A loud ding excitedly brought to Jose Luis"s attention that he had finally received a long-awaited text message from his youngest sister, Sylvia: “This is it”. That morning found him anxious, but eager. He grabbed his government-provided Samsung phone and downloaded the video attached to the message. Unfortunately, it downloaded at a snail"s pace because his mother"s apartment had no Wi-Fi. Jose Luis was surreptitiously using the neighbor"s Wi-Fi, which was not password-protected and which was six apartments away. The grueling hour wait was too much. He tried to wait patiently, but by the fifteen-minute mark, he could no longer contain himself. “Dammit, I wish I had a regular phone. This government phone sucks.” He slammed the phone down hoping somehow this would make the download faster
