I couldn’t believe he kissed me! What was he thinking? I mean i’m not going to lie, it was really nice, his lips were so soft pressed up against my cheek, but NO! I couldn’t go down that road again! Last time something like this happened I ended up in a back room fighting for my life, I took a vow to never let myself be put in that position again! I haven’t been touched from a guy since that night, hell I haven’t even spoken to one! She thought to herself sitting back on the couch. She let out a loud sign and looked at the time, I knew mom and dad would be home late, they were both called in tonight by the hospital due to an emergency situation. I loved my parents but they were never home, they were always at the hospital tending to their job. Dad was a surgeon and mom was the head nurse of the department, I always wanted to follow in their footsteps, helping people and caring for the sick, but how was I going to do that if I couldn’t even help myself! I wish I could talk to someone about everything that happened, but I was terrified, I was terrified my parents would find out that something so horrible happened to their sweet little girl, it would crush them! I just decided to keep my poker face on as best as I could and hoped all this would go away.
The next day at school I walked quickly through the parking lot trying to avoid seeing Bryant, after what happened yesterday I couldn’t face him! I knew he would be mad at me, I mean I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t tell his friends that I was some crazed b***h! I clenched my books tightly to my chest and focused on the ground as I hurried to the big doors of the building. I headed straight to my first period and took a seat before the bell had rung sighing in relief. Thank goodness he didn’t see me! I thought, pulling out my books from my bag. A crowd of kids began to fill the room and I felt myself slowly slumping further down in my seat and hiding my face behind a book. I felt eyes on me and people continuing to talk and laugh, I knew what they were saying something about me, I knew they all thought I was some lying w***e, especially after what Mathew had told everyone. I felt my heart begin to race as the laughter increased, I felt my body become tense and I had to get out of there, I grabbed my bag leaving my books laying on the desk and took flight, I rushed out the room and quickly down the hall, my breathing was starting to become rapid as I felt I couldn’t breath, I needed air! She rushed out the building and collapsed over placing her hands on her knees trying to control her breathing. I needed to get a grip on myself, I needed to try to calm myself down but I knew after the stunt I just pulled there was no way I was going back to class. I couldn’t face those people! Her breathing began to calm some as she raised her head up and looked at the parking lot. She started towards the empty cars, she had made her mind up to just leave and go home.
She heard loud rock music coming towards her heading for the school, sure enough it was Bryant and his friend, I think his name is Aaron, I remember the teacher calling out to him yesterday in class, he dressed in dark clothes just like Bryant but his was black hair which swooped over his face to the side, he definiety looked more gothic than Bryant. Oh goodness! Please don't stop.. Please don't stop.. she said to herself walking faster, trying to get away from his sight. The music grew louder as he approached her, "Paige! Where are you going?" he called out over the music, she continued to walk acting as if she didn't hear him, "Paige!" he said again turning the music down. Darn! Now I have to speak to him!, after what happened that was the last thing I wanted to do. She turned towards him, "H-hey" she studdered out, "Where are you going? Schools that way" pointing the opposite way to the school, "I know i'm just not feeling very well and decided to just go home", "Oh well in that case I'll give you a ride so you won't have to walk" he said nicely with a smile. He pushed his friend on his back towards the passanger door nudging him to get out, which he did with a huff, "You better be back to pick me up this afternoon fucker!" Aaron yelled out at him as he walked towards the building. He patted on the seat telling her to sit down, she stood there for a moment before getting in still worried about what he would say.
She looked out the window as he drove, trying to advoid talking since she knew lastnight would be brought up, "Sooo.. You're not feeling well" she heard him say. She glanced over at him an began biting her lower lip nervously, "N-No", "Well that sucks, I guess I shouldn't come over this afternoon then" he said sounding disappointed. She looked down at the floor board of the car, "Paige about last night, I'm sorry", she quickly raised her head looking at him. Why would be he appologizing to me? I mean I'm the one who acted like a fool!! she thought, "I should have never kissed you without asking first" he said with sorriness to his voice. She continued to stare at him, looking more confused, "Can we still be friends" he said eagerly, "Umm... Sure" she finally got out. "Good!, So tomorrow is friday and I was wondering if you would like to go to the carnival with me and a couple of my friends?", he said with a wide smile forming across his face. "I-I-" she started to studder, he looked over at her with wide eyes raising his eye brows, "I-I- don't like crowds" she wispered, "Aww it will be ok i'll be there with you" he said while placing his hand onto her knee. She felt her body starting to tense at his touch, "Come on!" he said again sticking out his bottom lip at her, she started to giggle at the sad puppy dog he was giving her, "Fine.." she finally agreed, I mean how could I resist that cute poor face she thought. As they approached her house, she grabbed her bag, and started out the door, "Alright i'll pick you up around six tomorrow night" with excitment to his voice. "Ok.." she said with a slight smile as she turned around to shut the door and head towards the house.
She walked in hearing her mom yell out "Paige? Is that you", "Yes mom, I didn't feel good so I decided to come home" she yelled back, her mom entered the living room coming over to feel her forehead for a fever "Do you need anything?" she asked concerningly, "No, I think i'm just going to go lay down, I'm really tired". "Ok hun, just let me know" she said as she gave her a hug, "Thank mom, I will" she said as she started off to her room.
She fell back on her bed strading her arms out over it, trying to wrap her head around that she actually agreed to go to the carnival tomorrow night with Bryant an his friends. I hate being around a bunch of people! I mean what if everyone from school is there and sees us together? Doesn't he know hanging out with me will cause more problems for him at school? But she got a feeling he wasn't really worried about other people and how they viewed him. Ugh... she sighed, I guess I'm going to the carnival tomorrow than.. She thought to herself.
