approval and salutes. Then the principal grabbed a hold of Dusk...
"If you want to survive, stay close to your team and follow the orders of the commander. You are allowed to use magic as long as you don't destroy the wall in the process... You know what would happen if you do..."
"Yes, sir!"
And then, Mikage's squad as well as Dusk jumped from the wall, right in the middle of the corrupted, ready to fight them all...
The battlefield is full of the strong smell of anger and kill desire... The corrupted have an army three times larger than the fighters from SenMa Academy.
"Stay close to each other!" shouted Maya
The corrupted already injured a few students that were fighting. Even though the fighting squad already killed some of the corrupted, the losses are pretty big, not counting that the army's leaders are still hidden somewhere. The fighting squad got a good strategy, having the big, strong soldiers in front, ranger mages in the back and healers behind...
"Try to protect the first years!" shouted a soldier.
They got the order to protect them, that being the reason that only Dusk out of all the first-year students was here.
"Tch... Like I'd need any kind of protection from you!" muttered Dusk...
Magic: Death Spear
With those simple words, Dusk's magic caused an explosion so strong, that killed all the corrupted near his squad.
"What the-?"
"That much power!"
Everyone in the squad is astonished by his strength, but have no time to think about that at all... The corrupted attacked the squad in a second wave... It surely got tougher...
Then, Dusk remembered the principal's words... Something bad might happen if he were to use too much power.
"Looking at how many attacks every wave, they are surely not scared of using most of the troops. They are treating this more like a war of wear. We are at a disadvantage..." thinks Dusk
"I could use my scythe, but that damn Mikage didn't let me go to my room first..." he continued.
A group of corrupted came straight to Dusk's squad but got sniped by Mikage's magical rifle.
"That's three in one shot, a new record!" shouted Mikage.
Then... A huge wave of corrupted approached the squad...
"What the-?"
"What is this?" say some of the squad members, not being able to comprehend what they were witnessing.
"I can't see where their army ends!" says Maya
Then, the corrupted army charges to the squad with incredible speed...
"They got faster?" shouted a squad member.
They managed to take out a good number of them, but the fighting squad got exhausted...
"There are still that many of them?!" shouted Maya, completely exhausted.
"Not good... I can't use more magic... I have to keep my magic under control and they are already too many to have control over them..." thinks Dusk
The corrupted got very close and started fighting once again with the squad members, then... From the wall's direction, someone could be heard shouting...
"Stop! You can't do that, are you crazy, normal class?!"
At that moment, Dusk looked at the wall and saw someone jumping from it with only one knife in hand... He was Hikari...
Hikari killed one corrupted when he got on the ground, and then drew his swords, killing every corrupted near the squad...
"Who planned a party without inviting me?" asked Hikari
A corrupted appeared behind him, but he doesn't react, because the corrupted got immediately sniped off by a sniper bullet, that was shot by none other than...
"Three in one shot you said?!" shouted Fabio while setting his sniper near Mikage.
And then, with only one shot, Fabio took down 7 corrupted at once...
"+700 score! Still not close to my record but decent!" said Fabio while laughing.
Mikage could only look at him with astonishment, as Fabio was continuously taking down the corrupted.
"Everyone who still has the guts to fight, now you can do it!" said Hikari while looking at the horde of approaching corrupted.
"If only I had my scythe..." said Dusk, but quickly gets interrupted by Alex that just got behind him, holding his scythe.
"What soldier goes to the battlefield without his weapon...?" asked Alex
"Thanks!" said Dusk, and then went to Hikari's side.
"You thought about everything, didn't you?" asked Dusk
"Of course I did!"
"Now... Are you ready?" asked Hikari
"Just try not to get in my way!" said Dusk
Then, Dusk, Hikari, Alex and also some other soldiers charged into battle...
