Ruth hasn't seen Brian for quite some time, she is glad that he is the one that has come to take her home today instead if Adam.
During the ride home, she replays everything Lucy has said in her head.
She doesn't know if Adam has plans of dating her in the future, all she knows is that she is going to make a few things clear to him, after which he will have to stop entertaining any unnecessary thoughts about her.
"Brian, you have been pretty busy recently. I haven't seen you in like, forever," she says, pushing thoughts of Adam to the back of her mind as they make her angry.
"I travel a lot," Brain responds. "I am sure you know that."
Of course she does. But she quits trying to make conversation with him. He doesn't seem like he really wants to talk with her.
