Chapter Twenty-Eight

1973 Words
Casen I lifted Tana from the floor. “She’ll be fine. She just tapped into her magic and since she’s not used to it, it drained her.” Robyn explained. Her body was like ice against mine. “She’s so cold.” “Try to warm her with your body but fuel her mark to help reenergize her.” I laid her on our bed and wrapped the blanket around her. I lifted her and sat behind her with her in between my legs. Robyn reached out to touch her, but her face scrunched up. “What’s the matter?” “I’m trying to help heal her, but I can’t seem to do much. I’ll have to try again maybe after she wakes. I’m going to go make her some food. None of us have really eaten at all tonight and she’s probably going to be hungry.” I nodded. I lowered my head to lick her mark and nibble at it. I let as much of my energy flow into her mark. My dragon was feeling very cagey because of her state. I can feel him prowling around and on edge. I understand how he’s feeling, as I am feeling the same way. I was fighting Elle so hard, but I wasn’t successful. She was pushing me into the recesses of my mind. I pushed my dragon forward, but she was holding him at bay with difficulty. I only hoped he could communicate with Tana through our mind link. I let him take over my inner voice that speaks in mind link and Tana heard him. There was a knock on the door. “Come in.” Drew opened the door. Kalina was behind him. “Let me warm her. I have the warmest body heat. Let Robyn heal you.” He said. I didn’t want to leave her. “What about you, Kalina?” I asked because this was her mate and husband. “Let Drew help Tana. He helped Robyn in the other timeline.” I nodded. Drew removed his shirt and I started to have some apprehension. “It’s faster if my body heat doesn’t have to go through my shirt.” He reached for her and removed the blanket from her back. I wasn’t comfortable. “I’ll wrap her back up soon. I just want my heat to seep into her skin some.” I was reluctant to agree, but what he is saying is the truth. His body heat would warm her faster. Kalina guided me out of our room. I was brought to Okan’s office. Orien, Adrian, Michael, and Brayon were in the office talking. I took a seat and soon Robyn entered. She placed her hands on my shoulders. My body began to relax, and I wasn’t hurting as much as I had been. I watched as some of the burn marks left my skin, leaving only small thin red marks until those disappeared too. “There, you should be good now.” Robyn let go of me. “Maybe you should change,” Michael suggested. I was going to go back to our room to get some clothes when Kalina reappeared and handed me some of my black sweats and a t-shirt. I moved into the bathroom and changed. I went back into the room. My brothers stared me down. “Sit and tell us what happened.” Michael demanded of me. Mikah was coming through. I could feel it. I feel stronger the longer I am in my brother’s presence. Solay came in to give Chase to Adrian. “Robyn said he needed to be in here with you.” “Thanks,” Adrian replied as he took Chase. I proceeded to explain what had happened. I told them how my head felt like it was on fire, and I was being shoved to the back of my mind all while my dragon was fighting off the mental intrusion as best as he could because Elle couldn’t completely suppress him. I told them they would have to hear Tana’s side of the story as I couldn’t process much of what they were saying as I fought to give my dragon mental control. They seemed a little disappointed I didn’t have full answers, but we would have them as soon as Tana recovers. Michael and Adrian filled Brayon in on Valac in detail. We talked for an hour. No one came to disturb us that whole time. I had to admit I was wanting to be with Tana and check up on her, but this was a conversation we needed to have as brothers. It has been far too many millenniums that have passed since we were all last in each other’s presence. It seems as if no time has really passed though. I felt so content the longer I spent with my brothers. “Dinner.” Robyn’s voice sounded in mind link. We made our way to the dining room. I was the last to enter because I was debating about going to get Tana. She was sitting wrapped in our blanket and my heart felt light now that she was awake. I rushed to her. I picked her up and sat placing her in my lap. I wrapped my arms around my wife tightly. “I’m so sorry Baby. I tried to fight her. I couldn’t talk to you with my voice, but I let my dragon do it. She couldn’t control him.” A tear fell down her cheek. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to burn you.” Her voice was a rasping tone. “Here, let me get you some water.” I got her some water, and she drank it slowly. When she finished, I took her glass for her. She looked into my eyes. She seemed concerned. “I have something to tell you.” “What?” I felt her trembling. I rubbed her body through the blanket to warm her. “Casen, I um… Drew told me that…” She took a deep breath as I was a little nervous with what she needed to tell me. “Your dragon got my dragon pregnant tonight.” She blurted and her face turned red with a flush. I stared. The words were processing through my mind. I crashed my mouth to hers. She’s going to have my baby. It makes sense now why my dragon was cagey. He must have known what he did. He is definitely feeling elated in my mind. He is purring, prancing, and wanting to fly and blow his fire to express what he’s done to everyone. “I love you.” “I love you.” She replied. She looked out to the room. I was so excited. “I’m going to be a father,” I exclaimed. Everyone cheered and congratulated us. Tana’s stomach growled loudly though, and we all chuckled. I think we’re hungry too. “I can sit in my own chair.” Tana offered. “No, you sit with me.” I commanded her. She didn’t refute me. Robyn, along with the staff that take care of us, and the house began bringing food out. Robyn set a plate full of meat in front of Tana. I moved to pull a piece of chicken off the roasted chicken that took up most of the plate. Robyn hit my hand. “That is for her. I’ll make you a plate since you are holding her, but leave her meat alone, she needs it.” Robyn scolded me. I wanted to rebut her, but Tana’s hands had shot out of the blanket, and she dove into the chicken, tearing huge chunks off almost as if she were feral. I looked at Robyn. “Noted.” I replied. Robyn nodded and began filling a plate for me. Tana ate a lot of meat. Robyn and Solay were commenting on how much they would eat. It’s good to know we know how to handle that part of this pregnancy at least. Robyn doesn’t believe my dragon got her pregnant though. She thinks I got her pregnant and it just took hold tonight to be detected. I frankly don’t care how it happened. I am so incredibly happy. I took Tana to our room after we ate. She is still a bit drained. Robyn said she would discuss what happened with the others as she saw it all in Tana’s memories. I want to know what is happening, but I’m going to tuck Tana into bed first for her to rest. She didn’t let me tuck her in bed easily though. As I tried to finish removing her dress, she grabbed at my shirt and pulled it up. “You need to rest.” She looked at me with lust-filled eyes that had darkened her crystal green eyes. “I need you.” She whispered. That undid me. I removed my clothes fast. I removed her bra and panties. I lifted her in my arms and braced her against the wall. She wrapped her legs around me. She claimed my lips as I thrust into her body. She gasped and moaned deeply. This is heaven. She wrapped me in her arms and legs as I f*cked her deeply with long languid strokes. Her vocalizations and mine got mingled into muffled sounds as she consumed my mouth with hers. I felt her body clenching around me. I broke the kiss and moved to her neck. I didn’t hesitate and I bit her mark. She screamed out and came on me. I released her neck and before I could say anything she lowered her mouth to my mark and bit me. I came as her body was still experiencing her climax. Her body went a little limp as her head rested on my shoulder. I heard soft snores coming from her and I smiled. We probably shouldn’t have made love because she is already so exhausted, but I couldn’t have denied her if I tried. I slid out of her body, and she had small moans of protest as I did. I laid her on the bed and tucked her in. I brushed her hair off of her face and kissed her forehead before I dressed again and moved to open the door. Lyrai and Rhistal were standing guard. “She’s sleeping. I get the feeling you both may want to listen to what Robyn tells us.” “You don’t remember?” “Not really. I was fighting that dark witch and I barely registered what she was talking with Tana about.” Lyrai nodded and they followed me to the main sitting room. I guess Oisin, Okan, Alexander, and Alandar have come back finally. They looked a bit exhausted. Food was being brought in for them as we took a seat. Oisin looked at me. “You should know your father and brother have been taken into custody and put in their dungeon. Your father attacked us, and your brother joined in. The assembled royals and alphas have determined you are acting as king of Europe until Tana can meet with us and we discuss how we will proceed.” “What?” I was stunned. “I don’t know how to rule a kingdom.” I let my inner thought fall from my lips. “We’ll help you.” Alexander replied. I nodded as I looked at everyone’s faces and they were all nodding their heads in agreement. Robyn stood. “While we will help Casen in this transition, I have more pressing matters to explain to all of you. First being Tana is not the only phoenix dragon in existence currently.” All our eyes were glued to Robyn as she began telling us what she saw in Tana’s memory.
