VERA'S POV. The stone floor of the cell felt cold against my skin, a harsh contrast to the warmth that had enveloped me in my dream just moments ago. Slowly, I drifted awake, my head heavy and aching so bad it felt like it might fall off. I wasn't feeling so good. I felt weak and nauseous and every part of my body ached like I just walked out of a gladiator cage match. And yet even with all of these, a small sense of safety and comfort lingered somewhere in my mind. I could still feel the warmth around me somehow, even through the cold.
