Chapter 7 Angel POV

1112 Words
When I had that horrible conversation with Peter, he cried. It broke my heart. I didn't see or speak to him for all three days, and it was tearing me apart inside. When, on the fourth day, he came to me with a miraculous idea, I immediately agreed. He wanted us to get married, so I had an excuse to stay or he would leave with me. Same-s*x marriage has been legal for many years, and when we were going to prepare everything, my uncle stopped me and put some sense into my head. Peter and I were inconsolable. I have finally reached the end of my senior year, and today is my graduation day. I will receive my diploma today. I have been studying at TASIS, The American School in England since I came to the UK. My uncle chose to keep me as "Americanised" as possible, in his words. It's a good school, and I finished my senior year at the top. I'm the student with the best GPA, right after Peter. My peers call us the nerd couple, but we think it's funny. Peter chose to study at the University of Oxford. I planned to go with him, but I had to withdraw the application. Now, I don't know if I'm going to college or if I'm staying in the pack, but when I get to America, I'll decide. Peter and I decided to go to graduation together, and his mom and my aunt kept taking pictures of us. When my name was called, right at the beginning, everyone applauded me. We still had to wait a long time for Peter's turn, who was almost one of the last to be called. When we got home, Peter and I drove to the beach. We sat, hugged, kissed, and cried nonstop. Tomorrow, I will get on my uncle's jet and head back to the pack that had seen me born. Peter didn't come to see me at the airport. We thought it was best to say goodbye that night during a torrid lovemaking session. I never thought it would be so hard to see my boyfriend cry, and I know he will cry for a long time, like me. We hope that we'll see each other again one day and stay together forever. I hugged my Alpha and my Luna. What I mean to say, is that I hugged my uncle and aunt, who weren't happy to see me go. I said goodbye to my cousin and her mate, and passing my hand over her belly, I said in her ear “River, it's a boy and a girl's name. That's my choice.”. My cousin makes a big smile and hugs me, letting the tears wet my shoulder. I got on the jet, but I didn't get on alone. My cousin decided to accompany me. He wanted to make sure I was well received, and only then would he return home. We sat in silence, drinking a Coke which the flight attendant had provided for us. It was more than seven hours of tedious travel and we ended up falling asleep. When the plane arrives in American waters, the pilot turns on the speaker and announces it to us. We prepare to land. At the airport there was a helicopter waiting for us, and only my personal bags were with us. All my other luggage is still coming, in a container, crossing the Atlantic by boat, and is going to be delivered to me in the pack, by truck. Flying over America until I reached my destination, I was thinking about everything I left behind, and trying to guess what the future would bring. I was very apprehensive. I didn't feel any connection to the Lycon Moon Pack, but it was my destiny to be their Beta. My cousin was trying to get me back to England. He wanted me to be his Beta. He was very cute. It's too bad he's not my mate. Even though he's underage, I would know, right? When the helicopter flies over the pack lands, and I see everything in the pack, I get worried. Nothing there had looked like my uncle's pack. - Angel, for the love of the Moon Goddess. This pack lives in the Middle Ages. How are you going to survive here? No stores, malls, coffee shops, bars and clubs. You'll die of boredom. I had to laugh, but it was true. I was thinking exactly the same. Would I get used to rural life, coming from a pack that fully lives in the 21st century? My cousin is the first to get out when the helicopter lands on the helipad. He would like to “smell” the environment, he said to me, making me giggle. He really is very funny, but stronger than me, still only 17 years old. He was going to be an extraordinary alpha. My cousin looks around and fixes his eyes on a group that I imagine is waiting for me. The pilot takes my luggage out and leaves it on the ground next to my cousin. “You can come out now. I see no danger.” – my cute cousin says through mind-link. And I obey my former alpha-to-be one last time. I had a simple outfit. I chose not to wear the most daring outfits that I like so much. I didn't want to look too modern in my presentation in my pack. The Moon Goddess is my witness to how I like my outfits, but today I'm wearing light blue jeans, ripped above the right knee, a tight white T, which I tucked into my jeans, a jacket the same color as the jeans, that I tied at the waist. It was hot to wear it. White Jordans, a white belt, and finally, my favorite adornments, small round earrings, three natural stone bracelets, onyx, tiger's eye, and selenite, my favorites, and a ring Peter had given me, in gold, with a design of a wolf howling at the moon. Peter didn't know about my second life but knew I loved wolves. I looked at my reflection in the window, smoothing my slightly long blonde hair that framed my blue eyes. Every time I look at myself in the mirror, I see my mom. I guess my father doesn't really like me. That used to make me sad, but not anymore. My real parents, I left behind in the UK. I was fine, and with confidence, I jumped out of the helicopter and walked towards my cousin. Together, we started walking towards the group that was waiting for me.
