Feeling a burning pain in her face, Lola turned to Dani with a sneer, gasping from the pain in the corner of her mouth. She fumbled for a while before picking her clothes up and putting them on. Although she didn’t want to cry, tears kept streaming down her face. The moment she heard what Blake just said, she felt like thousands of arrows penetrating her heart.
She lifted her head and said to Dani, “If I didn’t keep giving you blood in the past three years, you might still be in a coma. You ungrateful woman, how could you treat your savior like this?”
Looking at her empty eyes, Dani felt a shiver down her spine and took a few steps backward. “You… you owe me! If your dad didn’t hit me while driving under the influence…”
“Shut up!” Lola immediately interrupted her. “My dad didn’t drink! I’ll find out the truth one day. I swear!”
Dani wanted to rush over and hit her again, but was stopped by Blake. He turned to Lola and said, “We're divorced. Since you want to leave, get out right now.” With that, he walked into the room.
Seeing Lola was about to leave, Dani rushed out and grabbed her arm. “You’ll have to sign an agreement before you leave.”
Lola shook her hand off with a frown. “I have already signed the divorce agreement.”
Dani took out another document, saying, “If you sign it, you’ll no longer be allowed to tell anyone about your marriage with Blake or address yourself as his ex-wife.”
After freezing for quite a while, Lola revealed a bitter smile. Dani is such a calculating woman! She wants to erase the fact that I’ve been with Blake for three years.
Dani became anxious when she saw Lola standing there in a daze. She tugged at her and shouted, “You don’t want to sign it? Obviously, you were not willing to divorce him. You want to win his sympathy so that he’ll remarry you one day, right?”
Lola felt like her head was about to explode. She clenched her fists and said, “Enough! I’ll sign it.”
Dani immediately handed her a pen and moved her hand to the signature line as if afraid she would take back her words. “Go ahead!”
Lola could imagine from her voice how excited she was. Anyway, she was going to leave and she didn’t want to have anything to do with Blake, so it didn’t matter if she signed the agreement or not. And if signing the agreement would get Dani to stop pestering her, she would love to do that.
She snorted and wrote down her name quickly. When she finished the last stroke of the signature, however, she felt a twinge in her heart and she trembled, tears streaming down her cheeks. She quickly wiped the tears away. No matter what, she wouldn’t let this woman see her crying. “Can I leave now?” She managed to sound calm.
Dani was looking at her signature in a good mood when she heard this, and she shouted impatiently, “Get out!”
Lola strode out with her luggage. She had been in the house for three years, so she was familiar with everything here. When she approached the gate, she suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked back. “You’ll get your Karma one day!”
Lola slammed the gate behind her and walked into the snow alone, leaning on her cane.
