Dark Truth

-“Wake up.” –familiar voice said to me.

I couldn’t open my eyes.

-“Wake up, foolish boy.” –Tremor started pushing my body.

I opened my eyes and so Tremor. He smiled at me but with a worrying voice said:

-“You need to get out of here, you can’t be here. If Fero finds out, we are all doomed.”

I stood up. I was in the forest. It was so beautiful and peaceful. How come anyone could harm anyone here? It is so quiet and birds are singing. Light is coming through the branches of the tree and I could hear a waterfall near here. I could stay here forever.

-“Oh no, you are bewitched of Kanas’ power.” –Tremor laughed. –“Oh, we are so doomed.” –he continued.

-“I don’t care, I wanna be here forever. It is so peaceful. Is this heaven?” –I asked him

-“More like hell.” –he replied.

-“But, it is so beautiful.”

-“It is when she is not around. Come quickly.” – he started pushing me.

-“How come I can see you so clearly?” – I asked him.

He was never been so clear to me. He was always blurry and dark that I couldn’t see his form. Now I can see a black silhouette so clearly that I can even see his arms, legs, and whole body.

-“That is because we are now in the superior world.” – he said. – “Here I am just like you, with flesh and bones.”

I was still delusional because of the beauty of nature. Butterflies everywhere, birds singing, waterfall whispering from beyond.

-“Hurry up foolish boy.” –he started yelling at me.

-“Why are you always yelling at me? Can’t you talk normally?” –I asked him.

-“Foolish boy, if we don’t get out of here fast, Kana and Fero are going to kill you. And me too if they see me helping you.”

After a while, I was woken up and completely aware of what is happening. I saw Tremor running with me throughout the forest. My legs were running without me even putting and effort in them. I guess I was scared of what is going to happen.

-“Where is the exit?” –I asked.

-“I don’t know. I never could understand Kanas’ power. She could manipulate nature's order and zones.” – he said, but this time I could feel that he was scared too.

We were running for so long but I am still not tired. I could run. I don’t know if that was an adrenaline kicking or something else but I wanted to save our lives. Unfortunately in the next few moments, we came across the edge.

-“Edge of her world!” –Tremor screamed. – “We are doomed.”

From the edge and beyond the horizon you could only see the sea and sun. And from that sunlight came Kana to confront us.

-“Whatever she asks you, you just reply honestly.” –he said.

She looked like an angel. Like her sister Fana. But somehow Fana was more manly than she was. Like an sss girl. Kana in the other hand had that female beauty of an angel and   with her parrot wings came to us and said:

-“So you were trying to resurrect Fran?”

I stumbled. Is she talking about the story where I tried to change the aspect of the past?

-“Oh, sad little boy. Want to bring back his love.” –she started. “-There is no point in doing that. She has her peace and you need to let her be. Forget about her and you will be spared. She belongs in a superior world now and you will never be enough honorable to get here nor to have her again.”

While flying above us she looked like a god. So powerful that I was afraid of what she might do next. She could wipe my being of the face of the earth with just one flap of the wing. She put her arms up and said:

-“Tangle!”

Trees behind us grow its branches and tangled us. Now we were in mid-air, tangled, and stunned. We couldn’t move. The tremor started talking:

-“Please auntie. Don’t hurt us. Fana brought him here, you must be aware of that. He did not want to cross the border. I promise. I guard the door I should now…”

-“Silence!” –she yelled.

When words come out of her mouth I felt the energy of life and nature itself. What is this power that she has?   Is she stronger than Tremor and Fero? I could only imagine what Fero can do with his destiny writings.

The tremor was looking at me hopelessly. He knew that we did not grow our powers and that we only started working on them. I guess it is the time that we surpass ourselves and our limits. I thought what we could do but nothing was crossing my mind. I need my arms to write and to change things up. But, then it came to me. Before the handwriting, there was a spoken word that was passed through generations. There you have traditional stories that were, once the handwriting was invented, written on a piece of paper that everybody could know about. I started searching for a word that could help us get away from this situation and the only word I could come up is “broken wings.” So believing in myself I took some courage that was left in me from adrenaline and said:

-“Broken wings!”

Her wings broke. She fell. She started screaming from pain. While she was falling her spell of tangling roots and branches was broken. We were free. Tremor looked at me amazed but yet afraid of what I have done. Sun was immediately covered by dark clouds and Fana appeared from lightning.

-“KANA!” –she screamed.

-“Oh no, we are totally doomed.” –said  Tremor.

I could not believe that I helped us get away from Kana. But, now Fana appeared and what should we do next? After I realized that my words can even change destiny when I want to I just said:

-“Back to the human world!”

 Next thing you know we were back at my house. The front door is destroyed and we were standing in my hallway. Tremor is still physical. I can still see the shape of his body. Something went wrong.

-“Are you ok? “ – I asked him.

He started crying. He did not want any of this to happen. His black figure started walking around the house and saying some words that I could not understand. I guess that was their language. What is he trying to do?

-“Tell me what is going on?” –I started following him.

-“You ruined everything. You took her wings and now we have a price to pay. I am now a traitor in their eyes. Soon I will get a form of a human, my powers don’t even work anymore.” –He started panicking.

His black figure is running around the house and I am just standing there. I did what I needed to do to save us from our deaths. We could have died. I don’t know what they wanted from us and why Fana brought us to Kanas's natural world.

-“Come one, we need to get some rest.” –I said calmly. –“After, we will figure out what should we do.

He looked at me with desperate eyes and like his whole world was broken. I guess in some true moments it is true. Eventually, he will become human-like any other. No different. We went to the bedroom and layed together. He was acting like a little child and come to cuddle with me. His head was now on my chest and I was going through his dark hair with my fingers. We have fallen asleep.
