Chapter 6
Soon Niklaus came downstairs with Taylor (Kevin and Rebecca's daughter) his arms wrapped protectively around her.
"Zelina this is Taylor my cousin, Tay this is Zelina my wife" he introduces Taylor to his wife proudly. He was happy to have Zelina, he was happy he found her to make her his wife.
Zelina stretches out her hand to greet Taylor, but Taylor looks at Zelina’s hand in disgust, she declines Zelina’s hand and just nods in distain. It was visible to everyone present that Taylor thought Zelina was beneath her…
Niklaus frowns. He let us go of Taylor and looks at her in with an unreadable expression.
"Nick why did you bring her?" Taylor pouts leaning into Niklaus.
Niklaus side steps her and holds Zelina in his arms. Taylor may be his cousin, but Zelina was his wife, no matter what he would always take Zelina’s side. It did not matter if Zelina were wrong, he would fight anyone who tried to hurt his wife even his own blood. "She's my wife she has every right to be here" he said coldly.
Anyone with eyes could see the hostility Taylor had towards Zelina.
Niklaus and the rest of the family ignores Taylor’s existence during supper. They spoke happily about their childhood and their parents. Emma and Lana loved Zelina and they showed it, and Taylor hated it. she watched Zelina with hateful eyes.
Niklaus saw it and frowned. He did not say anything, but he was not happy with her performance tonight.
"Grandma we got to get going your grandson has a mess I need to clean up." After dinner Niklaus excused him and his wife.
Lana frowns. She only had one grandson who would seek out trouble. "What has Rav done now?" she asks
"Grandma a girl stole his seeds and put them inside her" Emma blurts out. she quickly puts her hand in front of her mouth.
Niklaus sighs, he was not going to tell his grandmother about this until he sorted out the problem.
"..." Lana’s jaw drops to the floor. Now she is heard everything.
To distract her mother Emma started talking again. "Grandmother I believe I am your best grandchild. Just look at Niki he got a wife without anyone knowing, Cate is just weird, Alexis is over the top and dramatic, Rav loves woman and will never settle down, Reign never shows up to family’s functions, look at little Miss perfect over here. she is pouting because Niki will not give her all his attention anymore. And then there's Zarah who believes she can act... I'm the only sane one in this dysfunctional family."
"Oh honey. You all are the reason for my grey hair... Baby girl, you just as bad as the rest of them. You all give me stress. I should just marry you all off to the highest bidder. It would save me some grey hair." Lana jokes
"Grandma!! It is not funny!" Emma exclaimed. Niklaus snickers.
Lana looks around the table at her grandchildren. It has been a while since she is seen Niklaus so carefree. She just wanted her grandchildren to be happy. She looked at Niklaus proud of the man he has become, he was her first grandson, he has the responsibility of the entire family company on his shoulders. She was happy he found someone to spend his life with. He is just like his father. She was happy he would not be alone.
After saying their goodbyes Zelina and Niklaus drives together in a car. While Emma has a driver drive her back to the restaurant. The couple head to the Grand Villa.
When the walk in the door there is already arguing. Niklaus sighs. He forgot his sisters and cousin was here. He would have stayed by his grandmother’s house if he had remembered.
"Lex stop saying that!" Zarah shouts.
"You have no acting skills Zarah get a damn job I'm tired of paying for your extravagant lifestyle. We may have money, but it does not mean you can waste it on s**t like that" Alexis scolds her.
Niklaus and Zelina was the drama unfold. Niklaus had no intention of interfering. "We have enough money to live lavishly" Zarah pouts. If her father were still in charge of the company, he would let her do as she pleased. She would get an acting part, then they will be sorry they insulted her. she needed to look the part. She could not be seen in the same outfit twice; it was social suicide. Her sister just did not get her.
"Yes, we do, but what about the future? What if Niklaus and I make a wrong investment and the companies goes bankrupt how will you support yourself? Just because we live comfortably now does not mean you can waste a million dollars on a damn shoe, you will only wear once Zarah, that is being wasteful!" Alexis knew no matter what she said her younger sister would not listen to her. She would do as she pleased.
"That's enough! Can the two of you just give me a second to breathe. I come home from work, and I have to deal with this crap!" Niklaus shouts
"You!" He points at Zarah " I'm cutting you off." he shouts. He had a damn headache.
"Big brother no I need the money" Zarah pouts. Tears in her eyes.
"Get a job Zar!" he looks at her coldly
"Big brother please" Zarah realizing her tears were not going to save her.
"That's final! Go to your room now and reflect on yourself!" Niklaus shouts coldly
Zarah mutters something under her breath but she obediently walks up the stairs and to her room...
Niklaus was frustrated because their father had always treated Zarah like a princess and spoiled her more than he did him and Alexis they did not have choices on what they wanted to study they were told from the age of five they would be successors of the family businesses. Which and always put a lot on Him and Alexis's shoulders. But with Zarah she would always get what she wanted. She did not bare the same responsibilies they did
Zelina walks up to Niklaus she places her hand his arm and asks him "Are you okay?"
He looks at Zelina and his face softens, and he smiles and nods.
"Come on where’s Raven and Megan?" Niklaus asks looking around the living room and not seeing his cousin and his former assistant.
"Megan is in the basement and Raven is upstairs talking to he's dad on the phone." Alexis says
Niklaus sighs "How much did she spend this week?"
"Who? Zarah? Oh, only a billion…" Alexis says sarcastically
"Out of the family account?" he asks. Zarah had a habit out of stealing money out of the family trust.
"Yeah..." Alexis nods.
"I'll return it..." Niklaus had no choice, if his grandfather found that money missing and seeing it being spent on clothes Zarah might never even wear again, he would flip.
Before Niklaus could finish Raven ran down the stairs punched Niklaus straight in the face
"Thanks to you my dad has cut me off and forced me to join the Navy" he hisses
"s**t Raven, you scared the hell out of me." Alexis shouts in shock
Niklaus just looks at Raven but does not hit back
"Let’s sort out Megan then you can hit me some more" Niklaus says calmly
"Fine" Raven knew this was more important than his anger. He could not have a baby with this woman.
Zelina walks up to Klaus blocks his way. Puts her tiny fingers against his lips he feels a jolt of electricity run through his body just by her fingers touching his lip which is bleeding. Lina runs to the kitchen takes an ice pack and puts it on Klaus's face...
"I'm fine go upstairs and change I'll be up in a minute." Niklaus smiles.
Lina bits her lower lip then nods...
