Finally, exams have been completed but what should I do in the holidays. After thinking a lot, I decided that I will attend guitar classes. I have always been one to love guitars, but I have to convince my parents first which is a very easy task. Ugh!! Mark the sarcasm! I know if I ask my father, he will definitely say no, so I have to ask my mom. With thoughts in my mind, I entered the kitchen. "Maa, you know that our exams have completed, and we have two months holidays," I said to her playing with my fingers. "Yes I know, now tell me what you want to do in holidays," my mom asked while cutting some veggies. "How did you know that I was going to ask you about this one?" I questioned her with wide eyes. "I know my daughter well enough.” she smiled turning to me to which i smiled wide, “So now tell me what are your plans for holidays?" she asked me. "I want to take guitar lessons,” I replied in a low tone expecting a no from her because I know my father will never agree to this. He thinks only boys have the right to learn these things. "Let me think about it," mom asserted while tapping her finger on her chin thinking about something. I know what's going to happen now that she will say no to me. "Ok!" she said, looking at me. "Really...??" I questioned her not believing what I’ve just heard. "Yes Naina you can take guitar lessons," she repeated. I hugged her with a broad smile on my face. "Thank you so much maa" I squeak while parting from her. She kissed my forehead, and I ran like a happy kitten to my room. The rest of the day I was just smiling that I am finally going to learn guitar. At night we had dinner and I went to my room. Everything has been peaceful and serenity prevailed. The next morning, my mom and I went to the institute to know about the details of courses and about the fee. After learning all these details, I am now officially a student who’s eager to learn the principle rules to become a guitar player. Finally, I joined the institute, and I will have my classes at 10 am. As my father will go to office at 9 am, thus I don't have any problems. They have informed us that the classes will start from tomorrow. Yayyyy!! "Naina, be careful and don't let your father know about it," my mom warned me. She doesn’t want me to get scolded. I may not have friends, but my mom is my best friend, and I love my mom very much. "Ok maa, I’ll be careful. Don't stress about it. I’ll be extra careful, I promise," I assured her. She nodded and went to kitchen to cook lunch. The rest of the day I just keep wondering what will happen tomorrow. Next day, I got up early in the morning before my mom wakes me up. I got ready and went downstairs. "Did sun rise from West today?" my mom joked while rubbing her eyes trying to believe whether what she’s seeing is true or not. "Stop it maa. I am so excited to go to guitar classes," I said while hugging her. "Naina, don't say it out loud. Your father might hear you," she whispered while checking our surroundings to make sure my father is not there. "Sorry maa," I lower my voice and walked to dinning table to have my breakfast. I eat my breakfast as normal as I could trying to suppress my excitement. I wait for my father to go to office, so that I can go to class. "Naina, your father went to office," my mom informed me, standing by the door. I jumped in joy and collected my things. Waving a goodbye, I jumped on my bike. Guitar lessons, here I come. I arrived not too long to the institute, but I became lost finding my way to the classroom. I kept walking until I find someone who is holding a guitar and standing in the opposite direction to me. I decided to ask him for directions. "Do you know where the guitar class is going to be held?" I asked the guy whose head has been casted on his guitar. He raised his head, and I was met by familiar hazel eyes. Yes, those eyes belong to none but my crush. OMG is this really happening? Why is he here? "Hey,” he said with wide eyes. “Actually, I don't know about it. I was about to ask someone," he explained while pulling the guitar to his left shoulder. "Umm..ok," I gulped turning around to see someone. "Let's find one together," he suggested. Together how nice it sounds when he says it. "Hello, what are you so deeply thinking about?" he asked waving his hand in front of me. I winked several times, then nodded my head in a no. "I didn’t know that you also like to play guitar," he asked while entering the class. Finally, we found our class. He doesn't even know my name, so how on earth he would know about my likes and dislikes. I just laughed at my statement. "I don't like it, in fact I love playing it, but I don't know how to play," I confessed. He continued saying "I love it too and I know the basics of it," he spoke while keeping his guitar in position. "Good morning class," a loud voice made us focus on him. A tall guy enters the class, he looked in his thirties, and he watched at us students. "Good morning, sir!" we said in unison. "Excited to learn guitar...?" He asked us while writing our names on some piles of sheets in front of him. What's going to happen? I thought and continued listening to him. "So now come and pick a chit," he ordered us. All of us moved in turn to select a chit. Now, it's my turn and I grabbed one. "Now open your chit and see who is your partner," our teacher said. Students opened their chits. I opened my chit and see....and I read.... the letters were crystal clear. Oh boy! Yup, you’re guessing right! I saw Arjun’s name. "So now go and sit with your partners," our teacher commanded. With a wobbly feet, I sat without embarrassing myself near Arjun. "Since the first step of our work is done. It’s time to know the name of your instructor.Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Manik Malhotra. Likewise, we all have one common interest which is our love to playing guitar” He said and continued, “and I am here to teach you how to play guitar, so did you all brought your guitars with you." He clarified and I stared at everyone. Everyone is ready with their guitars except me. I stood up. "Sir, I don't....I don't have one," I stammered on my words. "What happened?" Sir asked me. "Sir....I don't have a guitar" as soon as I uttered these words, everyone started laughing at me. "Haha...You came to learn a guitar without a guitar" a boy in back seat scoffed. "Ohh poor girl, now what are you going to do," another girl giggled. Students exploded with laughter. "Quiet everyone" Mr. Manik frowned and glared. Then he barked at everyone which lead to everyone to bite their tongues. "And you don't you know you should’ve brought a guitar with you!" he interrogated me. Tears started to form in my eyes. I am on the verge of having a cry attack, if there’s such a word in the dictionary?! ************************************ What will happen now..?? Arjun is Naina's partner What will Manik do...?? Thoughts?
