Chapter Eight Dang! Ran into the Queen and Monica

965 Words
Bella POV I left Lorenzo’s room and sneaked into the laundry room, trying to “borrow” one of the servant’s dresses. Why was I doing that? Because there was a damn rule in the Palace. I was not allowed to leave the Palace, not even for a walk without permission as Queen Mariana said, a proper Luna shall not idle around the street. Oh, come on. I was not idling, okay? And I had been staying at the Palace all day for these three years. I had never been out of the Palace, except a few times when I had to follow the Queen or the Prince to pay a visit to some of the tribes. Whatever, I was going to get out today. Me and Lara’s plan was to dress like a servant and use the side door to leave as there were fewer guards at the side door. Besides, that was usually the door the servants would use to go out and get things the ranked wolf needed. Lucky for me. As the laundry was usually done in the morning, there was no one in the laundry room at the moment. I searched around the room and soon found an old dress of a servant. I took the dress, put 10 dollars in that place in exchange for the dress, and left. After getting changed, I immediately headed for the side door. When I walked past the garden, I saw Queen Mariana and Monica. Dang, they were talking about me. Most importantly, they were in the way. I now could only act after they left. “Monica, the King was already blinded by that vicious Isabella White. And now, even the Prince seemed to be blinded by her. I am so worried about that. She could even push you down the stairs this time. Maybe next time she is going to push me down the stairs.” Queen Mariana sighed. “Tsk, tsk. They are so good at framing us. Should I remind her that she is always the one who makes you suffer? You’ve followed every one of her stupid instructions and rules in these three years, yet she can still say something so terrible like this!” Lara was pissed off and grunted in my head. “In her mind, not being an Alpha’s daughter and not coming from an upper-class family are already my sins.” I shrugged. “So true. What a snobbish old woman!” Lara snorted. “So, we don’t have to be angry about that. Just watch the show.” I said half-jokingly. “Yeah, what a show.” Lara made a face at them. “Your Majesty, I really don’t want to believe that Isabella can be so vicious. But she not only denied the fact that she pushed me down the stairs, but also lied to His Highness and made him be skeptical of my words. Was she trying to cast a bone in between me and His Highness as me and His Highness had been friends when we were children?” Monica wept. “She must be.” Queen Mariana snorted. “I think so too. She must be envious of me and His Highness’s relations and worrying that I will take her Luna’s place. After all, you and His Highness treat me so well.” Monica continued. “It’s my great honor to have you, Your Majesty, by my side. You are like my godmother.” “Monica, you are such a nice girl. Not to mention that you are Alpha Ken’s daughter, with Alpha’s blood. With your status and fine character, you are a better match for the Prince and will be more fit for the Luna position. Don’t worry, my dear. Isabella White will be cast out of the Palace sooner or later.” Queen Mariana said. “Your Majesty, both the Prince and the Luna position are too good for me. I am just an Alpha’s spoiled daughter, per my father’s words, and I am not good enough for His Highness. He deserves someone better, like a pure-blood alpha shewolf.” Monica’s tears streamed down her face. She was acting like it was so hurtful and hard for her to say those words. “There, there, sweetie. You silly girl. You’re already good enough. Besides, there isn’t any lady with pure alpha blood in the States. It’s just a legend. We haven’t heard of that for almost a hundred years.” Queen Mariana took Monica’s hand, trying to comfort her. “Am I really good enough for His Highness?” Monica asked, looking timid and shy. “Of course. Don’t worry, the King is already impatient about Isabella White not being about to give birth to an heir for almost three years. If she still fails to get pregnant in a few months, I have confidence that I can talk him through and ask him to choose another proper Lady, like you, to be the Luna.”Queen Mariana said. “Your Majesty, you’re so nice to me. I don’t know how to repay your kindness. I will do whatever you want me or ask me to do in the future. I will be the person you want me to be.” Monica smiled through tears. “No worries, my dear. There, I will announce that I invite you to the Palace to be my guest for a few months. You can take this period of time to get along well with the Prince.” “Thank you so much, Your Majesty. I will.” “Good girl, let’s go get your prepared for the dinner. Go dress up and amaze the Prince.” “Aye, Your Majesty.” Monica lowered her head a bit and replied shyly.
