EPISODE 9

"Grandpa will understand, I'll talk to him." Sabina firmly decided.

She pulled out her phone and went to the kitchen, she decided to keep her conversation with her Grandpa private. Cate and Dante silently tiptoed until they reached the doorway of the kitchen and from there they listened to Sabina's phone call.

"Oh, hey! My sweet Sabby! How are you doing in your new house?" The old man happily chatted.

"Hey, Grandpa! I'm so happy to see you again. One day here, felt so long here already, I'm starting to miss you now." Sabina smiled, she did miss him.

"How was your day, Sabby?" The old man asked. He always looked forward to hearing how her day went.

Sabina sighed with contentment but her smile faded when she thought about telling him about her decision, she didn't want to make him worry but she also didn't want Kale to invade her privacy just like he does all the time!

"Grandpa.." she massaged her aching head and pouted her lips, feeling a bit unhappy to give him a reason to worry about her. "It's about the house..and about Kale." She began.

Señior Antonio slowly turned serious and that was enough for Sabina to continue, "The house was great, Grandpa. Although I think it was really big, I only asked for a small one and I guess this is Kale's definition of small." She started a small joke about the house and the man laughed.

"He just wanted to give you the best, Sabby. It's a waste of money to buy something expensive but not the best." Señior Antonio chuckled.

Sabina shyly smiled and added, "Does he really have to stay with me, Grandpa?"

"Do you want to be alone? I think it's dangerous for you to be alone in a big house, Sabby." Señior Antonio found it reasonable to let Kale stay with her, the thought of Sabina getting assaulted by burglars or thieves made him worried, yet he is happy that his grandson Kale thought ahead for Sabina's safety.

"I know, Grandpa." Sabina nodded but she was determined to change his mind. "But I wanted to teach myself to be responsible and independent, also you don't have to worry about me, Papi. I was thinking that Cate could stay here with me and Mr. Dante could continue to drive me to school until I learned how to drive. I was hoping we could just let Mr. Dante and his daughter stay with me instead of Kale, Papi. Please reconsider this? Please,Papi?" Sabina begged him. She sounded like a child but she didn't care.

Señior Antonio found her solution okay but it was her childish behavior that made him laugh. "Okay, sweetheart. As you wish."

Sabina couldn't contain her happiness and screeched until her voice almost shattered a glass. Señior Antonio felt happy to see her so delighted, he thought it was great to hear her think about her future and start practicing her independence. He was proud of her for teaching herself to be responsible.

"Thank you so much, Papi!" Sabina happily hugged and kissed her phone. Mr. Dante and Cate who were listening silently celebrated that Sabina managed to convince the Señior's mind.

"Also you should know that I was going to teach myself some new recipes, Grandpa.

I'll be coming home every weekend to cook for you, how is that?" Sabina started chatting while she opened her fridge to show her Grandpa around her house. She brought her phone to the living room and introduced Cate and Mr. Dante, they've never met him personally but the old man was happy that his employees liked and always cared for Sabina.

"Papi? How about you? How was your day?" Sabina asked after she was done with the tour.

"My day is fine, same boring stuff." Antonio waved his hand to disregard the topic about him. All he wanted to hear was about her day.

"Did you drink your meds on time, Papi?" Sabina didn't dismiss the topic and asked for Nurse Beth. She told him what the old man likes and how he likes his bed done. Then Sabina reminded the old man to keep eating his healthy diet, she knew Señior Antonio likes to cheat on his meals.

"I didn't cheat, Sabby." Señior Antonio chuckled and wiped the tears of joy in his eyes.

"Nurse Beth, is that true?" Sabby checked out and when Beth didn't answer yes and laughed, Sabina pouted her lips like a child complaining again. Señior Antonio laughed at this face of her and he almost lost his breath. Sabina's face always made him smile, he couldn't let the day end without seeing her. It was like she was part of his daily medicine.

"Okay, Papi. You already got your dose of happy pill. You must rest now, it's two minutes past your bedtime." Sabina always makes sure he gets plenty of rest. With his old age, she knew that he only sleeps until four in the morning and he must not lose that precious time. Sleep is very important to maintain his good health.

"Okay, you too sweetheart. Goodnight." Señior Antonio happily closed his eyes after spending twenty minutes of good talk with Sabina. This was the time of night that he always looked forward to. To hear and see her smile.

Sabina happily hugged Cate, she gave her the room next to her and Mr. Dante took the servants quarter as his own room.

"I'll tell Kale he's not moving in." She immediately left and let Cate have some time to fix her room. They didn't have any clothes with them so Mr. Dante decided to drive back to their own home and pack some.

"Hello." She heard Kale say, she could also hear a woman's voice in the background. It seems like someone was happily chatting with Kale.

She felt her heart race when she finally recognized the familiar voice...

"Are you with someone?" She asked, the woman's voice was so loud that she couldn't hear him.

"Althea." Kale answered.
