Chapter 21 – Secrets of Blackshoals
Jerry was back on Blackshoals, lying on the wet rocky ground. The defenders were losing the fight at Gate 7, and he had just soiled himself. He stared in horror at the approaching Harowaith. He had heard plenty of stories of the famed assassins, but he had never seen one in the flesh. Until now.
“Breeder's will be done,” the Harowaith said. He raised his sword.
Corporal Brandon Woods appeared from out of nowhere and charged the Felid. “For Homestead!”
Jerry wanted to turn away. He didn't want to watch one of his men get killed right in front of him. But something compelled him to look. It was the same instinct, he supposed, that made one stare at an automobile wreck. He couldn't not look.
