Mia's eyes were full of curiosity as she stared at the high gate in front of her. It was a plane painted gray and black. Nothing can be seen from outside, it seems that the home is deliberately hidden by the high fence and gate.
Maybe the house inside is too big. She spoke to herself.
She slowly took a deep breath before trying to reach for the doorbell. But it was too high and she is not tall because her height is only 4'11.
"Why is the doorbell here so high!" She whined in dismay.
"Oh, Miss. Having a hard time?”
"Good shameless wasp!" she blurted out when she suddenly felt a breath close to her ear. She automatically turned her gaze to the daring man.
The man immediately raised both hands as a sign of surrender and smiled at her.
"What are you doing? Wait, who are you?" she asked casually as she cooled herself down. She really doesn't want to be surprised like that, she feels she'll be out of breath every time that happens.
"I was just passing by when I saw you having a hard time with that bell," he said while pointing to the doorbell.
“Ah, yes. Because it's kinda high."
The man stared at the said bell.
"Hmm, I think it's meant to be raised so that children can't play with it. Anyway, do you need my help?”
She bit her lip a lot. She was ashamed of her behavior a while ago. She shouldn't have shouted at him.
"Is it okay with you?"
The man's smile widened and without thinking twice he rang the doorbell several times.
She was about to say thank you but suddenly the man spoke.
"You're welcome miss-?"
She stared for a moment and thought. Is it right to say her name to the man she just met? But he helped her. In the end, she chose to introduce herself.
"M-mia, I'm Mia." she replied.
"Mia, wow! Cute name, that suits you well. I'm Arthur by the way,” he said and extended his hand in front of her.
When she was about to accept Arthur's hand, the gate suddenly opened. She immediately turned to the one who opened it, when she looked back at Arthur again, he was just smiling at her.
"I'll go ahead, Mia. See you around.”
She only answered the man with a nod while smiling, she followed him with a look as he walked away.
“Are you Miss Mia?” An old woman asked her as she looked back at the gate. She smiled and nodded again.
"Yes, ma'am," she confidently answered.
"Allright, come on in," the old woman loosened the gate slightly that she's the only one who could fit in. She obeyed and entered immediately.
A palace-like house with a green exterior greeted her. It was really big and she could say that the architect was obviously good because of its modern design. She could not walk immediately because of the amazement. However, she felt that something was missing. There are no plants around the house, even the fountain in the middle pathway has no water. All in all, the aura of the beautiful house is sad. She can feel the negative energy coming from there. She only brought back to reality when she heard her old companion take a deep sigh.
“Mia, Liam is waiting inside. He doesn't want to wait for a long time, we might both scolded if we don't hurry," the old woman whispered softly to her.
Because of what she heard, Mia was a bit nervous. She realized that it's really difficult to get along with her future boss.
"I'm sorry, let's go." she tried to smile in front of the old woman to cover up her nervousness. She's confident she has a lot of patience, she has grown to be calm in any situation so somehow, she is satisfied that she will last in this job.
"What takes you so long, Thelma? as far as I remember, even though I can't walk, there is less than 3 minutes walk between our gate and the house." Liam's deep and baritone voice soared as soon as they entered the door of the house.
She looked up at the second floor where it was. He looked like a handsome king sitting on his throne while looking down at them, the only difference was that he was sitting on a wheelchair and not a palace chair.
"Ah-" the old woman started to explain but she quickly grabbed her arm and tapped it.
"Uhm, I'm sorry, Sir Liam. It's my fault, it takes us so long because I was talking to someone-"
"Are you the one I'm talking to, Miss Salazar?" He interrupted her explanation.
She clamped her mouth shut and bowed before shaking his head. "No."
"Then, you supposedly closed your mouth!" he shouted.
She was startled because she didn't expect him to scream. She even felt Thelma gently tap her hand that she was holding.
"I will talk to him. Just stay here and wait.” she said in a sincere tone.
"No. Let her come up here, Thelma. I will wait for her in my room.” Liam groaned before pushing the wheelchair away from the railing of the second floor.
"There you go, hurry up and don't get nervous, okay?"
She nodded and followed immediately. She suddenly felt embarrassed because she felt sorry for her slowness, she is prioritizing her curiosity about that house.
When they went up to the second floor, they walked all the way to the end before stopping at a door there.
"Here we are. Just apologized to Liam. He always says hurtful words but I hope you don't get emotional, okay?"
She nodded and smiled knowingly. "Thank you, Thelma. Don't worry, I'll take care of him."
"Alright, go in."
She wet her lips and filled her chest with air before going inside. She immediately focused her attention on Liam, he's standing in front of her with his back, he seems to be watching the large TV in front of him.
"Come closer." he ordered coldly when he felt her presence.
She silently walked and moved to his side.
"Do you see that?" he asked again, referring to the cctv monitor that was on the TV.
“Yes,”
"Next time, you don't have to push that doorbell because I'll know if you're in front of my house. You don't need to ask anyone for help, are we clear?" He said without even looking at her.
“Yes.”
To her surprise, he suddenly faced her. She stood up straight. She began to feel nervous and didn't know how to act when Liam gazed at her from head to toe.
"Are you sure you can last?" he asked after. His tone was a bit husky and the color of his eyes seemed to be darker.
Her both eyebrows mount at the same time, she gaped.
"Huh?" She didn't know what Liam really meant.
But Liam just sighed and took off his clothes without saying a word.
"I want to take a shower, bathe me," he ordered her without emotion..
