Jay had turned out to be a great patient, and once her boyfriend showed up, things seemed to calm down with the bikers in the waiting room. Once they knew she was alive and would recover, they all seemed to leave slowly. There was, however, always a group of them there making sure no one got by security. They were all good-looking, and one of them stood out from the others. And he filled my dreams at night with his muscular body, light blue eyes, short blonde hair, tanned skin that was covered in tattoos, and looked the part of the bad boy. But I had seen him in with Jay and seen how sweet he was with her and the woman that said she was Brandon's mom. He treated both women like queens, and never once did I see him act any different. And I drooled over him. Maybe it had just been too long since I had been out. But between seeing him most days checking in with my patient and then dreaming of all the dirty things I would love to do to him and him to do to me. I knew I needed to get out more. But being the only female doctor in the hospital meant I not only had to do my shifts in the emergency room but had to also fit in checking in on Jay every day she was there, all while making sure my son was taken care of. I didn't mind taking care of her, but by the time I felt she was well enough to go home, I was exhausted and ready for a day off.
It was midday, and I had just finished the paperwork to let Jay go home. I was on my way up to see her before she left. As I stepped onto the elevator, a couple of the biker guys jumped on with me before the door closed. The one standing closest just had to be him. I did my best not to ogle him as the elevator took us up to the right floor. The guys didn't seem to notice me, though, as they joked about something one of them did. To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to what they were saying. I was too busy checking out the cutie standing close to me. When the doors opened, they all let me out, first making a path. As I stepped out, I said a small thanks as I walked over to the nurse’s station to get Jay's chart. They all filed past me, going into her room, and I couldn't help glancing up to watch him go. "Doc, you got a bit of drool there." I jumped slightly as one of the nurses leaned on the counter next to me, "although I can't say that I blame you. Mmmm, they do look dangerously delicious." We laughed together as I shook my head. I seemed to get along with the nurses on this floor better faster than those in the emergency room. I even made friends with a few of them, including Sierra here. She was a great nurse. Very knowledgeable and confident in what she does. She was in her mid-thirties, married her high school sweetheart, and had been a nurse now for ten years. She had four kids, one of which was the same age as Alex. We had even gotten the boys together, and I was happy Alex had a new friend. The two had hit it off well. I sighed as the biker guys disappeared into the room, "I need to get out more, I swear." She laughed at me, "Want me to hook you up?" I shook my head, "no thanks, I can get my own dates, thank you very much." She laughed harder, "if you say so." She started to push off the counter and head back down the hall but stopped suddenly. "I have an even better idea." I glanced up at her and grew slightly worried by the huge grin on her face. "We should have a girl’s night." I started to shake my head no. "Oh, come on, Alex will be with his dad this weekend, right?” I nodded, “until Sunday afternoon.” A huge smile covered her face, “And you are off this Friday. What better time to go out and have a few drinks. Come on. We can have a girl’s night out and have some fun.” She gave me her best puppy dog eyes, and I couldn't help it. Sighing, I gave in. She was right. I could use a girls night out. "Fine, but the first round is on you." Clapping her hands, she squealed as she rushed down the hall to one of the other nurses. I shook my head and went back to the chart. It would be so nice to get out and have fun. I finished getting everything together before going in and letting them know Jay would get to go home today. As I finished up, the guys all walked back out of the room, talking in hushed voices as Brandon walked them back out to the elevators.
