It had been three days of utter frustration. Claudia was ready to give up. She still had no leads of any kind. She doubted she was going to turn any up in the few days remaining on her contract with Simonds Assurance. She could probably coast her way to the end of it. Certainly no one from Simonds was pressuring her to solve the case. In fact, she had the distinct impression that theyd be happy if she wound up the case unable to prove anything one way or the other. On the other hand, Simonds might be applying some pressure from an unexpected direction.
