Chapter 23 - The Annual Party 4

Ares immediately went towards Cytherea's side and took her hand so that he could lead her in climbing up the stairs. The crowd went crazy again as they cheered for Cytherea. Everyone was in awe to see how head-turner she is. Some of them were able to recognize her as the famous vlogger.

"Aww, that's so sweet. Thank you for that, Mr. Pendleton. Wow, it seemed like we have a crowd favorite,” the emcee stated when the cheers didn’t stop. “Let’s have a small chitchat first before we go to the mechanics,” she added while she walked towards Cytherea. She stood beside her.

All of them who were called were lined up in the middle of the stage. From left to right were Carlos, Gaus, Jessie, Lemnos, Ares, Cytherea, and the emcee. 

“You two looked like a couple,” the emcee said. She was looking at Ares and Cytherea’s hands that were clasped.

Cytherea smiled and showed her left hand with the engagement ring.

“Oh, no! Sorry, guys, our lucky girl is already taken.” 

Cytherea smiled a little when she heard the crowd went aww. Ares was feeling super proud that a lot of men envied him for having Cytherea as his fiancée. He let go of Cytherea's hand and held her waist instead.

The emcee saw what Ares did and she couldn’t help but comment. “Hmm, we have a possessive guy right here,” she giggled, and the crowd laughed. She cleared her throat and looked at her cue card. “So, we need to change our mechanics. It’s a good thing that I haven’t revealed how this game would work. So, this game is called find your lover. Since our lucky girl is already engaged to someone, it will now be a test for her to find which one is her fiancé. If she fails to find her lover and ends up choosing a different guy, then she will have to spend time with the winner throughout the party, plus a cash prize. But if she was successful, then a cash prize will also be given plus a romantic dinner for these lovely couples.” She looked at Ares and smiled.  “I hope you’re a good sport, Mr. Pendleton.” 

Ares smirked. He is confident that Cytherea will be able to recognize him. “Of course, besides, I’m confident with my fiancé. I know we will both win this game.” He faced Cytherea and pulled her closer to him. He then kissed her on her temple.

The crowd cheered again when they saw Ares’ action. Everyone was ecstatic. 

“Oh my, it’s not Valentine’s yet, but I can feel that love is in the air!” the emcee commented. 

A uniformed staff went to the stage with a chair in his hand. He put it in the middle of the stage. There were also two other uniformed staff that brought a backdrop stand. There were five holes in it. All of them went to the side while the staff was setting up the stage. It only took a few minutes, and the staff went down from the stage right after.  The emcee went to the middle of the stage together with the contestants.

“Ok, everything has been set up. So, Miss Swan, please sit down in this chair.” Cytherea did what the emcee told her to do. She was also given a microphone in which she accepted. “We have ten questions here. I am going to ask these questions to these five lucky men, and you will find your lover based on their answers. Those who don't have the same answer as you will be eliminated. To make this game challenging, they will type their answers on the tablet. That way, you will not be able to recognize the handwriting.”

Another staff went to the stage and handed the tablets to the five men.

“Wow, that’s really challenging. But I know we will win this game,” Cytherea commented, laughing. She’s confident that she knows Ares so well.

“Ohh, confident. I like that. Okay, we are going to start now. Our guys will be going at the back of the backdrop. You can choose which spot you want, guys, and when it’s time to reveal your answer, just show the tablet using the holes in front of you. So, is everyone ready?”

The crowd cheered once again.

“Are you ready, Miss Swan?” the emcee asked.

“I’m getting nervous to tell you honestly, but yes, I am ready. You can also just call me Cytherea,” Cytherea answered. She smiled at the emcee and bit her lips.

“Aw, you’re so sweet, Cytherea. Okay, first question! What is your lover’s favorite color?” After a few minutes, the guys revealed their answers.

First guy: Blue

Second guy: Blue

Third guy: Blue

Fourth guy: Blue

Fifth guy: Blue

“All of them have the same answer. So, Cytherea, what do you think is Mr. Pendleton’s fave color?”

“It’s an easy one.” Cytherea smiled. “It’s blue.”

“Wow! Our five guys have the same answer as Cytherea’s. And now, girls, you know that our CEO likes blue too.” 

The crowd laughed.

“Second question! What is your lover’s favorite scent? Please reveal your answers in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!”

First guy: Chanel Bleu

Second guy: Chanel Bleu

Third guy: Chanel Bleu

Fourth guy: Versace Eros

Fifth guy: Chanel Bleu

“Oh, wow.! All of them except one have the same answer. Is this the end of the game? We will see. So, Cytherea, what is your lover’s fave scent?”

“It will be Chanel Bleu.”

“I didn’t know that these men carried the same scent. Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to someone who answered Versace Eros.”

Carlos revealed himself to the crowd. He was smiling even though he lost the game. 

“I’m so sorry, Carlos, you just lost your chance with Cytherea,” the emcee jokes. “Please come join us here.”

Carlos went towards them and hugged the emcee. He also did the same to Cythera. He was scratching his head because of embarrassment. He never thought that he was able to hug Cytherea. He regretted that he lost the game because spending time with Cytherea, even for just a few hours, is already an honor.
