Our Chance

Chapter 6

"This is more than I ever imagine, everything looks good thank for your help," Mrs. Moreno said to me

"I am glad you like it ma'am" I smile at her

"Please Laura call me Clara," She said

"Ok ma'....... Clara" She moves closer to me and hug me"

"You are such a sweet girl. I want to apologize on behalf of my son, I know the way he treated you is not nice at all" She rubs her hand on her forehead "Luca is not always like this, my son is the very kind-hearted man I have ever seen, he became like this because of all the atrocity his ex-fiancé did to him. Since then he never trusts anybody again most especially women. I am so sorry for whatever insult he passed on you because of that" She said with tears in her eyes.

"Please Eva, don't cry, I am sure he will come to his sense and be a better person you said he is" I wipe her tears and hug her.

"Thanks dear, we should go and get ready because the guests will soon be arriving," She said.

I went to the maid quarters and find something nice to wear, I put on a nice dress and apply a little bit of makeup on my face, finally, I put on a flat sandal there is no reason of getting overdressed because I will be on my feet throughout the day serving the guest.

I exited my room and proceed to the venue to make sure everything is alright when I get there some quest are already there.

Soon the celebrant arrived and all of them shouted "Happy birthday Luca" He looked around but no traces of a smile on his face at all.

"Thanks" That is the only word he said

A young-looking handsome guy I discovered recently to be his brother told him to get dressed and both of them made their way to his bedroom and later come outside looking dashing and handsome in his three-piece suit.

"Mom dad, you should not have bothered yourself about all this," He said to his parents.

"Now that I have bothered myself about all this, can you at least put on a smile to appreciate my efforts?" His mother said to him and he hugs her.

"Thanks mom," he said with a faint smile.

The party gets started, Clara said she invited only family and friends but what I am seeing now is more than that.

"Hey beauty, can I get a drink?" I turned around to the voice and met a handsome guy looking at me from head to toes.

"What did you like to have sir?" I asked him

"Anything as good as you" He winked at me and staring at my chest licking his lips at the same time.

I refer to him as a handsome guy the last time but I made a mistake he is a jerk and pervert.

"Sir, tell me what you want to get it for you" He looks at me and runs his tongue over his lips before he told me what he wants.

After I get what he wants for him, I move away from him and serve all other guests that request something. I also make sure everything goes smoothly and the guests are okay and enjoy themselves.

At the end of the party, some guests are leaving while some are still enjoying their selves talking and chatting with each other.

"Where is Luca?" Eva asked me.

"I did not see him around here, I don't know" I reply her

"Please look for him and told him that I want to have a word with him" I nodded my head and excuse myself from there.

I look for him everywhere, I also went to check his room but he is not there. I ask some of the workers but no one sees him.

"Dear, why are you moving up and down? What are you looking for?" Mary asked me

"I am looking for Mr. Moreno his mom wants him," I said to her

After searching everywhere, Mary told me where he is. He seated in the small living room on the third floor, he is the only one that goes there he never allows anybody there unless he permits you to go there.

I knock on the door and I make sure I heard 'come in' before I enter because this place is a 'no go area' for us.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me

"Sir, your mother is looking for you" I saw him sitting with his friends each occupied themselves with a glass of drink in their hand and there are a lot of empty bottles on the table.

"Ok, tell her I am coming and pack all these empty bottles" I grab the small trash bin at the corner of the room to pack the empty bottles

As I bend down to pack the empty bottles, one of his friends grabs my butt and squeezes it. I turned around and see that he is the jerk that asks for a drink during the party. "Sir, please that is not polite" I talk to him politely.

"Don't worry girl, name your price and I am ready to pay" I ignore him and continue clearing the table.

I looked at my boss maybe he will stop his friend but he acts as if he did not see or understand what is happening.

After packing all the empty bottles on the table, I pick up the garbage bin and made my way outside but before I take another step, I feel a strong, masculine hand wrapped around my waist from behind. He turned me around and trapped me with his large body towering against the wall making me drop the garbage bin in my hand.

I feel really scared of him, he looked like a predator ready to attack his prey "P…p…..p…lease sir let me go" I hit his hand from my waist and pushed him away, I carry the trash bin and want to go out but he steps in front of me blocking my way not allowing me to go out.

I went to my boss and told him to talk to his friend to allow me to go, he looks at me and did not say anything. What he did next shocked me.

He reached out for his wallet and takes out some money and throws them at me.

"Take that and allow him to f**k you if the amount he is offering you is not enough" I stand there shocked and look at him "Stop acting innocent and do what you are good at. He stands up and leans closer to me "Stop pretending, this is an opportunity for you" I slapped him hard across his face.

I turned around to move out and I saw Clara and Mary standing by the door. I walk past both of them and made my way to my room. I dump myself on the bed and let out all the tears I am holding earlier.

I packed all my stuff and move out, on my way out I saw Clara, she hugs me she apologizes for what happened earlier and I told her it is okay.

When I get home, I undressed and filled up the tub with warm water and immerse myself in the water, after some minutes I take a quick shower since it is nighttime already, I went to bed and cry myself to sleep.
