Chapter 9London Will Alec had come himself to meet the boat. Will had thought he might. He was extraordinarily pleased to see him standing there on the quayside at Tilbury, waiting for them. “Afternoon,” Alec said, dryly, stepping forward to shake hands. “Smooth sailing?” Will nodded and then gestured to Fenn and Keren. “Pretty smooth. Frem aren’t sea-goers, though, it turns out.” They’d both been pretty sea-sick coming up through Biscay. Fenn stepped forward for a handshake. “It is good to see you again, Detective Carter,” he said. Alec responded, “And you, Fenn. I understand you and your brother may be staying for a while?” Fenn stepped back and beckoned Keren forward. “My sibling, Keren. It seems likely. Will told you?” Alec nodded, “Enough to grasp the basics, yes.” Keren look
