Chapter 3

900 Words
Today is my last day of training before I go in front of ten peers that are going to test me and see what I can do to find out where to put me and if I graduate on time. I can honestly say that I'm scared, well maybe not scared but nervous. I train like every other day and am ready to take my knowledge test first thing in the morning. They will test me on everything I have learned and if it's not good enough then I’m screwed. I may get tossed on the streets for all I knew. I look at the time and see that's eight o’clock at night. I set my alarm and get ready for my big day.  I wake up to the sound of the alarm clock like always, Six am, get dressed and look in the mirror for the birthday wish I get. 18 exactly today, I walk out of the room and to the test area that they have set up. Everyone is walking out to the seats they get to watch from. Everyone is here, even Agent Mickel, and they are here to watch me. I have to be able to work under pressure, and in a timely manner. My long brown hair is in a bun, not really sure what I'm in for. They test everyone different from the skills, from what I've seen it’s hard and can really beat you up.  Someone walks up to me for my knowledge test, handing me a pencil and a packet. The point to chair for me to take this test at. I sit and do it like every other test in class I've been given. Once I'm done they take it away and hand it to the elders to go over it. They all nod and wave their hands for the next test. People start charging from all different directions, I fight them all with ease as I put them all down with my training. They all smile and then pull out weapons, they test just got harder, I have nothing but my hands to fight them off. They charge one by one with different weapons fighting them trying not to get hit to pass, I put them down but it was harder this time. They stand up hurt or limping.  “Well done, you have passed and now will graduate with honor.” “Thank you” Someone walks up to and leads me to a stand, they tell me to stand on it so I do. The elders come up one by one and shake my hand, thanking me for my service. The last one comes up and tells me my journey is just starting. I smiled at him and he smiled back so warm like. He then puts a metal around my neck and hands me a gun and badge. I take them willingly and stand there for a moment as everyone claps and yells. I get down and everyone crowds me, yelling congratulations, I then see Mickel walk up pushing through the crowd and whisper in my ear that I do have a mission, to go pack my things and he will be the one to give me the brief at headquarters. Once everyone started to calm down and go back to classes, I went to my bedroom and started to pack. Someone then came to my room and I had left the door open, I looked over to see who it was and it was one of my training teachers. He looked upset for some reason, I had to ask why. What he said shocked me, that I was one of the best students he had and was happy to see me pass. He was there to take me to the plane, so once I was done packing he walked with him to the airstrip outside. I hadn't seen the sun or felt the breeze on my skin since I had been brought here two years ago.  Once I got on the plane, Mickel and a few others were already on, I grabbed a seat that was open and got settled. I could still remember the fear I had felt when I first got on the jet, that fear was gone now. The plane took off and up in the air, we were going to Washington, and the plane ride was 15 hours. Once we landed I got out after the others, and walked to the car that was sitting out front. The car took off and to the headquarters, pulling up to a government building not far from the airport. The man that was driving got out and opened my door for me, I walked into the building after saying thank you. Someone was waiting for me to come in and told me where to go.  I walked to the elevator and up the floor and to the conference room. Mickel was waiting for me, I sat down across from him, he pushed over a folder and told me the details. I listened and read, studying the paperwork and what the faces looked like. A mob in Italy, someone was already infiltrated, but they wanted me in as a guard for the head of the mob. They already had a background chosen and credentials. I learned everything in the short time I had and on the plane to Italy I went.
