CHAPTER 33

EZRA bowed when he entered the Alpha King’s study room. He was summoned by the Alpha King to go in the palace. May ideya na siya kung bakit siya pinatawag rito sa palasyo. “Your Majesty.”

“You’re here.” Itinigil ni Lawrence ang ginagawa saka tumingin kay Cade. “Call the Queen for me.”

Cade bowed and obeyed the Alpha King.

Habang hinihintay nila ang reyna, iminuwestra ni Lawrence ang kamay sa visitor’s chair na nasa mismong harapan ng lamesa ng lamesa. “Umupo ka.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty.”

Napailing na lang si Lawrence nang makita niyang kinakabahan si Ezra. Sumandal siya sa kinauupuang swivel chair. “You don’t have to tremble in front of me, Ezra. In terms of rank, I am indeed higher than you. But we are friends and brothers. I understand you.”

“Your Majesty, I…”

“I know you wanted your mate to live with you, but since you two belong to a different pack, and she is also an Alpha’s daughter, mahihirapan kang mamili. I understand the feeling of choosing the best, but this time, I understand what your choice will be. Just keep in mind that I will always support you, and you will always be the Gamma of the Night Moon Pack.” Sabi ni Lawrence. “I’m telling you this not to pressure you. I just wanted to say what’s on my mind.”

Yumuko si Ezra saka humugot ng malalim na hininga. He took a deep breath and then looked at the Alpha King. “Your Majesty, I… Alaina and I have already talked about it. She wanted to join our pack, but she feared that Her Highness might not like it. So, she was reluctant and thinking of going back to her pack.”

“Tell her not to feel reluctant.” Sabi ni Blythe na kakapasok lang sa study room ni Lawrence. Narinig niya ang sinabi ni Ezra.

Tumayo si Ezra saka yumukod sa reyna. “Your Highness.”

Blythe smiled and walked towards Lawrence. “Glad you called me.” Aniya saka tumayo sa tabi nito.

Lawrence smiled. “Only you can make Ezra feel at ease.”

“Oh.” Sabi ni Blythe saka tumingin kay Ezra. “I understand Alaina’s reluctance but tell her not to worry about me. Wala akong sama ng loob sa kaniya. If she wants, we can be sisters. She was your mate, and you were nice to me, Ezra. It’s not bad to return the favor, right? Not to you but to your mate.”

“Your Highness, you mean…”

Ngumiti si Blythe. “I saw her reluctance that night. She doesn’t want to marry Lawrence. That was already enough for me to trust her. Bring her to the palace. I want to meet her.”

Ezra’s face lit up and happiness showed. His worries faded. “Thank you, Your Highness.”

Tumango si Blythe saka tumingin kay Lawrence. “Ren, you’re the Alpha King, right?”

Tumango si Lawrence. “Yes.”

“Then do you have the power to decree that Ezra and Alaina will get married? I mean, Ezra doesn’t have any problem. But his mate, well…” Nagkibit ng balikat si Blythe. “We don’t know how Ezra’s mate’s father’s mind works.”

Lawrence smiled. “You’re thoughtful and considerate.”

“Of course. Ezra is family, and we must help and protect our family.”

“Agreed.” Sabi ni Lawrence saka tumingin kay Cade.

Cade bowed, he opened a color gold folder, and placed it in front of the Alpha King. Inside the thick golden folder was the written Royal Decree made by Lawrence.

Lawrence took his seal, stamped the Royal Decree, and gave it to Cade. “Cade, tell Samuel to deliver it to the Alpha of the White Claw Pack. Hand it personally to Alpha Absalon Briones.”

Yumukod si Cade saka lumabas ng opisina ng Alpha King dala ang Royal Decree.

“Your Majesty, what was your decree?” tanong ni Ezra.

Ngumiti si Lawrence. “A decree that can make you happy. Alright, you can go back now and spend time with your mate.”

Yumukod si Ezra sa hari at reyna saka siya lumabas sa study room ng Alpha King.

When it was only Lawrence and Blythe left in the study room, Lawrence pulled his mate into his lap.

“Ren!”

Lawrence chuckled and hugged his mate. “I miss you.”

Blythe couldn’t help but to roll her eyes. “Ren, nagkita lang tayo kanina.”

Hinalikan ni Lawrence ang pisngi ni Blythe. “Kahit na. Namiss pa rin kita.”

Napailing na lang si Blythe saka sinubukang tumayo pero hindi siya hinayaan ni Lawrence na makaupo sa kandungan nito.

“Stay. I want to feel your warmth.” Malambing na saad ni Lawrence. And from behind, he buried his face in Blythe’s neck, to his mark.

“Ren, baka may biglang pumasok.” Sabi ni Blythe.

Ikinumpas ni Lawrence ang kamay at sumara ang pinto ng study room nito. “There. No one will dare to come in.”

Blythe could only sigh in defeat and let Lawrence do what he wanted. Gusto rin naman niyang maramdaman ang yakap nito.

“Ren.”

“Hmm?”

“My birthday is coming.”

Tumango si Lawrence. “Yeah, I know. Want me to organize a party for your birthday?”

Kaagad na umiling si Blythe. “No, please don’t do that.”

“Why?”

“Let’s just celebrate it. Just the two of us.” Blythe sighed. “Actually, I don’t feel at ease. Hindi ko alam kung bakit ganito ang nararamdaman ko. I am supposed to feel happy because I am turning eighteen. I will now be at the legal age, but I don’t really feel at ease at all. Pakiramdam ko ay may mangyayari na hindi maganda.”

“Ano naman sana ang mangyari na hindi maganda? I’m here. I won’t let anyone hurt you.” Seryosong sabi ni Lawrence. He looked at his mate and he could see her worried face. Ngumiti siya. “Don’t think too much, My Queen. Your King is here. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

Yumakap si Blythe sa leeg ni Lawrence. “Yeah, you’re here. I know you would protect me, but still, I don’t feel at ease.”

Ngumiti si Lawrence ng pilyo. “Do you want me to make you feel at ease?”

Kumunot ang nuo ni Blythe. “How?”

Hinawakan ni Lawrence ang batok ni Blythe saka niya ito kinabig at hinalikan sa labi.

Bahagyang lumaki ang mata ni Blythe dahil sa ginawa ni Lawrence pero kahit nabigla siya sa ginawa nito kusa na lang na gumalaw ang labi niya upang tugunin ang halik nito. Pumikit ang kaniyang mata at tinugon ng buong puso ang halik ni Lawrence.

Napangiti naman si Lawrence sa pagitan ng halikan ni Blythe. Mas lalo pa niyang pinalalim ang halikan nilang dalawa. Their tongues battled against each other, and they bit each other’s lips.

Parehong pugto ang kanilang hininga nang maghiwalay ang kanilang labi.

Idinikit ni Blythe ang nuo niya sa nuo ni Lawrence.

Lawrence sighed. “If it was meant by human law, this could be considered inappropriate.” Aniya. “Good thing we are mates.”

Blythe chuckled. “I can see the relief in your face, Ren.”

Lawrence rubbed his nose at Blythe’s nose. “Thank you for being here.”

Ngumiti si Blythe pero may pumasok sa kaniyang isipan. Umayos siya ng upo sa kandungan ni Lawrence. “I have a question. It could offend you though.”

Kumunot ang nuo ni Lawrence. “What is it?” tanong niya. “I’m curious if your question could really offend me.”

Kinagat ni Blythe ang pang-ibabang labi. “If… if lang naman. If you haven’t met me, let's say I am not your mate and Alaina is not Ezra’s mate either, but the Elders wanted you to marry her. Will you marry her?”

Natawa ng mahina si Lawrence. “I’m offended, baby.” Biro niya.

“Just answer my question.”

Tipid na ngumiti si Lawrence saka umiling. “No.”

“Really?”

Tumango si Lawrence.

“Really? You won’t marry anyone except your mate?”

Lawrence nodded again. “I made a promise to myself that the only woman who could stand beside me is my soulmate.”

Gumuhit ang ngiti sa labi ni Blythe. “I’m lucky.”

“Lucky?”

Blythe gave Lawrence a peck on his lips before she left Lawrence’s lap. “I’m lucky to have you.” Aniya saka lumabas ng study room ni Lawrence.

Sandaling natigilan si Lawrence saka natawa na lamang ng mahina. “My mate is really adorable.”
