CHAPTER 28

LAWRENCE's work was piling up. As the hours passed, many documents arrived in his study room. Some of the documents are reports from the Alphas all over the world. They were complaining about the Rogues, bad hunters, and a new enemy that was lurking in the dark. He knew that the Alphas were talking about vampires. He had already sent out his invitation to invite all the Alphas all over the world to have a meeting in the palace. Thus, their complaints will be addressed.

Another set of documents arriving are the papers from his family’s business. It needs his signature and feedback.

Mabuti na lang at kasama niya si Cade ngayon. Cade was helping him with his Alpha duties while he was signing the documents that needed to be done, and they needed to be sent out before tomorrow.

“Your Majesty.”

Napatingin si Lawrence sa may pinto nang may kumatok. He automatically smiled. “Come in, My Queen.”

Napailing na lang si Cade nang makita niya ang ngiti ni King Lawrence. Halos samantalang kanina hindi man lang ito ngumiti at nakaseryoso. “Iba talaga ang inlove.” Pagpaparining niya.

Lawrence hissed at his Beta. “Shut up.” His glare disappeared and his face brightened when he saw his mate enter his study and push a trolley full of food.

“It’s already 12:30 in the afternoon. Hindi pa kayo kumakain.” Sabi ni Blythe.

Kumunot ang nuo ni Lawrence. “Hindi ba may pasok ka?”

“Oo pero isang oras lang ang klase ko ngayon kaya maaga akong umuwi. I planned to cook for you.”

Tumayo si Lawrence saka lumipat ng upo sa sofa.

Blythe put the food on the center table and put the food on Lawrence’s plate.

“Thanks, Baby.”

Ngumiti lang si Blythe. Tumingin siya kay Cade. “Kuya Cade, kumain ka na rin po. I also brought food for you.”

“Thanks, Your Highness.”

Lawrence clicked his tongue. He disagreed with the idea that Blythe also brought food for Cade.

Napailing na lang si Cade. “Your Majesty, Her Highness was kind, so I should be grateful to not offend her.” Aniya saka yumukod sa reyna. “Thank you, Your Highness.”

Tumango si Blythe saka tumabi ng upo kay Lawrence.

“Kumain ka na ba?” tanong ni Lawrence kay Blythe.

“Oo, kasabay ko kanina si Ezralyn.”

Umangat ang isang kamay ni Lawrence saka hinaplos ang ulo ni Blythe. Nasulyapan niya ang invitation letter na nasa lamesa pa rin niya.

“I heard that they will introduce the Queen they picked for you, Your Majesty.”

Lawrence fisted. He seldom got angry. But at this time, after hearing what Cade told him, hindi na niya napigilan ang sarili niya na magalit.

“Rogues and Vampires are making moves, and yet they are still thinking about that!” galit niyang saad. “How about I just kill them all!” he growled.

“Your Majesty, calm down. You might tear up the whole palace.” Sabi ni Cade at medyo kinakabahan. Though King Lawrence was a kind king, he was not kind when mad.

Lawrence growled. “When and where will the event be held?” he asked.

“At the Elder’s Hall. Two days from now, Your Majesty.”

Tumango si Lawrence. “Tell Ezralyn to pick a nice dress for the Queen.”

Cade bowed. “Yes, Your Majesty.”

Lawrence looked at his mate. Blythe was tough, but after being with her for three months, he learned that behind this tough demeanor was a crybaby. Yes, Blythe is a crybaby. He remembered that after he got whipped, he heard her crying inside the room. And when he woke up, Blythe was asking for forgiveness, and she was crying. Hindi niya kayang nakikitang umiiyak si Blythe lalo na at pakiramdam niya na kapag nakikita niya itong umiiyak ay parang nakikita niya ang pag-agos ng tubig.

Unbeknownst to Lawrence, Blythe is a tough woman, but she is softhearted towards Lawrence. Of course, Blythe would never tell Lawrence. Never. Ever.

After they finished eating, Lawrence ordered Cade to take back the trolley to the kitchen.

“I can do it. You may continue your work.” Sabi ni Blythe saka nagmamadaling tumayo.

Hinawakan ni Lawrence ang kamay ni Blythe. “Let Cade do it.”

Yumukod lang naman si Cade saka ito na ang naglabas ng trolley.

Habang si Lawrence naman ay hinila bigla si Blythe.

Blythe was out of balance and fell on Lawrence.

Sinalo naman ni Lawrence ang dalaga.

Pareho silang natigilan sa pagkakalapit ng katawan nilang dalawa. Sobrang lapit rin ng mukha nila sa isa’t-isa at ilang gahibla na lang ang layo ng mukha nila.

Tumikhim si Lawrence at sinubukang tumayo pero dumikit ang labi ni Blythe sa pisngi niya.

Lumaki ang mata ni Blythe saka mabilis na tumayo. “Sorry. I didn’t mean it.” Covering her red face, she quickly stormed out of Lawrence’s study room.

Later that night, while Lawrence and Blythe were in their room, Lawrence couldn’t keep it anymore from his mate. While lying on the floor on a soft mattress, he turned to his side, facing the bed where his mate was.

“Baby…”

“Hmm?” tumagilid si Blythe paharap kay Lawrence. Now, they were facing each other. The only difference is that Lawrence was lying on the mattress placed on the floor while Blythe was on the bed.

“I have something to tell you. You are my mate and I don’t have any means of keeping secrets from you.”

“What is it?” Blythe asked. Bumangon siya saka nag-indian seat sa kama habang nakaharap pa rin kay Lawrence.

Bumangon rin si Lawrence saka nag-indian seat.

“I received an invitation from the Elders of the Council. The Elders invited me to the Elder Hall on the other side of the palace.” Lawrence took a deep breath. “They will introduce to me the Queen they picked for me,” Lawrence said, and he noticed Blythe’s dark expression. Kaagad siyang nagpaliwanag. “But it will be only you, My Queen. I would never marry anyone else.” Nakahinga siya ng maluwang nang makita niyang nawala ang madilim na mukha ni Blythe saka tumingin sa kaniya.

“You better be or else, I will bury you alive.” Seryosong sabi ni Blythe. I think I don’t like you anymore. What I feel now is more than just a like. Aniya sa kaniyang isipan.

Ngumiti si Lawrence. “Are you being possessive of me, My Queen?”

Nag-iwas ng tingin si Blythe habang nag-iinit ang kaniyang pisngi. Humiga siya sa kama. “Gabi na. Matulog na tayo. You still have work to do tomorrow.”

“I’m not sleepy, Baby.”

“I need to sleep. May klase pa ako bukas.” Sabi ni Blythe saka nagkumot.

“Baby, you’re coming with me, right? I have already asked Ezralyn to find you a dress.”

Inalis ni Blythe ang kumot na nakatakip sa kaniyang mukha saka tumingin kay Lawrence. “Pwede ba akong pumunta?”

Ngumiti si Lawrence. “Baby, you are my queen. What mine is yours, okay? And we have equal power. Your presence would be their honor.”

“Really?” naninigurong tanong ni Blythe.

Tumango si Lawrence. “Yes, My Queen.”

A smile formed on Blythe’s lips. “Okay. I’ll go with you.” Aniya.

MEANWHILE, at the other dimension of the Earth where vampires live. A creepy and intimidating man who was sitting on the throne, grinned while drinking blood from his glass. He was the king of all vampires. He ruled the whole Vampyrean.

“Anong kaganapan sa mundo ng mga tao?” tanong niya sa mapagkakatiwalaan niyang tauhan.

Yumukod ang kaniyang tauhan. “Nagsagawa ako ng imbestigasyon. Hindi natin masasakop ang mundo ng mga tao dahil sa taong-lobo na tinatawag nilang ‘Alpha King’.”

“Sino ang Alpha King na ‘yon? Don’t tell me it’s my old friend.”

Umiling ang tauhan. “Kamahalan, ang pangalan ng Alpha King nila ay Lawrence Everson.”

Natawa ang hari ng mga bampira. “Lawrence Everson? How was he related to my old friend Lucian Everson?”

“It was said that he is the son of the late former Alpha King Lucian Everson and the Former Queen Celeste.”

Napatango ang hari ng mga bampira. “So, my old friend Lucian was already dead, but he left a legacy and that was his son.” Ngumisi siya. “Now I wonder what this Lawrence's weakness was to taking him down.”

Lucian Everson is not his old friend but his nemesis. Lucian and Aaliyah, the Wolf Goddess, are the reason why they are sealed in this world. But now, they have been given the chance to go out.

“One more thing, Your Majesty. I heard that the Alpha King is a demigod.”

Nagulat ang hari. “What did you say?”

“That’s what I heard, Your Majesty. I didn’t know if it was a rumor or if it was true.” Sabi ng tauhan.

Napaisip ang hari ng mga bampira. He knew that Lucian Everson was a pure werewolf, but he didn’t know the background of his Queen. “Forget it. Hindi na mahalaga ‘yon. Ang mahalaga ngayon ay kung paano natin sakupin ang mundo ng mga tao. As long as we kill the Alpha King, the werewolf’s faith and morale will waver. It’s easy for them to make an alliance for us.”

Tumango ang kanang tauhan ng hari.

“By the way, how was our spy from the council of Elders?” asked the king.

Yumukod ang tauhan. “They said that they would do everything they can to kill the Alpha King.”

“Good. But tell them to make it quick.”

Muling yumukod ang tauhan.

“Kumusta naman ang bihag natin? Kumakain ba siya ng maayos?”

“Opo, kamahalan.”

“Mabuti kung ganun. I need him for my scepter. I need him to live.”

PARADISE. Lucian hugged his wife from behind. “What’s the matter?” tanong niya sa asawa na kanina pa tahimik.

Celeste sighed. “It won’t be easy for Lawrence. I think the Council will pressure him to marry the woman they picked for him.”

“Lawrence has already found his mate, right?”

“But he hasn’t introduced her yet to the pack.”

Kumunot ang nuo ni Lucian. “Why?”

Umiling si Celeste. “His mate was just like me. Our son’s mate is not a werewolf. She’s a nymph and she’s not an ordinary nymph. Hindi ko pa siya nakikita pero pakiramdam ko iba siya kaysa sa karamihang Diwata. I could feel the powerful aura within her. I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me who’s overthinking about it.”

Humigpit ang yakap ni Lucian sa kaniyang asawa. “Maybe you’re overthinking. Malaki na si Lawrence. Kaya na niya ang sarili niya. We have witnessed all these years since his reign started. He is better than me even. He has already surpassed me. All we can do now is to support him. But if the Elders intervene in his private life, I will show up. No one would mess with my son’s happiness.”

Ngumiti si Celeste. “You…” humarap siya sa asawa saka ipinalibot ang braso sa leeg nito. “Always protective.”

“Of course, that’s my son.”

Umiling si Celeste. “But even if we don’t show up, Lawrence could handle the situation himself.”

“Right.” Sang-ayon ni Lucian saka pinangko ang asawa. “Now that we are sure that Lawrence doesn’t need our help, can you set aside everything and spend time with me, my wife?”

Ngumiti si Celeste. “Gladly.”

Lucian walked towards their cabin. “Let’s go to bed.”

Napairap na lang si Celeste. But she clung to her husband as if her life depended on it.
