DYLAN'S POV
After the nurses wash Cailean, they transfer her to her room, and she immediately falls asleep once we are left alone in the room.
I grab a chair from the small dining table and rest at Cai's bedside.
She looks pretty exhausted; who wouldn't be? She gave birth to two lovely pups. I haven't seen my daughter yet, though, but I'm one hundred percent positive that she's beautiful.
I rest my head beside my beloved mate to relax a bit while waiting for them to bring in our little Alphas.
It's funny that I feel exhausted too. Whenever Cai was pushing, deep inside me, I was pushing too, thinking that it would help Cai deliver our little bundles of joy.
As I witness Cai's struggle during the delivery, I can say that giving birth is the toughest job given to women. Men should treasure their partners. We should be praising them for how strong they are, mainly in a time like this. They should be well taken care of; love them with all our heart and soul.
I put my hand on top of my wife's hand that is roosting on her side, and as I close my eyes, I hear the door creak open.
I sit straight and look in the direction of the door; it's granny and Alexander, both grinning widely as they quietly approach me.
"How's my granddaughter doing?" Granny asks in a whisper.
"She's exhausted from all the pushing other than that; she is doing great." We talk in a low voice, avoiding not disturbing Cai, but then I hear her moan.
"Hello, sweetheart!" Granny cheerfully greets Cai.
I move aside to give granny and Cai space and stride beside Alexander.
"You have adorable pups," Alexander whispered.
"You've seen them both already?"
"Yes. I was in the nursery while Margarette was casting a spell on your daughter, then they brought in your son." He explains.
I couldn't help but let out a sigh after I heard the word spell. "Right. My family is full of mysteries, and it saddens me that we couldn't just live a happy everyday life just like the other werewolves. Without spell, without a threat from the dark witch."
"Dylan, the moon goddess, choose your family because she knows that you can handle it. It makes sense now why Cailean ends up in the care of witches. I don't believe in coincidence, son. I believe in fate, and you have an interesting one." I like Alexander's positiveness in viewing things, and he really made a valid point. I should be thankful for the destiny the moon goddess has given me.
"You are right, and I should accept my fate with open arms." I smile.
"That's the spirit. And remember, we are here to support you and Cai no matter what happens," Alexander muttered sincerely.
We are fortunate to have such a great support system like Alexander since Dmitri and Adela are not around to stand to be a parent to me.
I focus my attention on my mate, and all of a sudden, the corners of her mouth curl upwards into a wide grin while staring straight at the door; then, I hear the most beautiful sound I've ever heard, the heartbeats of my pups!
My body spins like a top as I turn around to see my babies, and my heart beats fast from excitement when the nurse hands me my son snuggled in a blue swaddling blanket.
I immediately walk beside Cai to show her our son, who looks so much like me. He got the color of my hair, dark ash blonde, and he has my nose and lips too. I wonder if he has the color of my eyes.
The other nurse passes our daughter to Cai, bundled up in a pink swaddling blanket.
Cai and I tear up as we lay our eyes on our daughter for the first time.
It's a mini Cailean. She's a brunette like her mom.
"So, what are the names of the babies? Have you come up with something already?" Granny inquired. Her voice sounds extremely happy.
"Yes. We'll call our son Bayron and our daughter Amelia." Cai proudly tells them.
"Great names!" Alexander exclaimed.
Cai brings Amelia closer to me, and I move Bayron closer to her so we could both look at them.
"Bayron looks so much like you, Dy." Cai giggles.
I stare at Amelia, sure she has her mom's hair color, but other than that, I don't see any other physical traits she got from Cai. Not even from me.
"Amelia has your hair." I smile at Cai.
Cai's happy features suddenly become disappointed. "How come our son looks almost like you, and our daughter just got my hair?" I could sense the dismay in her tone as she spoke every word. Then, granny comes closer to Cai and places a kiss on her forehead. She fixes her gaze on Amelia and smiles. "Don't be sad, sweetheart. Let me tell you to whom Amelia got her features."
Our eyes darted toward granny, curious to know who that person she's talking about.
Granny did not take her eyes off of Amelia. "She looks so much like your father, Cailean. She looks like Nolan," she says.
Now it makes sense why we can't figure out who she looks like. Cai never saw the face of her biological parents. None of us except Granny, Olivia, my parents, and then Dmitri and Adela.
"She looks like my father," Cai utters softly and leaves a tender kiss on Amelia's forehead. Her face brightens up again, and she starts to giggle as she plays with Amelia's nose.
I look at granny. "Granny, is everything going to be ok? I mean, the powers of the twins, are they safe now?"
Granny flashes a huge grin. "There's nothing to worry about. I have it taken care of. Cordelia will never find out about the twins. I put a potent spell on Amelia and Bayron to suppress their powers."
Granny goes to my side and extends her arms. "May I?" I carefully put Bayron in her arms.
"Remember the riddle from the book about the two crescent moons entwined?" Granny continues.
"I still remember, yes," I reply.
"The same goes to Bayron and Amelia. As soon as their hands are entwined, the power of the crescent moons will be unleashed. That's why I told Will to immediately get the first baby out of the room to avoid that from happening and so that I could cast the spell too." Granny explains, and I'm grateful for her. What would I do without her? Who would do all of these if she's not here with us?
"Thank you so much, granny! You are the best!" I beamed, then I got startled when Bayron's loud cry shaken the whole room, and not for long, Amelia followed.
"What's happening to them?! Is it their powers?! Are they hurt?" My heart pounds in my chest from fear because they are crying really loud, especially Bayron.
While I'm on the verge of alarm, Alexander and granny laughs. Even Cai.
"What's so funny about it? My pups are crying!" My voice raises out of annoyance.
"Because you are overreacting, my love. They are probably just hungry," Cai states.
A sigh of relief escapes me after I understand Cai's statement. Why do I always have to think of the worst?
Alexander clears his throat. "I better get going." He announces, and I walk him to the door and close the door behind him.
I return to my family; Cai begins to breastfeed our pups.
A smile scatters across my face as I watch my family, as I watch my wife nurture our greatest possession.
I will do everything to protect my family, even if I have to let granny cast a thousand spells on them, so be it.

3 YEARS LATER, AFTER BAYRON & AMELIA WERE BORN...
We are expecting special guests today. Cai and I invited George and his sons for a garden breakfast since we missed his dinner invitation three years ago because of unexpected circumstances. Then a tragic thing happens. George's second chance mate died after giving birth to their second son Deaton, which occurred a month after Cai gave birth to Bayron and Amelia. And since then, George always sends Logan here because he doesn't want Logan to see him miserable. So our house became Logan's second home, but for Deaton, this will be his first time visiting here.
I decide to play with the kids while Cai is busy preparing the breakfast buffet at the gazebo.
I walk with Bayron and Lia towards the fountain.
Lia, such a cute nickname for Amelia. We started to call her Lia when they turned two because Bayron was having difficulty pronouncing her full name.
"Ok, my little Alphas, show daddy how fast you could run and..." I point in the direction of the porch. "Whoever reaches the porch first will get a reward." I continue.
"I'm sure it's going to be me, daddy!" My clone, Bayron exclaimed, and his gray eyes display tremendous confidence.
"No, daddy, it's going to be me, as always." My sweet Lia says in her cute little voice. And determination reflects in her pretty amber orbs.
"There's only one way to find out. Ready?"
Bayron and Amelia mark their positions.
"On three. One, two, three!"
Lia sprints exactly on the count of three while Bayron doesn't move an inch.
I kneel on one knee on Bayron's side. "You are an amazing brother."
"I told you, daddy; I will take care of Lia. I want to see my sister always smiling."
"That's my boy!" I praise him, and my heart is swelling with pride for how my boy is turning out to be—a protective and loving brother. He will definitely become a great Alpha with this kind of personality.
Bayron begins to run when his sister is halfway to the finish line.
"I win! I won!" Amelia celebrates when her feet touch the porch—jumping up and down in glee for her victory.
I run to my pups and join them. "Great job Lia!"
"I told you, daddy, I'm going to win," she brags.
Bayron and I smile at each other. "Maybe next time I can win," Bayron mumbled.
"Maybe." Lia teases Bayron. They are so cute.
I spread my hands in front of Bayron and Lia. "Come on, little Alphas. Let's help mommy."
They both grasp my hands like excited little monkeys, and as we take our first step, a voice of a young boy called Bayron.
"Bayron!"
"Logan!" Bayron yanks his hand from my grip and runs to Logan.
"Look at these two as if they haven't seen each other last week." George chuckles.
"I think they will act the same even if they do not see each other for a day." I grin.
My eyes travel down to Deaton and offer him a friendly smile. "Is this Deaton? Wow! He's tall for his age."
"Indeed. I was like that when I was his age. Logan as well." George proudly says.
"The DNA of an Alpha King is really a big thing," I say. Then I hear Cai's voice from a distance.
"Dylan could you come..." she stops as I turn around and open our mind link.
"Table is ready. You can bring them here in the gazebo." She informs me.
"Ok, my love. We'll be there." I respond and close the mind link.
"Breakfast is ready," I tell George, and we all march to the venue.

After breakfast, we let the kids play in the garden as we discussed Bayron and Lia's eighteenth birthday.
"If Logan will not find his mate on his eighteenth birthday, I'm proposing to you Dylan and Cai to hold the twins' birthday in my palace since we are inviting all the packs in the continent. It would help if you had an enormous place that can cater to that massive amount of guests." George offers, and I guess it's a good idea.
I turn to Cai. "What do you think?" I consulted her. I don't want to make the same mistake I made years ago.
"Well, I have to agree with George. Our place is not enough to receive that quantity of guests.
I nod in agreement. "Alright then, we'll celebrate their birthday in the palace. Besides, it's going to be Lia's home, so she better get used to it."
"I like that idea, Dylan! Let Lia feel comfortable in her new home. I love how it sounds." George says very enthusiastically; it appears he couldn't wait for Lia to move into the palace.
"Let's just hope her mate will not show up on that day or better hope for the best that Logan is her mate." He adds.
"Deaton can be her mate too." Cai brought up a feasible circumstance.
"That totally slipped my mind. But that's not an issue at all. We will wait for Deaton's birthday to pass, which is only a month after the twins. If he turns out to be Lia's mate, we will marry them, but if not, we'll stick to the first plan." George eagerly explains.
"Ok, George. We are good with that." I say, and we quietly drink our coffee as we watch the kids play.
I want Lia to end up with either Logan or Deaton, and I will do everything to ensure it will happen, even if I have to kill someone. My daughter deserves the best.
Only the best!
