Kate’s Point of View
Three months later.
“What do you think?” Rhys the designer asked me as he showed me the final designer of the alternative model of the car he was working on, I liked everything about it except for one thing which I hated about it.
“Why don’t we try to use Carbon fiber for the front?” I said turning around to look at the designer who smiled briefly at me before changing the screen.
“I actually had that in mind, but I thought we were going with a low budget vehicle?” He questioned me as he brought up the different costs on the screens.
“I know, but I am thinking of something else for it. Perhaps something for people with white-collar jobs? CEOs?” I suggested walking closer to the screen where he was doing his presentation.
“Speaking of CEOs, I was thinking of…” I wanted to say, but Charlotte cut me short, coming closer to where I was.
“You have a call,” She said to me, making me narrow my eyebrows at her. What was she found? I specifically told her I didn’t want to be disturbed.
“Katelyn, It's Allison” She mentioned to me as my frown quickly vanished, I rushed to the phone, turning away from her hand.
“Hello Ally, is everything okay?” I questioned her, worry in my voice as she sighed heavily.
“Kat Relax…. I called to let you know that I got in,” She said through the phone with excitement in her voice. I couldn’t help but yelp.“Oh, my god Ally! I am so proud of you” I said to her as she excitedly screamed through the phone.
“Kat, I can’t believe it I will finally get to my dream university,” She said to me as I chuckled through the phone, I couldn’t believe that my little sister was this happy about something after such a long time.
“I know sweetie… How about we celebrate tonight? I will come early to pick you up,” I said to her and I could hear her she was excited.
“Okay, I will see you soon,” She said to me, I said bye to her before cutting the phone.
“So?” Paula asked when she noticed I was smiling from ear to ear.
“Well, they have accepted ally at Oak university, can you believe it?” I said with so much pride in my voice, my sister was finally going to university. Maybe she can come and work here with me when she finishes? I always thought whenever she’s going to school.
“Whoa! That’s splendid news!” Paula said with excitement
“Yes, it is. Cancel any meeting after 5 pm. I want to spend time with her” I instructed Charlotte who nodded her head as I smiled at her before turning to talk to Rhys,
“Rhys, forgive me I had been….” I wanted to say, but he quickly cut me short.
“it’s fine. Was that your sister? How is she?” He questioned me as I reluctantly nodded my head, He always asked if Alison is okay whenever he had a chat with me.
“She’s fine. She just called me to let me know that she got to university” I explained to him as I extended my hand to get the tablet from him, I wanted to look at some different angle of the car.
“That’s great! Is she going to Oak university?” He questioned, I focused on the tablet because I didn’t want to respond to his question, I remember the last time he came to see me and asked about Allison he wanted me to invite him over for dinner.
“Can you try to work around the headlights and see what you can come up with? Also, I think trying to reduce the horsepower,” I instructed as I circled the areas I wanted him to look at.
“Yes, Ma’am” He responded with a grin as I handed him the tablet, “Thank you. I look forward to those changes” I said turning to walk out of the room.

“So where do you plan on taking Allison?” charlotte questioned me as I packed my things in my bag. It was time for me to knock off because I was going to pick up Allison.
“Well, we haven’t decided yet, but I am thinking maybe the horseshoe? Or steak house?” I suggested as I packed my handbag, picking it up from the ground.
“Well, sounds great isn’t that the place she always wants to go to? Did you get a table?” She asked me as I gasped. It had slipped my mind that was supposed to have had booked a table for us.
“Oh, s**t!” I cussed, palming my forehead as I looked at Allison’s picture. She would not let me be if I take her to just some restaurant.
“What am I going to do?” I questioned as I brushed my hair behind.
“Luckily, you have an excellent assistant…. I can pull some strings to let you go there if you let me take…” She wanted to say but stopped smiling at me vividly.
“Just spit it already…” I said to her, and she was now smiling ear to ear.
“Let me take next Friday off,” She said to me. Was she really bribing her boss?
“Paula?”
“Yes.” She said with a smile on her face.
“Forget it… I am not letting you take the ay off, matter of fact keeps the reservation okay.” I said to her with a broad smile on my face. I grabbed my bags and went to where she was standing.
“Thank you for booking the tables,” I said to her as I leaned in wanting to peek at her cheek but she moved her head away, I chuckled softly as I head for the door.
“Thanks, Paula!” I said as I stepped out of the office. She wanted to take her boyfriend to Florida, but I was not for the idea of sponsoring a man on a trip.
I went down to the parking lot and got in my car as I drove away going home; I needed to make sure I was there before Allison started complaining about not getting the attention that she needs.
I drove as fast as I could so I could get there on time, and luckily there was no traffic and I got there on time.
“Ally?” I shouted as soon as I entered the house, I wanted to just reach, pick her up, and then go. That’s what I had planned.
“I am here!” Her voice came from the living room.
“hey? Are you ready?” I questioned her as I went to the living room where she was.
“Yes, are you going like that?” She said looking at me from head to toe, I wore black office pants, a black blouse, and a royal blue jacket.
“Yes, is something wrong with it?” I said checking my outfit, I was okay with it, but why did she act like there was something wrong with it.
“We are going out, why do you have to be so formal?” She questioned me as I folded my arms, tilting my head to the left as I raised my eyebrows.
“Please, it feels like you are too old,” She said to me as I chuckled softly looking away. Did she just say that I look too old?
“What?” I said
“Come on! Just change into something else, maybe a little casual?” She asked me with her pleading voice.
“Fine, no need to cry” I jokingly said as I turned around to leave, “I am not crying” She shouted after me as I made my way out of the living room going to my bedroom, I never had many casual outfits so the only thing I was settling for was a jean and heels.
I got in my room and went straight to my closet; I looked around for jeans, a white shirt, a black blazer, and white sneakers.
I went to stand in front of the mirror as I sighed heavily; I hated looking like this. But today was all about Allison, so I had to do what she wanted.
I stepped out of the closet and found her smiling vividly, “What?” I questioned.
“Nothing, I just feel happy that I spend the entire evening tonight with you,” She said as I chuckled, pushing her away. She was crazy for sure.
“Come on, let’s go!” I said to her as we made of the bedroom going out. I wanted to make sure I keep her happy since it was her day.
“So where are we going?” She questioned me as I buckled up.
‘Well, you will know when we get there. I know you will like it” I said to her, and she smiled vividly.
“No way. Is it the horseshoe?” She questioned as I looked ahead, starting the car.
“What? I don’t believe it” She said to me giggling as I chuckled softly starting the car. We spent the entire time with her telling me about how she felt when she received the email.
I was so glad to see her so happy, and I really hoped that this was the moment that I was waiting for to let her be finally happy.
