I hugged my Lady grandmother before climbing inside the carriage. She wipes away the tears that fell from her eyes.
“Do your duty, and be happy, my sweet louise.” She mumbles, as she puts her arms around me.
“I will, granny.” I sob. The tears fell on its own.
She transfer her gaze to Amelia, “Take care of her and yourself, Okay?” she said to her.
“Yes, Mi’Lady.” Amelia replied, smiling at her.
It was a good thing, she allowed me to keep Amelia as my personal maid. She sits across from me, as she looks at the window, watching the trees that we passing by.
“Are you nervous?” She asked. Her hair was braided, and she’s wearing a proper dress. She’s so pretty with her pinkish cheeks, small nose and big eyes, no one would mistake her for a servant.
“Nervous about what?” I asked back,
“Nervous that you will meet this Elliot. What if you see him there?” She said, and it never occured to me that it would even happen. I don’t even know if he exist.
“He’s not real, Amelia.” I said in a small voice, in full defeated.
“You know what i feel?” She asked, and leans forward to me. Her hand touching my knees.
“What?”
“I feel like you belong with him. Because you’ve been dreaming about him since we were 14.”
I snorts a laugh. “We have to be more realistic, Amelia. That man is not real.” I said, I don’t know if I’m trying to convince her or maybe, myself.
We arrived at my father’s mansion during midnight, The servants are the one who welcome us. They told me that my family are already sleeping. They usher us to my room, and i told them, I’d like to keep Amelia in my room.

I grabbed my watch from the side table of my bed to check the time and put it back. I padded to the kitchen, making sure I won't make a noise that would cause the servants to woke up. I tried everything to get rid of this man out of my head and dreams. But I can't seem to forget him nor I can get rid him off of my mind. It's quite frustrating, to fancy someone you never have the chance to meet. And sometimes, I do wonder if that man does even exist at all. Well, if he doesn't, it would be better for me. If he do exist, I don't know what to do.
"Seriously? Louise? You should've not been thinking about these dreams and that man. You should be worried about what you're going to wear for the Masquerade Ball tomorrow." A female voice said, that causes me to shriek.
"Amelia. You scared me." I hissed at her. Which made her laugh even more.
"Sorry, my bad." She said, apologetically. "Another dream?"
"Yeah. It's frustrating. I don't know why I'm dreaming about him when I totally don't know him." I said.
"How I wish, I know the answers to your questions." She said. "But think about it later. You need to sleep, you've been stressing yourself about these ridiculous dreams."
"I hate to say this, but it felt so real. I can't believe I said that. But one thing I'm sure of, is the feeling whenever i see him." I said,
*******
I glance at my reflection through the mirror.
My dark hair is in a messy bun that has a slight curl underneath the big bun. I was really irritated to the beautician, he plucks my eyebrow as if he wants to peel my skin off. I told him not to put heavy glamour on my face. I'm glad that he obey though. He just put a thin line to my eyes using his liquid eyeliner and a bit of mascara. He made my lips emphasized with the red lipstick that he painted on my lips and my emerald green eyes are glowing.
I hooked my dangling into the hole of my ears. I look different in this off shoulder lace red gown, the gown is occupying the floor. I'm glowing, I never see myself glow before, I was always pale.
The door of my room opens, Anne came in. She's wearing her orange gown, that fits her perfect body. And she's wearing her orange mask, matching her gown.
"You look beautiful." She said.
"So do you." I said.
"Here, Lady Mother had this made for you." She said, handing me the black mask that shines like a diamond. It's odd, but it's beautiful.
"Black?" I said.
"Yes. Mom said it would emphasize your emerald eyes." She rolls her eyes, I chuckled.
I put the mask on my face and I took a deep breath and glance at myself at the mirror.
We arrived at the Clarence mansion, The house of my betrothed. The place is luxurious as expected, Except for the crowded people right now.
"Elliot is looking for you. “ Anne mutters as she whisper to me.
"Okay." I mutter, couldn’t contain the nervousness out of my voice.
I walked passed the crowded people in their expensive clothing and expensive gowns. A man from a far, across to me, caught my eyes. He looks so awfully familiar. He has a pale skin, and his dark wavy hair hangs just below his ears. He's wearing a dark suit and a black mask similar to mine. But what really caught my attention, is his eyes. He's the man from my dream.
My feet dragged me towards the man, I've been longing and mad for. I'm like a metal, a metal that drowns into a magnet.
He enters into a room. He seems to know the place.
Before I could stop myself, I turn the knob and enter inside the room. I pressed the lock.
He's tall, and his wide broad shoulder suits him. He turns around, his eyes widens when he saw me. When He took off his mask, my heart skips a beat. He answered my unspoken question.
It's really him.
"Not again. This is just a dream." I muttered in disbelief.
