Chapter Nine

1751 Words
Two weeks later and Roxy had put all her alpha issues behind her. She was now focused more on taking out her hurt and rage on the tree outside, as Brent had shown her.      "It is time to come in, honey," Esther yelled from the front porch.      Roxy had not noticed how dark it had become. "Coming."      She walked inside behind her mom and into the kitchen. "Roxy, I have something I wish to discuss with you."      "Okay, cool. So do I. But you go first."      "I have to leave for at least a week on a business trip. Sasha has agreed to let me come with her to show me some of the ins and outs of the business. It will really help me to learn more to make sure this club is more profitable this year than last. I will have my cell phone on me at all times, and I will check in at least twice daily."      "When will you be leaving?"      "Since tomorrow is Monday, I will be leaving out probably before you wake. Now, what is your news?"      "I will be graduating early. In one week. Since I am so much more advanced than the other online students and because of the credit difference here, they sent me an email this morning telling me my graduation will take place next Saturday."      Esther looked at her with proudness hidden behind her tear-soaked eyes.      "Mom, it is not a big deal. Please do not cry."      Esther glided over toward her and brought her close to her chest while wrapping her arms around her. "I am so proud of you, honey. You have worked so hard."      Roxy pulled away from her mom's embrace. "Yeah, since it is completely online, they will send my certificate in the mail. Today was my last day of classwork. It is kind of crazy because now I will have one less thing to occupy my time."      "Have you thought about college?"      "Before I did, but now it seems kind of pointless knowing what I am."      "Roxy, it is not pointless. If you want to go to college, then you should. There is a community college nearby. Maybe you could go and talk with an advisor. They could help you make a decision. You can live a normal life if you choose it, you know."      "I will consider it."      They were interrupted by a light knock on the front door. Roxy looked at her mom, seeing if she was expecting anyone.      "Not for me," Esther smirked.      Roxy headed for the door before a familiar scent filled the air around her. She opened the door, knowing exactly who was on the other side. "Brent, what brings you by?"      "May I come in?"      "Why?" Roxy could not help how hateful that came out.      "I know you are pissed at me, but please allow me to explain."      Roxy looked around, trying her best not to look into his eyes. She found herself doing that a lot lately, ever since her encounter with Blake.      "Mom, we will be up in my room if you need me."      "Door open young lady."      Roxy rolled her eyes. She was appalled her mom would even think something like that. They walked in uncomfortable silence until they walked through her door. She closed the door until there was a small c***k, just enough to peek inside.      Brent turned around to admire the simplicity of her room. "This is not quite what I imagined when I thought of your room."      "What do you want to talk to me about?"      Brent turned to stare at Roxy, noticing that she was purposely avoiding eye contact. "Do not worry Roxy. You only mate once. What you went through that night will not happen again if you look at me."      Roxy looked up into his grey-colored gleaming eyes that she had grown to enjoy.      "I am sure you are pissed at me, and you have every right to be. I should have come after you, but there is something else you should know before you decide that you hate me."      "I do not hate you, Brent. I hate myself. I should have never gone to that party."      "I tried to come after you, you know. When you are a part of a pack, your alpha can tell you what to do or what not to do, and we have to obey even if we do not want to. Maybe one day, if you become a part of a pack, then you will understand better. Blake stopped me from coming after you. He told me that I could not see you anymore."      "Then why are you here now after two long weeks?"      "Because I could not say away from you. I could not stop thinking about you. I was in shock when Blake claimed you as his mate. You have to understand that was the last thing I had expected to happen."      "And you think I had walked into that party ready to be mated? Not even close, Brent."      Brent edged closer toward Roxy, closing the distance between them. "I should have done this a long time ago." He cuffed the side of her face. Their lips were now only inches apart, but this time he did not stop. Brent's lips brushed across Roxy's softly, teasing her. She pulled his head into hers as their lips locked on to one another. Their tongues began to move in sequence. Roxy pushed her body against his built chest, creating an intensified heat between them. She then pulled her shirt off over her head to reveal her perfectly round b-sized breast. Roxy looked into his eyes with desire. He felt it too. Just because they did not share a mating bond did not mean they had not shared a bond of their own.      Brent pulled his shirt over his own head. Then pressed his firm chest against hers. His lips pressed against her neck as he sucked down toward the front of her breast. She moaned in pleasure. Roxy reached down to the front of his pants to feel his stiff erection. Her hands groped him as best as she could through his tight jeans.      Suddenly, Brent pushed her away. "Stop, we cannot do this."      Roxy blocked her body with her hands, now wholly embarrassed. "I... am....confused. You seemed like you were enjoying yourself."      "Roxy, I was but..." Brent's eyes widened at the sight of his alpha walking through Roxy's door.      Blake looked at Brent with rage hidden behind his beautiful golden eyes. "Get the f**k out of here now!"      Brent pulled his shirt back over his head. He turned to Roxy and mouthed 'I am sorry' then started to walk past Blake.      Blake never took his eyes off Roxy. "Get back to the packhouse. I will deal with you later."      Brent nodded as he walked past Blake and disappeared out the door.      Roxy was in a state of shock. She could not understand how he knew Brent was here. "Get out of my room Blake!"      But he did not listen. He stomped loudly over to her half-naked body. He wanted to speak, but he just could not. His eyes glanced at her with not only anger and frustration but with hunger as well.      "Back up, Blake," Roxy said to him as she placed her hand on his chest to avoid him coming any closer. All this did was send a spark of electricity all throughout his body with just one touch.      "I thought I told you never to see him again. Did I not make myself clear enough for you to understand?"      "Did I not make myself clear enough for you to understand that you are not my alpha, and I will do what I want!? How did you even sneak past my mom anyway?"      "None of your concern. This is your last warning. You stay the hell away from Brent, or I will kill him without even blinking. You belong to..." But he stopped himself. "You have a lot to learn, little wolf. One thing you do not want to do is to get on my bad side."      "I am not scared of you, asshole!"      Rain could hold back no longer. "Roxy, listen to him. You are putting yourself in unnecessary danger."      "You do not get to speak to me. Rain, you have ignored me for two weeks now, and now your job is about protecting me?"      Blake began to chuckle.      "What is so funny?"      "You talk to your wolf out loud like that? People are going to think you are crazy."      "What is your game, Blake? You do not want me to be with Brent, but you do not want me either. If you are so disgusted by me, then why does it matter who I am with?"      "Because it just does." His anger began to resurface as his eyes began to turn black. All he wanted to do was bend her over the bed and show her that she was his. "My pack and I are leaving at first light. We will not be back. So, this little thing that you think you have with Brent ends tonight."      "I care for Brent, and you are not going to just move away to keep me from seeing him. I will find a way. Just watch and see."      No one had ever talked to him like this before. He could not help but hold a little respect for the way she held her ground. At the same time, he wanted to pounce on her just to show her who she was messing with. This girl was relentless. "Leaving is the only way I can assure you two stay separated. I assure you that I am not a kind person. Brent will pay for what he has done tonight, and it will be up to you what that punishment will be."      Roxy said the only thing she could to protect Brent. "Leaving will not be necessary. I will have no further contact with him. You have my word. Do me a favor as well, make sure I never see your face again. Because I can assure you that the next time you come around me, I will not hesitate to give you the ass whooping you deserve." Roxy walked right past him, slamming her door in the process. She walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her as she sunk down to the floor, weeping with her head between her legs.
