When Dani went back into the room, Blake was smoking with his back to her. Hearing the sound of the door close, he looked back and asked coldly, “Is she really gone?”
As soon as Dani heard him ask about Lola, the smile froze on her face and a trace of ferocity flashed across her eyes. Seeing him look over, she immediately said “feebly”, “Blake, she cursed us before she left, saying that we would get our Karma one day.”
Blake’s face darkened. He glanced at Dani and suddenly spotted the paper in her hand. “What’s that?”
Dani tried desperately to hide the paper behind her back. She forgot to put the agreement away! “No-nothing.”
Blake grew even more suspicious when he saw her try to hide it. He strode over and grabbed the paper from her hand. When he saw the terms of the agreement, his eyes narrowed. “Did you ask her to sign it?”
His cold voice made Dani shiver slightly. She had never seen him so mad. “No, I didn’t,” she immediately denied it. “Lola gave it to me, saying that she didn’t want to have anything to do with you anymore.”
Seeing the anger in Blake’s eyes grow denser, she added fuel to the fire. “She also said she felt sick at the thought that she has married you and slept with you, and that the three years she spent with you was a stain on her life.”
Enraged, Blake smashed the coffee table beside him with a punch. The next second, blood oozed out of the back of his hand.
“Blake, you got injured!” Dani immediately rushed over, trying to check his injury, but was pushed away by him. He turned around and asked, his eyes bloodshot, “What else did she say?”
“She said she's never loved you and she married you simply because you could help her family out.”
Blake stubbed the cigarette out irritably and walked up to the window. Everything outside was trembling in the howling wind and the heavy snow turned the scene into a blur. The wind was so strong and the snow was pouring down. What if something happened to that blind woman in such bad weather? At the thought of the bruises on her body and the possibility of her falling in the snow and getting in a car accident, he started to worry and regret. I’ve gone too far! Besides, he had the urge to catch up with Lola and asked if she really had never loved him.
Seeing him rush toward the door, Dani strode a few steps forward in haste. “Where are you going?”
Blake stopped in his tracks and looked back at her with mixed feelings. “She... she can’t see, and it’s snowing heavily. I can’t leave her alone outside.” He made up an excuse and ran out.
Watching Blake leave, Dani suddenly lost her composure. Why does he care about that b*tch so much? Has he fallen in love with her? What should I do? !
No, no, Dani, calm down. Blake can't possibly like Lola. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have let her give you blood for three years. He divorced her as soon as you woke up, so he must be loving you.
She felt a little relieved. It was right! If Blake really liked Lola, he wouldn’t have divorced her.
But what if he brings her back out of pity? She gritted her teeth and swore to herself that she wouldn’t let such a thing happen. She had a hard time kicking Lola out, so she would use every means to keep her from coming back.
