-Elena- It was late when I stood in front of the familiar white house again. The sun had set, leaving the small town shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by artificial lights. I was surprised to see that the house was dark. I had expected my aunt to be up, waiting to reprimand me. I had intentionally left my phone at home to avoid her angry texts and calls while I enjoyed some freedom with Erica. The evening with her had been wonderful. Erica made me forget my troubles and helped me savor the moment. We reminisced about old times and laughed so hard at the café that I nearly went into a cramp.
