CHAPTER 1: AFTERMATH

Andrew’s POV

“Dude, why are you not nervous ?”, my best friend & Vice President, Bryant asked.

“Why should I be scared for what the daughter of Torio Inc’s Chairman did to my sweet little kitten ?”, I replied irately.

“Coz Rovio’s CEO, Dane looked really pissed off when your ex, Ellene declared that you were going to be engaged to her with the blessings of your families and mercilessly abused your date in front of everyone !”, he answered with a frown on his face.

“What are you trying to say, speak clearly ?”, I asked even more irritated than before.  

“Rovio doesn’t do business only with us, Andrew. Rovio is neck deep into Torio’s project. Your so called kitten can be the death of us ! You shouldn’t have protected that unknown, poor class girl.”, Bryant said nonchalantly.

“Watch your words, Bryant !”, I gritted through my teeth.

“You do realize that the only company more powerful than us globally is Rovio, right ? It can stomp on us to nothing, you know that, huh ?”, he asked.

He was right.

Although the company I built from scratch was the most powerful internationally yet Rovio was ultra powerful, and if I may say, with a very mysterious Chairman.

Although Dane handled everything but I could tell that there was a more powerful mind behind that conglomerate which had been built from nothing too.

No one knew about the actual leader and Dane had been the face of everything for a long time but that was not the concern right now !

My kitten, company and values that I stood for were in deep threat due to Ellene’s stupidity.

Heck she was the one who cheated and broke up with me.

I had thought that she was the right one for me but after I caught her cheating on me red handed and begged her on several occasions to come back, only to be refuted and abused every time, I had sunk into a dark gloom for 10 years from which there was no returning back except when my kitten entered into my life last month and made me believe in love and myself again.

I was shaken from my thoughts when I suddenly saw the conference room door open and Rovio’s top officials take their seats.

Seems like we were going to go through hell.

“Hello Dane ! Pleasure to meet you”, Bryant greeted cheerfully but nervously.

“Likewise”, he replied coldly.

“Let’s start the meeting”, I said curtly as I finished texting an ‘I Love You’ message to my kitten.

“We are waiting for our Head. The Chairman has personally come to discuss our partnership. Just replying to an important message outside”, Dane smirked.

The doors of the conference hall opened simultaneously as I looked down at my vibrating phone to see my kitten’s instant reply.

Everyone stood up and even without looking up, I could tell that the person who had come in was exuding a powerful aura.

Who is it that dares to own the business world ? I smirked as I put away my phone.

I finally looked up and at the far end of the table was the person I was least expecting to be !
