The next day came quickly and I was told that I was going shopping again.
We had to buy stuff for school, as resumption was very close. I didn't even have anything for school, so I needed the shopping session.
I was supposed to be excited about it, but when I was told who I was going with, the excitement died as soon as it came.
I was going with none other than grumpy Ethan and his stupid girlfriend, Brittany. There was no way I wanted to go with them, but I had no choice.
Olivia wasn't available, and she hadn't been, cause it seemed she had been busy with pack duties, so I didn't say anything cause I didn't want to bother her too much.
When I was done preparing, I sighed as I took one last look in the mirror. I wanted to be the one to wait for them so that they would t have any reason to speak to me rudely or even speak to me at all.
The car was already waiting for us outside, so I walked up to it and sat down, waiting for Ethan and Brittany.
After a little while, they still hadn't come down, and I was starting to get annoyed. Just as I was about to ask one of the maids why they weren't coming down, they walked out of the front door, and Brittany opened the door of the car.
She had a smile on her face before, but as soon as she saw me, it disappeared.
“What the hell is she doing here?” She asked Ethan, her face contorted in disgust as she eyed me from head to toe.
“I told you that they're making her attend the same school as us, don't you remember?” Ethan said annoyed as she pushed past her to sit in the car.
Thankfully, the car was more of a van, so we didn't have to sit close to each other.
“Well, I wouldn't remember something as irrelevant, so it's not a surprise I would forget,” she got into the car and closed the door. “Why would your father make her attend the same school as us? Seriously there are a lot of other schools that she could attend where there are people like her, so why ours? She could ruin your reputation if people found out she was related to you somehow,” she kept blabbing.
“I don't have the answer to that question, Brittany,” Ethan said as he rested his head on the headrest and closed his eyes.
“Just letting you know, you'll never be welcome there, so just get ready to have the worst time of your life. I'd advise you to go to school with people like you, then there would be nothing to talk about or even laugh about because all of you are the same, fat and poor,” she laughed.
I sighed as I shook my head. It wasn't like I was expecting the trip to the mall to be a peaceful one. I knew Brittany would always look for a way to pick at me.
We finally got to the mall, and Ethan and Brittany walked away from me, leaving me alone with two maids to help me around.
I walked around, taking only what I needed, not wanting to overdo it. When I had everything, and it was time to pay, neither Ethan nor Brittany were anywhere to be found, as I needed to pay for what I bought. I searched the changing rooms and hidden corners of the store, but they weren't there.
I decided to check the bathroom, and as soon as I entered, I heard some noises coming from the stall at the very end. It sounded like moans, but I didn't know whether they were of pain or pleasure, so I walked closer, only to see Ethan and Brittany in the stall making out with the door open.
I stood there frozen because I was shocked. That was the last thing I expected to see, and I didn't move for a while as I watched them caress and molest each other's bodies. Brittany happened to open her eyes, and she screamed and pushed Ethan away.
They both turned to see me, and both their expression turned annoyed.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Brittany asked annoyed. “Do you have to follow us everywhere, or did you want to join in?” she mocked.
Disgusting, like I would never.
“Stop f*****g following us around. You're annoying. Did you have to stand there and disturb us? You could easily have just left when you saw us, but no you had to stand there and stare like a moron, so now that your mission has been accomplished, what is it that you want?” Ethan ranted as he straightened his shirt and adjusted his pants.
“Well, I was done shopping, and I didn't have any money to pay,” I told him and he and Brittany burst out laughing.
“How can you come shopping and not have any money to pay? How much more daft can you be?” Ethan mocked. “I've never met anyone as dense as you are,”
They both get out of the bathroom stall, leaving me to walk behind them like some kind of maid or underling.
“I'm sorry for putting you in this situation. I'll pay back every dime when we get back to the house,” I said.
“And where would you get the money to pay back? You seem to have forgotten that you're only in Ethan's house because you're broke,” Brittany laughed, reminding me of my reality.
That was when I went silent. I didn't know how to reply, because everything they had said was true. I was drained, not because I had done any hard job, but because just talking to them had drained me both mentally and physically.
Ethan took all the stuff he and Brittany bought, thankfully plus mine, and paid for everything. The maids loaded everything in the car, and I helped them, but while I was doing so, Ethan and Brittany got into the car we had used when coming and drove off leaving me behind to ride with the maids.
It wasn't like I had any problem with it, if anything I was pleased that I wouldn't be sharing the same air space with them.
But I was really sad and frustrated by everything that was going on, I have never felt so unwanted in my life and I wished I could just get a break.
