DANIELA’S POINT OF VIEW

Today’s my official first day at work and I don’t have much to do, at least for now. I guess this will be a long boring day for me. Nathaniel left earlier, he told me to cancel all his appointments for the rest of the afternoon and I can’t go home unless office hours are done. What am I supposed to do now? I fixed my desk and cleaned the whole floor and right after cleaning, my phone rang when I checked to see the caller ID, mom’s the one calling me.

“Hey mom, what’s up?”

“Hi Honey, how are you doing?” mom asks sweetly, as usual, but I’m guessing that something’s up because mom’s not the type to call unless she has something important to say.

“I’m fine mom, why’d you call?”  I know I’m sounding arrogant while talking to my mom, but I know my family well.

“We’re having a dinner party tonight” she said seemingly trying to poke my interest. I couldn’t care less though.

“So?” I asked with a bored tone; hinting that I’m not interested.

“Come on now honey, what’s with the tone?”

I wanted to say ‘I’m giving you a hint that I don’t care’ but I don’t want to hurt my mom’s feelings; she is my mom after all; I wouldn’t be alive in this world if it weren’t for her.

“Nothing mom. What time’s the party?”

“Be here at 6. Don’t worry because everything’s been taken care of, just come here early and prepare.” She said excitedly.

“Alright but I’m getting off from work at 5 so I might be a tad late.” I explained.

“Okay honey, See you--”

“By the way Mom, is Daniel coming?” I asked as she was about to hang up the call.

“Of course! When did we even have a party that we weren’t complete?”

“Okay, See you guys later”

Guess I don’t have a choice but to go because Daniel’s coming. Sigh. The call ended and I’m back to doing nothing again. How was Aunt Ellaine able to handle this type of job? Oh well, I’m in no place to complain since I was the one looking for a job. Ugh! I’ll probably just go to the pantry and grab some food.

PANTRY

The pantry is located on the 3rd Floor of the building and this place is huge! I bought a Strawberry Milkshake and some cookies, and after paying I sat on the nearest table I saw and as soon as I got comfy in my seat, I opened Netflix on my ipad and started streaming my favorite series.

As I was reaching the climax of the episode someone sat in front of me. 

“Is it okay if I join you?” I looked up to see a handsome guy. He looks so manly and man is he ripped. I wonder how long he stay at the gym to work out.

“Sure” I smiled, and I was about to continue watching when he spoke

“Thanks, I’m Kurt by the way.” He smiled; and offered his hand.

“Daniela” I replied and shook his hand.

“Are you Nate’s new secretary?” he asked. I honestly don’t want to socialize right now because I’m getting to the good part of the story, but I think he’s not leaving me alone for a while, so I stopped what I was watching and looked at him.

“Sir. Nate” I corrected him and tried to smile politely.

“Nah, I’m his cousin so I’m free to call him whatever I want to.” he smiled and laughed. Oh my gosh.

“Oh my, I’m so sorry. Please don’t tell Sir. Nate that I was here during office hours. I just got so bored at the office because I had nothing to do and I got hungry, so I went here to grab some food.” I’m panicking. What if he rats me out and there’s a possibility that I might lose my job.

“Hahahaha! Don’t worry, I won’t tell him” he laughed once more and smiled at me. Wow, he’s charming.

“Thanks” I shyly smiled back. We talked longer and it turns out we have a lot in common and we got so indulged in our conversation until my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and it’s Daniel.

“Please excuse me” he nodded, and I moved away to have some privacy with my brother.

“Hey Dani, I miss you!” I said in a high-pitched voice.

“Where the hell are you, Daniela?! It’s already 4:30 and the party starts at 6!!” he screamed at me through the phone. Well, that’s one way of greeting your sister.

“Oh my gosh, I totally spaced! I’m about to get off from work and I’ll be there in a jiffy”

“My gosh Daniela, Hurry!!!!” he screamed at me once again before ending the call.

I rush back to the table and grabbed my stuff.

“Is everything alright?” he worriedly asked

“Yup. I’m terribly sorry Kurt but I have to go. It was nice meeting you!” I said waving at him as I take my leave.

“Likewise, Daniela, see you around!”

I rushed back to the CEO’s floor and hurriedly packed my stuff. I quickly double checked everything in case I forgot something but it’s all clear. I really need to hurry and hopefully I don’t get caught in traffic. They’re all gonna flip if I arrive late.

I ran towards my car, threw my stuff in, and drove to the mansion as fast as I can.

I drove my car as fast as I can to arrive at the mansion and luckily I didn’t get caught in traffic because if I did, I would arrive the mansion at midnight and my whole family is going to flip and my motto would be nullified.

I totally forgot about the party. But yeah. Luckily I arrived the mansion in 15 minutes and the highway patrol didn’t notice me over speeding.

When I arrived at the mansion, I saw my cousin/best friend Elizabeth Cooper near the door, and it seems like she’s waiting for me.
