Oh Happy Days

After that night he came over her house so they could study, she seemed to be warming up to him more, even laughing at his dumb jokes. She was so excited she had finally made a friend, a genuine friend, even if he only came over to study, it truly ment something to her.   It was almost 6:00pm and he was expected to show up, she became eager waiting for him, she couldn't help but feel happy when he came over now, it was the highlight of her day. She heard the door bell ring and she rushed over to answer it, "Hey!" he said smiling, "Hey!" she replied back returning the smile. "So what we got on the agenda today?" she said opening up her text book and flipping through the pages. "I thought we could take a break from studying, maybe go get a bite to eat" he replied with question to his voice.  Her eyes shot up from the book at him, "You want to go get something to eat w-with me?" she said hesitantly, "Yeah why not?  I'm starving an you must be hungry too, whats one burger going to hurt?" with a smile forming on his face, "I guess your right..." she said softly, he walked her out of the house and to the car, opening the door for her as she took a seat. Oh... what did I get myself into... she thought. Sitting at the booth she started to feel nervous, maybe it was from all the people surrounding them or maybe it was from being around Bryant, the waitress came up to the table placing their food on it, she sat there admiring the 50's style theme the place had. The furnitrue was decked out red and white checkered leather, there was a jukebox in the corner playing Elvis Presley on it, and the floors were filled with black and white checkers. It reminded her of the show Happy Days. “Are you going to eat?” she heard him say as her eyes returned back to the table.“The food here is amazing!” hesaid while chomping down on his burger.“Yeah” she said softly staring at the large burger placed in front of her, she picked it up and nibbled a little from the side. “This place is amazing..” she said with excitement to her voice “I would never picture someone like...” then she quickly realized what had just come out of her mouth and stared back down at the table in embarrassment. He laughed and said “Yeah a lot of people would expect me to come here”, “I didn’t mean it like that” she quickly said shyly still looking down at the table.  “It’s alright, I love this place, has the best burgers in town” he said with a giggle. She looked back up at him and smiled.  As they sat there eating she noticed the waitress continuing to glance over at him, she was wearing a 50’s style outfit. She was really pretty, she had on a little poodle skirt, with a white blouse tucked in, her hair was in a high ponytail with tight brown curls flowing down. She must have liked Bryant from the way she was staring at him, as if she wanted to take him in the back of the restaurant and seduce him right then and there. “I think she likes you” whispering to him, “Who?” he asked looking around, “The girl over there, she keeps looking at you”, he looked directly at the girl, who was now smiling. “Don’t look!” she said with a slight giggle to her voice, he began laughing and quickly replied “Oh her… yeah that’s Britt, she's nice an all but she gets around if you know what I mean”, she looked at him with amazement, “Really? I would have never thought that, I mean she looks so sweet”,“Never judge a book by it’s cover” he replied back with a smile.  He was right, I mean look at me!  He thought I was this sweet and innocent girl but underneath he had no idea how messed up I really was, she thought to herself.  As they finished their food and headed out to the car, he lit up a cigarette, asking if she would like one, she shook her head no, as he finished he helped her into the car and began to drive her home.  When they reached her house he looked over at her, placing his hand on hers, she could feel her herself become nervous by his touch, she wasn't sure what his next move was, she gripped the door handle just in case she had to make a run for it. "I had a great time tonight, thanks for coming out and having dinner with me", he said sweetly as a bright smile came across his face, she let out a sigh of releif  before replying "I really enjoyed it, thank you for inviting me" she said as she glared at him waiting for him to pounce on her like a wild tiger.  He slowly leaned in and kissed her cheek softly before returning back to his normal position. She could feel her face becoming warm, she couldn't help but not like his soft lips on her cheek, but she knew she had to get out of there before anything else happened, she quickly opened the door to the car and jumped out. "Goodnight Bryant" she said walking with a fast pace to the door, leaving him sitting there wondering what the hell he did wrong.
