Chapter 2Frank sighed heavily and tried to make himself a little more comfortable on the thin mattress. Even Vixen’s advanced design couldn’t work miracles on mundane things like skinny mattresses. Despite having Doc’s company, Frank hated being in sick bay and, worse yet, Armand had been correct about Nathan’s injury. Nathan had been released quickly and so Frank had been denied his friend’s company. While Frank was pleased beyond measure that Nathan visited every day, he was concerned about the dark smudges growing beneath the man’s eyes. Despite being pronounced fit for discharge from sick bay, Nathan didn’t look well. With a heavy sigh, Frank wriggled down the bed, careful to avoid banging his toes on the rail at the end, and closed his eyes.
