Chapter 16 – Stranded
“The plan,” Glover said, “was to meet up with Exaltee Osynius and stay at his mansion. We can still do that if we make it to Seagate. But I have no idea where we are or how far we are from the city. We have a little water in the emergency kit, but not enough to trek very far across a desert.”
They had found a cave among the rock formations and now huddled inside. It was remarkably cool—almost cold—and well-protected from the scouring wind.
“We're in the Spotted Dunes,” Irylia said. “Those mountains in the distance are the Mourner Range. Seagate's on the other side. We'd have to walk at least thirty miles. Probably closer to forty or fifty.”
“Then that settles it,” Glover said. “We'll never make it that far across this desert. Our best bet is to wait to be rescued.
