CHAPTER 5

LUCIAN'S POV

"come let's find her , why even in the hell would she run away from us like that , didn't she recognize us" liv was full of rage , i***t boy , she might be overwhelmed or something , may be she was just nervous , i know she couldn't forget about us, she wouldn't , we are her brothers , her family .  

we ran out of the cafeteria to find her , but she wasn't anywhere , she wasn't in any of her classes , we even checked the girl's washroom too but she wasn't there , we were going to check some empty classes , when i saw a man in his mid 20s running towards one of the empty classes and then entering,he kinda seems familiar but what this man is doing here in school . i for some unknown reasons waited and i really did a good job by waiting because the next moment i  saw him coming out along with her , why the hell is he touching her , she is my sister , but she wasn't afraid , instead she seemed to be comfortable . i followed them and i knew they were going to the parking lot , GOD SAVE THIS MAN FROM US 

" come to the parking lot ASAP"  

I texted liv while i kept following them , the man opened the car door for nevie and she slided inside .

"luce where is nev ,did you find her" val asked me but i didn't have time to tell him everything in detail we could lose them .

"val go and tell everyone about this , while me and liv will follow them"

"them" liv asked perplexed 

"come with me and i'll tell you everything ok"

NEER POV

i drove back us home ,taara was silent for the whole ride , but it wasn't the silence that was my concern , it was the blank look that she had , she was with me yet she was lost somewhere , the way her forehead was forming creases again and again , i knew there was something that she was thinking about too deeply . 

we reached home and she stepped out of the car , she was so lost that she didn't even see the stairs 

"taara , atleast look where you are going" i said grabbing her arm when she was about to stumble over the stairs . 

"s-sorry"she mumbled and i just gave her a smile , she was just too adorable for her own good . 

"lets go" i took her wrist and led her inside . 

"i-i am s-sorry neer , because of me you have to come leaving all your work behind..i-i seriously tried , but i just couldn't" her head was hung low as she spoke those words , she was embarrassed .

"shhh taara , it's ok , you are my priority and know it right , then why are you apologizing " i cupped her face and kissed her forehead , she leaned to me and hugged me tightly , i want to see her tears , i want her to cry but she doesn't , even though she trusts me a lot but it's only her family that could break all those frozen up emotions ,only they can break her shell , until and unless she won't let go of her pain , her past won't let go of her . her sufferings are severe .

"freshen up , i'll cook lunch for us " i stroked her hairs and she nodded in a no , her eating disorders are  other things that are still not gone , even though they have reduced a lot but they are still there and i want them to completely go . 

"i am tired i'll just sleep , but i promise i'll eat after i wake up" she smiled and walked towards her room . i touched the locket around my neck and clutched it tightly . 

"you know siya , this is hard , this so hard to see her like this, she is so like you , everything of her reminds me of you but i know that this is still not her , i want her to go back to how she was before , even though i don't know how she was in her past but i am sure that she must be very funloving , childish and talkative person just like you , i couldn't save you but i promise i'll save her " i kissed the locket that siya gave me , this locket makes me feel like she is with me .

DREAM SEQUENCE - read it cuz it is important and give you a glimpse of Nevaeh / taara's past 

the 11 year old girl was trembling in fear , fear wasn't even the word that could describe what she was feeling , her cheeks were drenched with tears , her throbbing heart was now aching , she was struggling hard to escape the grip of the two buff men but she was so small while they were strong , huge and scary . even a single slap from them could send her to heaven 

"p-please l-leave m-me , i-i want t-to g-go back h-home" the little girl cried as she tried to escape the men's grip , but it was just impossible . 

they were standing just outside the mansion and her cries were echoing in the whole mansion . 

"awww slut why are you crying so much " a taunting voice came making the girl tremble in utmost fear , she was familiar with this voice , the voice that haunts her every second , the voice of the devil who had made her life a living hell . 

"p-please i-i am sorry " the little girl cried more , she didn't want him to beat her again . 

"Didn't i tell you not to escape or run away  slut" his voice cold as ice , his demeanor was enough to kill herself , he was just 18 year old but he was capable enough of killing even thousands of people at the same time without any remorse , he was a monster in disguise . 

"p-please m-master f-forgive me i-i am sorry " she cried again but it only earned her a tight slap .she whimpered in pain and cried more . 

"SHUT THE f**k UP , IF YOU CRY ANYMORE THEN I WOULD CUT YOUR TONGUE AND FEED IT YOU , UNDERSTOOD" he roared and that shut her up the instant , she knew he wasn't lying , if he said then he would do it and noone would stop him from doing so . 

"get on your knees now" the little girl followed his command , her hands and legs were trembling furiously , everyone looking at the little girl ,laughed at her without any pity , they had no heart to care about her , she was another source of their entertainment 

"now crawl to your room" he ordered and she crawled over to her room like an obedient dog , the room was not a room , it was a cell , it had a very thin mattress on the floor and a single window , nothing else . when she finally reached her room , she couldn't stop the tears that were leaving her eyes , she knew another torture was coming for her . 

she stiffened when the door opened and the devil came with the same two men . 

"get me the rod " he ordered the men and she started shivering , she couldn't beg because it would only double up her punishment , so she just stayed rooted to her place , her fist tightly clenched on either side of her . she saw how he came over to her with a burning rod , her eyes widened , her heart was in her throat now , she looked at him with pleading eyes but didn't utter even a single word , while he just smirked , he loved her fear , her pain , her tears and her cries were music to him . 

"this would always remind you that you aren't allowed to run away " saying that he grabbed her feet and started burning her little feet with the rod , she screamed her lungs out but noone helped her or  stopped him . the cell filled her with her painful screams . 

" Taara .."

"taara wake up"

her eyes  snapped open  and she found neer infront of her , who was trying to calm her down , he hugged her and kept her hand over his heart . 

"feel it and breathe accordingly " he ordered her gently , she listened to his heart beat and soon her breathings went back to normal . while neer wiped off her sweat and pushed her wet hairs behind her ears . 

"are you ok now" neer asked her but she didn't say anything ,instead she removed the quilt off herself and grabbed her feet in her hands only to see them scarred , a proof that it wasn't just a nightmare but it was her haunting past that had revisited her again . 

"n-neer th- i He - i am he" she couldn't form her words properly , there was so much terror in her voice that neer couldn't help but hug her tightly to assure her that she was with him and he would burn the whole world down before he lets anyone hurt her again .
