Kael’s POV:
I watched from the windows of my room as I saw Kaida making her way to the castle, I smiled inwardly, I had been expecting her. The look on her face made me wonder what had happened to her, she looked angry and frustrated.
I stepped out of the room, standing at the door expecting her arrival. She moved through the dimly lit corridors of the hall, her footsteps echoing off the stone walls. The look on her face intensifying with every step she takes, as she saw me standing at the door she gave me a fake smile to cover up her turmoil.
As she reached the heavy oak doors of my chambers, she flung her arms over me. I hugged her back, caressing her hair with my fingers. Kaida paid no mind that we might be seen, she was the fearless type.
