KUNG may hihilingin man si Lawrence sa Moon Goddess bukod sa makasama niya ang mate niya habang buhay, iyon ay magkaroon ng simpleng buhay. Iyon bang gigising ka sa tabi ng mahal mo at makasama mo siya kakain sa hapagkainan. Hindi ‘yong pag-upo niya pa lang sa kaniyang swivel chair maraming trabaho agad ang aatupagin niya.

Lawrence could only massage his temple by looking at the piled-up reports from different packs, reports from anonymous person, and several documents from the Everson Empire. He stared at the piled-up works in front of him. Sanay na siyang maraming ginagawa at dumarating na trabaho pero parang nanibago siya sa araw na ‘to dahil sa mukhang mas marami kaysa dati ang kailangan niyang tapusin sa araw na ‘to.

“Your Majesty, are you okay?” tanong ni Cade.

Lawrence glared at his Beta. “What do you think?” inis niyang saad rito.

Cade kept his mouth shut. Kung ganito ang ekspresyon ng Alpha King, mas magandang huwag na lang siyang magsalita. Halata kasi ang inis sa mukha nito. Hindi naman ganito dati ang Alpha King. Tahimik nitong sisimulan ang marami nitong trabaho. Could it be…

“Your Majesty, forgive me for overstepping the boundaries. But did Her Highness piss you off?” he asked as he opened one of the folders and gave it to the Alpha King.

Napabuga ng hangin si Lawrence saka sumandal sa kinauupuang swivel chair. “Hindi ko maintindihan. Why does Blythe like Alaina more than me? She spends her free time with Alaina. Should I kick Alaina out of the palace?” he asked Cade.

Natawa naman ng mahina si Cade. “Her Highness and your loyal Gamma will curse you, Your Majesty.”

Lawrence clicked his tongue. “I regret it.” Aniya saka napailing. “Forget it. If I kicked Alaina out of the pack, Blythe would blame me and hate me.” Sabi niya saka nagsimula ng magtrabaho.

Ngumiti si Cade. “Your Majesty, regarding the Council of Elders that you have asked me to investigate. I have my report of it.”

Tumango si Lawrence. “Tell me.”

“Some of the Elders were supporting some of the illegal hunters. Some of them did some misdeeds, such as confiscating properties belonging to the Alphas and other businessmen. And they are bribing and threatening Alphas to take their side.” Cade reported. And then he added, “And as you expected, Your Majesty, some of the Elders are doing illegal behind the court. Pero ilan rin sa kanila ang nanatiling tapat sa kanilang mga tungkulin bilang Elder ng Council.”

Ipinikit ni Lawrence ang mata para kontrolin ang kaniyang galit. “They did all that?”

Cade nodded. “Yes, Your Majesty. After investigating it for two months and confirming it was true, I can vouch for my life that this information I had told you was true and reliable.”

Now, Lawrence understood why the Former Queen was wary of the Elders and told him not to trust the Elders.

“Your Majesty, the complaints of the Alphas were on your table. I have already sorted everything for you.” Sabi ni Cade.

Lawrence opened his eyes and looked at the documents in front of him. Isa-isa niya ang mga itong binasa. After he read the complaints of the Alphas of different packs from all over the world, he felt ashamed of himself that he hadn’t done his responsibility as the Alpha King. Hindi niya alam ang mga hindi magandang ginagawa ng mga Elders sa mga pack na nasa malayo sa palasyo.

“This can’t go on.” Ani Lawrence. “I need to stop them.”

“Elder Aslan, Maximus, and Calix are the only ones who don’t have any bad record, Your Majesty. In secret, using their own money, they built charities, schools, and hospitals. When I asked them, they didn’t want Your Majesty to know about this, but I told them you need to reform the council, and they are willing to help you.”

“Pero kailangang manatili sa mata ng ibang council na hindi sila panig sa akin. This is to save their lives.” Sabi ni Lawrence. “Cade, thank those three Elders for me.”

Yumukod si Cade.

“How about the families I picked?” Lawrence asked.

“Report, Your Majesty. The nominated families accepted your invitation, and they assured you that they would show up on the day of the congregation.” Cade informed the Alpha King. “And your friends had also made their name known on their own. They subdued a lot of illegal hunter organizations with small casualties on their sides. And they also cleaned their territories, Your Majesty.”

“How about the Alphas nominated for Alpha Chief positions?”

“Don’t worry, Your Majesty. They accepted your invitation and wanted to express gratitude for trusting them.”

Lawrence let out a sigh. It’s time for a change in our werewolf society.

“Good. That’s good.” Sabi ni Lawrence. “It won’t be easy to reform the council, but it would be worth it after it is reformed. “ Aniya. Then he remembered the Royal Decree that he sent to Alpha Absalon. “How’s the Royal Decree?”

“Your Majesty, Alpha Absalon accepted it.”

Napatango si Cade. “And he asked that Miss Alaina should follow the traditional marriage of werewolves. It means that Ezra needs to pick his mate from his pack. So, Your Majesty needs to send Miss Alaina back to White Claw Pack and Ezra will pick her up on the day of their wedding, Your Majesty.”

“Okay. Ask Ezra and Alaina to come to me this afternoon. I’ll talk to them.” Utos ni Lawrence.

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“And your brother?”

Ngumiti si Cade. “Together with Miss Brianna, they took down many illegal hunters’ headquarters, Your Majesty.”

“Your brother became more productive at his job after meeting his mate.” Sabi ni Lawrence saka natawa ng mahina.

Natawa na rin si Cade. “Indeed, Your Majesty.” And my brother changed a lot after he met Miss Brianna.

LAWRENCE sent Miss Alaina back to her pack and asked Ezra to pick her up on the wedding day. In the way of werewolf tradition, Ezra and Alaina will get married to Alaina’s pack and after the wedding, they need to get wed again to Ezra’s pack, which was the Night Moon Pack, and perform the blood pact so that Alaina would be part of Night Moon. It was the tradition of werewolves when two mates were from different packs.

“Are you sure that you wanted to be with Ezra?” Alpha Absalon asked his daughter. Today was the wedding of his daughter and he was reluctant to let her go. But the happiness that Ezra could give to his daughter, was not the happiness he could give.

Tumango si Alaina. “Opo. Mate ko siya at kailangan ko siya.”

“Well then, good. Ezra is not just the Gamma of the Night Moon Pack, but the third-in-command of the Alpha King. Staying in the palace is safer than here.” Sabi ni Alpha Absalon. “Just don’t forget to visit me.”

Alaina smiled. “Thank you, Father.”

Wala na ang ina ni Alaina kaya naman mag-isa lamang si Absalon na maghahatid sa kaniyang anak sa mapapangasawa nito.

In the White Claw Pack, only their pack members were present. After the wedding at the White Claw Pack, they went to the Night Moon Pack where everyone was present. Alpha Absalon was pleased to see the Alpha King and the Luna Queen at his daughter’s wedding. Magkatabi ang hari at reyna na nakaupo sa unahang bahagi ng mga nakahanay na upuan.

Night Moon Pack members are present and happy to see their Gamma getting married.

The wedding was held at Ezra’s mansion.

When the wedding march had begun and the bride started to walk down the aisle, Blythe smiled and chanted a spell. Maya-maya pa ay umulan ng bulaklak. The flowers are appearing out of nowhere. The guest was amazed.

Alaina was more amazed by the raining flowers and looked at Blythe. It had been her dream to have flowers raining while she was walking on the aisle. Blythe just winked at her so, she smiled and mouthed ‘thank you.’

“You are really something.” Sabi ni Lawrence kay Blythe.

Blythe smiled. “Alaina once told me that she wanted flowers to rain on her wedding. I’m her friend, so it’s not as if I gifted her this.”

Lawrence just smiled and held his mate’s hand. Kapagkuwan napatingin siya kay Cade nang marinig niyang bumuntong hininga ito.

“What’s the matter? Mukha kang problemado. Nothing will happen, trust me. The pack warriors are patrolling, and I created a barrier to make sure that no hunters or rogues would make a mess.” Sabi ni Lawrence.

“I’m alone.” Sabi ni Cade. Then he complained, “My brother has found the right one. Ezra found his mate, and he is happy waiting for her at the altar and you, Your Majesty, you have Her Highness by your side.”

Blythe heard Cade and couldn’t help but to interject, “Kuya Cade, Liam and Samuel are single too. Hindi lang naman ikaw ang walang kapareha rito.”

Cade clicked his tongue. “You only say that because you have His Majesty. Sino na nga ulit ‘yong walang tiwala noon kay King Lawrence?” Aniya.

Natawa si Blythe. “That was before.” She defended herself.

Napailing naman si Lawrence sa dalawa.

Ezra and Alaina’s wedding ceremony ended after the exchanging of vows and kissing the bride. Cade stood up and walked in front.

“Everyone, as per our tradition. Alaina had to perform a blood pact with King Lawrence for her to join the Night Moon Pack. Your Majesty, please.”

Lawrence looked at Blythe. “Mabilis lang ‘to.” Aniya saka hinalikan si Blythe sa gilid ng nuo nito.

Tumango si Blythe.

Lawrence and Alaina performed the blood pact. After their blood was merged, Alaina felt her bond with her old pack was cut, and she felt the bond with her new pack. She was welcomed by the Night Moon Pack.

“Welcome to the Night Moon Pack, Alaina Briones-Sereno.”

Alaina bowed to the Alpha King. “Thank you, Your Majesty.”

Tumango si Lawrence saka bumalik sa tabi ni Blythe.

Blythe immediately inspected Lawrence’s wound. The knife they used was silver, and it was slow to heal when you were wounded by silver. Hinaplos niya ang kamay ni Lawrence na may sugat at agad na naghilom ang sugat nito.

“Thank you, My Queen.”

Blythe smiled. Pinagsiklop niya ang kamay nilang dalawa ni Lawrence.
