Joe's POV:
Mike didn't show again at the cabin so I was relieved, he probably got the message that I wanted nothing to do with him, which was great, I had thought that he was going to dig his heals in and come over again, but luckily he didn’t. My mind drifted to Kai. It was strange Kai had become everything to me in such short a time, he meant more to me than Mike ever did, it was like our souls were connected. I still sometimes had doubts, how could anyone like him ever love me, but then he looked at me and all those doubts disappeared.
I watched as Kai walked over to me, he looked a little concerned, and I immediately felt worried.
“Joe, I don’t think you are going to like this, but we have to go back to our pack, sooner than we thought.”
