“Do you have everything you need?” I questioned Allison as I packed the groceries nicely at the back of the car,

“Yes,” She nonchalantly responded,

“Okay, we can go now,” I said to her as she sighed heavily, “What’s wrong?” I questioned

“Well, I was thinking that maybe we can go to my university before we go home? I just want to …” She wanted to say but stopped halfway.

“Ally, we ….” I tried to speak.

“Never mind, I got excited forgetting that you have other responsibilities that are waiting” She mentioned as I sighed heavily It is like she knew my response. I did not think this time was the best time to go to university.

“I didn’t say we can’t go, my ‘other responsibilities’ Can wait, but how about I suggest something else to you?” I said to her as she looked at me curious what I was about to say to her

“How about we both go tomorrow morning before I go to work?” I suggested to her with a broad smile on my face.

“Really? You can do that with me?” She said to me as I nodded my head walking closer to her wrapping my arm around her neck

“You know I can do anything for you. So, what’s the big fuss about?” I said to her as she brightened up, hugging me tight, burying her face and her arms around my waist. I held her tight as I smiled at myself, it was refreshing not to have to deal with a moody Alison.

“Shall we go? We need to prepare dinner” I said to her as she held me even tighter.

“I love you so much Kate” She whispered to me as I nodded my head

“I know you do… Let us go now” I said to her, breaking the hug so that we can go home, we got in the car and I drove away going home.

After reaching home I sent a text to Paula to cancel any meeting that I have in the morning because I had to go with Alison to her university.

“No worries. Will do that,” she responded to me as I sent her smileys with a thank you note.

I dragged myself to the Kitchen where Allison was unpacking all the bags we had come with.

I watched her as she hummed to a song that I could not recognize, I smiled at myself seeing how happy she was after such a long time. I was ready to do anything for her to have that smile always.

“Kate are you ready?” Allison shouted as she entered my room, “I am here!” I shouted for her to come to my dressing room, I heard her shoes making their way to where I was

“What’s wrong?” She questioned as she entered my closet.

“I can’t find anything to wear, I was thinking I carry two. Formal for the office and jeans to go with you to university?” I questioned looking at her with a smile.

“Please wear something you can be comfortable with. I didn't want to start choosing for you what to wear” She said to me as I smiled brightly

“Really? That is good. Then let me wear this” I said to her, showing her my black office pants and white shirt. She smiled vividly looking at me. She knew that I would settle for something like this.

I quickly put on my clothes before walking out, but first I need to grab my royal blue boyfriend blazer jacket putting it on top, I fixed my hair as I checked myself in the mirror.

I looked oaky in the outfit, “One minute just need to…” I wanted to tell her as I turned to look for shoes to wear.

“Here.” She said handing me nude stilettos

“Wow! Seems like you are ready to leave” I said to her as she smiled at me

‘That’s because you will spend so much time looking for things you can easily find. Come on now. We will get there late” She said walking out of my closet first, I smiled vividly walking out.

I grabbed my handbag, and she took my laptop bag walking to the stairs so that she can go to the car, “Which car are we using?” she shouted for me as I followed her behind.

“The S-class Keys are …” I wanted to shout but I found she was already taking the car keys, I smiled at her following behind.

“You really want to see this university, tell me did the handsome Jacob apply there as well?” I questioned teasing her about her crush as I closed the door to our house.

“What? No, I just wanted-...” She wanted to say but I cracked up walking to the car

“I stopped crushing on Jason a long time ago, I have better things to do than have an unrequited love,” She said to me as she got in the car.

“Where’s Denis going to?” she buckled up handing me the keys after I got in as well,

“Well, he’s at the same university but he applied…” She wanted to say but she was disturbed by the ringing of her phone.

“Jason, Hi...” She said through the phone as I pursed my lips together so that I do not say anything while she is on the phone

“Okay great! See you” She said through the phone before cutting the call, “Jason hi” I mimicked her as I made her face, she playfully hit my shoulder making me c***k up.

It was very funny seeing her face blushing because of someone, throughout the drive we talked about what she wants to do once we get there and places she wants to check first.

We arrived at the university and I pulled over in the parking lot as everyone looked at us, I could feel their eyes on us. Why did she decide to come to such a university? I mean she could have gone to any university that she wanted but she had to come to this one.

“It isn’t so bad,” she said to me as I made my way out of the car,

“Well, it’s…” I wanted to say but stopped when some university kids started walking towards us, I sighed heavily as I looked at Allison who lowered her head.

“Let’s go!” I said to her as we started to walk to the administration block so that she can get a map and we can tour the university.

She had come here with Charlotte before applying but I just do not know why she insisted that we come back.

“Are you okay?” I asked her after I noticed that she was quiet immediately we got here

“Yes. I just-...” She wanted to explain but stopped as she looked ahead.

“What’s wrong?” I questioned her as I made her stopped in her tracks, “Nothing, I am just nervous. Don’t worry” She said to me as I nodded my head holding her hand.

We made our way to the administration block and go the site ma before we started our tour, unlike me, she did not want to study business but law.

“Let me take this,” Allison said after her phone rang, I walked towards the classrooms slowly as I waited for Allison,

“R v Dudley and Stephens 1884 criminal case. Look at that we will be discussing that next week?” I heard the man’s voice coming from one of the classrooms as the students started coming out, I moved aside to let the students pass.

“class starts at 7 am, You are late” The man shouted as I looked around wondering who he was talking to.

“I am talking to you” He shouted as he started walking towards me, I looked at the man who was casually dressed, He had the perfect blue eyes that I have ever seen in my life, his lips looked like they were begging to be kissed. I froze for a minute just staring at him

“Oh,” I said monotone as he raised his eyebrows.you

“Is something wrong?” He questioned me as I kept staring at him, for the first time in so many years I felt butterfly flutters in my stomach. I failed to utter any words but just stared at him.

“Forgive me, I….” I wanted to say after I came back to reality, I think I had been daydreaming as he put on a smile.

“It’s fine, just make sure that you come a bit early next time. You won’t…” He wanted to say but stopped when Allison called after me.

“Kate?” She shouted coming closer to me, “Hey? Are you done?” I questioned her swallowed hard, I was feeling hot just standing next to this man.

“Yes, Hello Professor Watson,” She said to him as he smiled, how did she know him? This was her second time here.

“Hello.” He said to Allison who was busy looking at me and back to the Professor.

“Please excuse me, I have another lecture. Make sure you come early tomorrow,” He said excusing himself as he walked away.

“Uh- What was that?” Allison questioned pointing to the professor’s direction as I bit my lower lip.

“Kate” She snapped her fingers a few times on my face bringing me back to reality

“huh?”

“What was that?” She questioned me as I shook my head nonchalantly

“Nothing, he mistook me for one of his students,” I said to her smiling briefly as she raised her eyebrows.

“And you didn’t correct him?” She questioned me as I looked at her with a puzzled face, she did not understand why I did it neither did I.

“Should we go back home now?” I said to her with a smile on my face,

“But I am not yet done,” She protested

“Okay no problem, we can go ahead and keep touring,” I said to her with a smile, but my mind was all about that man I met.

We went around the university by the time I was done it was already 11 am, “Why don’t you come with me to the company then we can knock off together?” I questioned her as we walked to the parking lot.

“No thanks, You knock off late plus what will I be doing while you are in your never-ending meetings” She questioned me as I faked a smile, I never used to have never-ending meetings.

“You can chat with Rhys, He’s back in the office these days,” I said to her as she stopped in her trucks,

“Rhys? Oh, that guy is so annoying. He doesn’t know when he is not supposed to express himself” she bluntly said, I let out a soft giggle looking at her.

“He’s not so bad, plus you are attracted to people with brains. So why not him?” I questioned her as we stood by the car waiting to get in.

“I don’t know, I have never found him to be attractive” She mentioned, we have always talked about men with her and it seemed like the norm to us.

“Try to find out more about him, you will be surprised>,” I said to her opening the door to the car,

“Just like you and Carson” She murmured after I got in the car, what was she talking about? Me and Carson?

“What did you say? Me and Carson? Now that’s a closed chapter for me and him” I mentioned to her as she buckled up.

“What about the professor? I saw how you froze back there.” She said while smiling broadly at me, I looked at her scoffing while starting the engine off the car.

“What? I did not freeze, I just didn’t-.” I wanted to explain myself but stopped seeing she was enjoying me being in this state with her eyebrows raised. I reversed my car out of the parking lot slowly

“Fine! He’s an attractive man that caused my heart to skip a beat but that’s it, it’s not like I will ever see him again plus I don’t have time to get involved with men” I said to her as she kept on smiling vividly.

“What? You seem to be enjoying all this right?” I questioned.

“No, I just find it interesting that you actually like a man meeting him for the first time. Is that what they call love at first sight?” She questioned me, but I decided to ignore her because I knew she would not stop talking about that man.

She was right, it was the first time that a man had such an effect on me. I kept thinking about him the whole time and hoping I would see him again.

I wanted to meet him again, but how could that happen? I needed to clear the misunderstanding between me and him.

He thought I was a student here, Like seriously. Did not he see that I looked old to be in school?

I sighed heavily as I thought of what I will do to see him again.
