I don't know how long I drift in and out of consciousness but all my senses were almost dulled down to nothing; but as the time got by, my senses were slowly returning. First, it was the smell of antiseptic and a faint tinge marshmallows and vanilla that bombarded my senses. Then, the sounds; clanging of metal against metal, an insistent beeping of a machine and footsteps echoing against hardwood floor. Third, it was as if a bright light has been shined over my closed lids. Fourth, the tingling and numbness of my fingers seemed to ebb away and pain replaced it. Unadulterated pain.
